Icon-based system in Dragon Age 2
Posted Image

Basically, they add an icon like the fist here that will better help you decipher the meaning behind a dialogue option. A fist would represent aggression, while something like a heart would tell you when you're entering a romance.

A small change but it fixes so much.:innocent:

Awesome - I hadn't actually seen this system working, just head reports about it. It does look like it would save us a lot of trouble! Can be sometimes difficult to decipher which responses are sarcastic, aggressive or ironic, especially when (unlike KoTOR/DA:O) the spoken dialogue doesn't match up with the written text. I've had more than one nasty surprise when Shep said or did something that wasn't suggested very well by the dialogue.

This looks very promising, hopefully they can port the same system over to Mass Effect (especially if it's received well in DA2).

Are there any news on good mods out there? Or do I still have to switch to the opposite sex via gibbed to get the ss-li's working?

Just so we're all clear in this point...
Liara, Samara and Morinth aren't women. They are members of an asexual species. It's a major cop-out and doesn't count as a fem/fem romance.

...

:pinched:

If they were asexual they wouldn't have sex with EITHER gendered Shep.

They are mono-gendered.

One Gender

Which is female

So yes it counts as a fem/fem romance.

Sorry about the post hostility but I'm so sick of hearing that.

If they were asexual they wouldn't have belly buttons.

They are discount lesbians at it's finest. <_< "ooh because they're female aliens they don't count!!111!!!"

No.

These heated discussions over allowing homos in space are humorous. They make me laugh. If Matrix were here, he'd laugh too.

Actually, ******=mammal. Oocytes=female. Male humans have '******', or have you never seen a dude with his shirt off? Those nipples? ******. They're just not activated by the endocrine system the same way female humans' breasts are.

A given species can forego a male subtype, but if it wants to make new individuals, it has to have a female gender. All animal species have a female type, but not all of them have males. Some have non-gendered, neuter individuals ("asexual"), and some are hermaphroditic or pseudohermaphroditic. Gender is not the binary many people assume it to be, but given the maturity level of some of the people who post on these boards, I shouldn't be surprised that they would fail to realize this.

Well, your mirth is an obvious indicator that you are a profoundly heterosexual person with no latent homosexual tendencies at all, so congratulations. And congratulations on being a complete tool, that's quite an accomplishment in and of itself. Hopefully when you get to high school, you'll grow the eff up.

Insider tip: People who feel the need to comment negatively about homosexuality are invariably experiencing some sort of crisis regarding sexual confidence. This has been proven time and again. People who are comfortable and secure in their own sexual or gender identity do not feel compelled to disparage the sexuality of others. What would be the point for such a person?

Your silly heatedness only makes me laugh harder. First, you clearly missed the reference. Second, I said nothing negative about homosexuals and I don't mind it at all. Settle down with the indignation.

You're clearly expressing a condescending and dismissive attitude. While I may have missed some reference, that much I am sure I got right. So laugh it up, pal.

Is it condescending to find it hilarious when people actually find the need to put down same-sex romances on a gaming forum? Better to laugh at people being silly than let them get you mad. It seemed to me you were talking down to me saying I need to "grow the eff up" but maybe I misinterpreted it, much like you misinterpreted my original post and assumed I was just another kid making gay jokes.

Though there really isn't just a mod to enable S/S romances right? I have to do the whole gender switch thing using the save game editor?

To the best of my knowledge--yes. In the first game, both Kaidan and Ashley had fully voiced lines with a same-sex Shepard, so it was simply a matter of enabling them. While there are some lines from Shepard that reference same-sex romances, none of them are complete, and none of them have lines from the actual characters (to my knowledge), most likely because they scrapped the idea of a same sex romance before they hired everyone else but Meer and Hale.

While we have Charles Darwin here, can you help cure the genophage, so that we can have a s/s romance with krogans?
