Well it looks pretty good for MMO fans. They are saying that it won't be the ridiculous grindfest of XI, we'll see.

Wait, did he just say steam will be on the playstation?
That he did. Very interesting.
How would they do that? Isn't PSN it's own network?

Yeah I think I may just start using my PS3 again because of this
Sony wins because of this
EDIT: It works as an updating system not a digital distribution service

I see no difference between Kinect and EyeToy, to be honest. Nothing that revolutionary about Kinect from a hardware perspective, and it could be a complete flop.VampireCommando wrote...

The EyeToy just allowed simple interactions with on-screen objects, Kinect has shown that it can do much mroe than this. You can use it to communicate with the game, it can register objects and allow for them to be used in the game, you can perform complex motions like the jump rope in Kinectimals, it can track your whole body to monitor whole well you're dancing, it can track your hands for lightsaber control, etc.
The tech is better than the Wii, and it may be better than the move, the software just sucks.

It still needs to be able to see you. It's just like the EyeToy except far more complex and capable. "Wand" motion control mechanics track motion without needing to see you with a camera. (well there's infrared, but that's more of a signal than a camera) Niether can be said to be better as of yet. It's two different kinds of tech. The kinds of games we end up playing with them will show which performs better, and that is some time off.Twitchmonkey wrote...

The camera does have some ability to follow you, however, so that may not be as much of an issue, but as you have said, we'll see. The problem with the move is that to have that advantage of it being able to track you, you give up being able to use your whole body beyond just your hand, that's a major drawback to move, as it really is just a glorified wiimote, and the glorified part is debatable. While Kinect may be superficially similar to the EyeToy, it is improved enough to be a major evolution in motion control, though not a revolution.
We'll just have to see if either console gets games that respect its motion control and don't just cash-in with casual crap.

What I want to see is a serious 3D game combined with Kinect. I want to interact with objects, and with situations directly ingame in 3D environments. I'm looking at you, Tony Stark's computer in Iron Man.
This, we need Microsoft J.A.R.V.I.S.

That's what I sort of assumed. Didn't seem anything that new to me.the_one_54321 wrote...
Kinect seems like a supercharged EyeToy to me as well. It's really neat. But it's improved tech, not revolutionary tech.
I think Sony did just play a very good card though. $50 for Move? Bleedin' 'eck.
