DA has same sex partners, ME doesn't. You can't get what you want in every game, I played DA and had no dispute with the romantic gay options. Did it bother me in the least? No, it's clear these characters swing both ways who cares it's been established and some of the conversations are funny. Magically introducing same sex partners in ME3 would be like Aragorn courting Faramir out of the blue. Just wouldn't make any sense.
Except ME does have the option for female players.
A bit limited. Kelly? Not really a romance option.

We keep hearing this but I have yet to hear a satisfactory explanation for why that is.
Meanwhile we have have Sky, Silk Fox, Liara, Leliana, Zevran, Anders, Merrill, Fenris, and Isabela for an explanation as to why bisexual love interest work.
I guess the story goes that these romances aren't as deep and meaningful as the ones featuring an LI that's exclusive to one gender (basically, heterosexual).
That makes no sense to me

It works for Isabella, Leliana, Anders, and Zevran because it fits their characters and they react to a S/S romance appropriately. The others (I'm not sure about Jade Empire) just sort of felt tacked on.
Why does it feel 'tacked on' in these cases but not with, Leliana for example?

I like that you mentioned Anders, since a lot of people feel that he didn't give any hint of liking men in Dragon Age Origins: Awakening. Some may even call it "tacked on."
Also, "reacted to a S/S romance appropriately?" There were no differences in the romances save less than a handful of dialoge. Merrill thought my Hawke was pretty

Two things: one, limited is not non-existant. Two, a femShep/Liara pairing is a legit same sex couple since femShep would need to find the female form appealing to be attracted to Liara.

She alludes to having slept with men in the past as part of a job but that's it. That's hardly grounds for attraction/desire though, which is what sexuality is all about.

Doesn't he flirt with male wardens and another character in Awakening?

Also the asari are female anyways, monogendered means one gender not none....unless the opposition is taking the position that all Asari are male. Which would be hilarious as I'm sure more than a few of em have romanced Liara with a maleshep and that sounds kinda gay....
ETA:

Plus, despite certain unconvicing protestations made during a Q&A chat session, Liara and asari in general are female.

Nah a glitch in the friendship bar made it seem like he loved the Warden. But looking back I wonder maybe Awekaning originaly had romances because the same thing happened with Velanna or was it Sigrunmrsph wrote...

Not to my knowledge, no. That said, my Warden is female and it has been months since I last played Dragon Age Origins: Awakening. He may not have. However, BioWare does try to make each character as layered and, well, real as possible, and people are always more than what they first appear. Any love current love interest in Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 can fall in love with someone of the same gender with it making perfect sense for them; a character trait is only "tacked on" when the character themself is shallow.

Reminds me of that scene from the classic movie Liar, Liar starring Jim Carrey.
Fletcher: Your honor, I object!
Judge: Why?
Fletcher: Because it's devastating to my case!

You also find alcohol in strip clubs. I guess this means everyone is a lush.

I love how the quote directly from Bioware's source material naming the Asari as sexually female is being ignored.
What quote in particular?

Which proves that clubs exist for people who find asari attractive. Chora's Den had human stripers; I believe that a turian was enjoying one. You made a claim that everyone finds asari attactive. Support it. Give evidence. Back up your claim with facts from the games or books. Just because some members of a species may find asari attractive (or humans attractive or elcor attractive) that does not indicate the attitude of whole cultures.

Although I suppose it deserves repetition so here goes
"while asari have only one gender, they are not asexual like single-celled life—all asari are sexually female" Galactic Codex: Essentials Edition 2183
Which came with the LE of ME1 on XBOX 360 and is canon where not directly contradicted, which AFAIK it hasn't been. The other relevant wiki articles is on the Asari where the actual quote is from and yes according to the article it's a quote not a summary.

Hooboy.
You do know that one of the many benefits of, well, art in general, lies within interpretation. You, however, seem greatly offended that some interpretations differ from yours.
By your definition, Kaidan is straight, Garrus doesn't hit on you and there are no children anywhere.
You can keep your definition. You have yours. Those that have defined another Shepard, different from yours, however, might not have the tools they desire to act out their interpretation.
We do not spit on art. If anything, you cage art, you define art.
But on to your other points, you are correct. You are not wrong.
We just want the option to be not wrong, as well.
How can you deny us that, when you are so hasty, so committed to defend YOUR interpretation?
Ok onward we march! Like knights in shining armor. Regarding Interpretations. I am as likely to defend them, as I am to abandon them.Someone once said:There are no facts only interpretations. And if it is so, then I am free to wonder in search of truth.
I may have come down as storm filled with rage, I apologize for that. In my opinion, we are merely observing one truth from two different angles, and therefore we come to different conclusions. Truth is – we both want something. We want this game to be better.
Your position is better, as you stand on holy ground of acceptance. And I am standing on denial. You want to divide an apple, while I want to conquer it all for myself. My position may seem selfish and unjust. But it all depends on how you will look at it. I simply defend OUR ideals when you try to pierce them. I am the shield, and you are the sword.
'Allowing bisexual to take major part in ME3 - means stepping down, giving up somethingWhat we have here is nothing major. Simple and understandable conflict of interests. Nothing more, nothing less.
Sex is close to religion. You chose to Believe that : 2/1 =2 And I believe that : 2*1 = 2 Our answers are the same, but our Interpretations are different.
I could say: It is out of our hands! There is nothing we could really do, but that is untrue. Developers control every aspect of upcoming game. But then again nothing is written in stone. They may decide to allow or deny bisexual relations in last moment. And there is slight chance that our discussion may influence their decision. I could say that this discussion is pointless, but you would easily prove me wrong. 212 pages speak for themselves.
Cage: I have to tell the truth. Those words hit me hard. And that. I won’t let go so easily.
Yes, I am prepared to cage art. I am prepared to restrict, polish and cut art, to turn rocks in to sparkling diamonds. Rules and obstacles are there for reason. Without restrictions, moral and ethical laws we are nothing more them primitive animals. Rules make us stronger. .
AND Freedom is a double edge sword, it strikes both ways. Balance must be maintained!!! We both have freedom. You and I. What is freedom? It is the ability to make our choices, and embrace the consequences. I chose to uphold rules, and reach for MY perfection, my truth. And you… you chose to abandon rules and follow your path. I can probably write pages of critic and come up with a hand full of good reasons why bisexual relations should not be allowed, like how will it damage the game and characters, how it will affect gaming experience, and so on, and so on.
But will it change anything? In the end after all that philosophical garbage we must find a suitable compromise for both parties, otherwise we are hitting brick wall.
