So how do I do it? I cleared the tower, picked up all the paper I think, I went down to the first level (not gonna do the final battle till I do this). But I'm still confused on this summoning. Are there 4 things to summon? What do I have to do to summon them?

Follow the note (i.e., do each of the three rituals in turn; each ritual has a description of the item sequence to touch). It's pretty easy. Even though the last one has several items to touch, that's all you do - touch each of the listed items in turn. When the note says "pray here" or "put a silver piece here" or "wave your arms here" all it means is to touch that item in game.

The second summoning has you placing a silver peice at the foot of a statue. I have not been able to get past this part.

You do not have to do that. You just go up to the statue and use it, like any door or book pile.

That quest completed for me after 3. However, there's a consequence that results in another quest later on, one that resolves through a random encounter on the road.

The Summoning Science, as the first one is called, is simple. Follow the codex entry to the letter, and it will work. Not very rewarding though, might I add.

The second 'summon' quest is a little confusing. But click the statues ONCE, and only ONCE. You will NOT get a confirmation like with Summoning Science. If you click it twice you will get shocked. If you click it ONCE and it is the correct one, you will not get any warning.

If I recall correctly, it is: Left - Right - Middle, then further on in the room with the Sloth the last statue.

I also have a quest for a ritual in the great hall common room. I'm there now, and there are 3 statues, anyone know how to do this? All they seem to do is damage me.

Yeah. That last statue is after a key storyline moment. You'll see what I mean when you get there. Fourth floor.

It's in the room with the stairs up to the next level.

thanks for all the replies. I just don't like unfinished quests. Maybe my only gripe about the BG games, it seems like I always have quests that I can't finish in that game (some you can't finish, they are more just journal entries). I'm not obsessive, honest. :)

I still got five completed, but forgot to hand in, quests from Lothering. Why did it have to get swallowed up by the blight? Why?
