*keeps crossing fingers for s/s romances in ME3*

One part of me is shaking its head at me for actually letting a sliver of hope sneak in that there will be s/s (or m/m more specifically) in ME3. I let myself dare to hope for ME2 and I can't describe the feeling ... just ...
I promised I wouldn't ever dare to hope again. But ...

Obviously it's likely we'll get our bit of F/F action (Asari count), as even ME2 threw a bone of (an undeniably lesbian fling) in that regard. ME2 basically forced FemShep to display interest in Shiala along with a MaleShep, as well.
But what about substantial content? M/M in particular. Do you really think they would include it after all this time of doing exactly the opposite and throwing out the lame "pre-defined" excuse?

The ones calling the shots are the same ones who have shown themselves to be ... I guess I'll say 'ignorantly offensive' on the issue, what with the interview comments. Ignorantly offensive because I don't believe they intended to cause offense, they just didn't think about the effect their words would have. But nevertheless, those interview comments are pretty much all we have to go on at the moment as to why the m/m content wasn't implemented in the first place ... so while they still stand there is no reason to believe they will suddenly have a change of heart.
That said, I'm not about to stop stating loudly that I think they are wrong, and I'm not about to stop pointing out the 'ignorantly' offensive nature of their comments on the matter and the way the whole s/s thing has been handled.

How likely do you guys actually think it is that there'll be gay romances this time around?

I'm sad to say but I find it as likely to be m/m in ME3 as for pigs to start flying.
F/F will either be with another Asari so they can bust out their "Asari aren't females!" excuse or will be something like Kelly.
That said as long as I get a decent storyline, no more forced grins at those blue "nongendered creatures" since the ME devs insist they're not females and a decent plot I'll be happy.
I do hope that they bother leaving the inevitable recording of M!Shepard's versions of F!Shepard's Kaidan romance in so my game doesn't completely bonk itself. I doubt I'll even get that small mercy.
Though I do wish they would at least own up to their double standards.

He looks a little different, not quite as 'Kaidan-like' as before, to my eyes at least, but still dishy. It's art though, I think, not actual game rendering (am I right? I couldn't really tell), so who knows ...

If it's the one I just saw, I so hope he's available. Oh my.

I remember on the old forums when there was this big discussion when people and even one of the devs somehow got to saying "Just pretend two random guys talking on the Citadel are dating. Isn't that good enough for you?" when one person questioned why there were no gay people or romances in ME1.catabuca wrote...

It was facepalm-inducing to say the least. The discussion was pretty funny, though, that's why I remember it.

****ing hell. Seriously? I didn't know that and I was already offended and angry by the comments. Now, I'm fuming.

It was a long time ago, anyway. I wouldn't make a big deal of it.

....Yeah this is why I stick to the Dragon Age boards.
That's....sad. Not even in the remotely facepalm worthy way. It's just...eh. I can't even muster up enough energy to be irritated.
Though I remember the old boards. It would get downright nasty whenever someone made a s/s thread. Not that it's much of a change from now.

It may have been from 2007, but I was extremely shocked to hear the tone and words that person came out with.
I'm pretty speechless right now.

Well i think that now that the release of ME3 gets closer I should leave this part of the forum. Considering how disappointed I was at ME2´s release because of the lack of m/m romances and how much worse this disappointment was made by the thoughtless dev comments I do not want to get my hopes up again. I will check if something has changed regarding this topic sometime around launch, but I won´t spend half a year hopeing only to end up disappointed again.

I mean you've been teased with same sex romances since game 1.
Ashley/Kaiden was supposed to be for both sexes, but they never were.
Thane/Jack were supposed to be for both sexes, but that was canned as well.
You are, for lack of better words, being cock teased.
I hope you guys can get to enjoy the romances too. I know you can just play as a female Shepard, but it isn't the same and does not make for proper roleplaying. You should be allowed to be role play to same way as everyone else, but according to your prefrences.
Maybe a strongly worded letter? To Bioware. Not EA. EA would remove romances to avoid this in the future. Then again Bioware has been pretty mad lately with their whole, "IT'S NOT A DATING SIM!"
If you do try a(nother) strongly worded letter than I hope it isn't worded too strongly. Perhaps persausive letter would be more appropriate.
