It's too little too late for you guys. Shepard is a straight dude and has been for two adventures. You want them to throw consistency out the window?

How is it too late?? Commander shepard can choose not to have a romance.

Shepard is clearly into the ladies canonically. Has no objections when Shiala or Gianna Parasini hits on him.

In Bioware games there really is no canon character. You guys are really making bad aguements here

Yes there is. In DA same sex partners are available from the beginning it's quite clear. I enjoyed the game didn't bother me in the least. maleshep has shown 0 interest in the opposite sex. He can save the galaxy, he's pretty much the most famous character in the galaxy and up to now has shown only interest in females, and all of a sudden he comes out of the closet in ME3? Seriously, that would be like Aragorn courting Farimir all of a sudden in LOTR, would be absolutely ridiculous.

There where same-sex partners in ME originally, but they where cut out, and even without the same-sex stuff, he never openly admits a sole attraction to any gender in the entire series so far.

Not the same games, this is ME3 not ME1 where you could start something like that. Intorducing it into ME3 will only screw it up for everyone who is concerned about Canon and the storyline.

They have a good point. You were name-calling. And they weren't trolling.

How about keeping the personal insults out of this thread and focusing on the debate? Behave, the both of you. ;)

If acting condescending after massively screwing up, and continuing to do so once called out on it is not trolling, then I don't know what it is.

Why don't you just mind your own business, rather than being a massive hypocrite?

"Douche" may offend you, but ignorance and egocentrism offends me just the same.

Do you even read the replies to your posts? Because, at the moment, it looks like you're blindly hitting the reply button and repeating yourself.

Several people have pointed out that there is more than a male Shepard and that one interpretation of Shepard is not possible. It would be nice if you started addressing these other points instead of just churning out the same answer over and over. :)

No it wouldn't. Like we've all said earlier, Shepherd couldn't express his feelings for other men because he's never had an oppritunity to do so. Besides, I can create an entirely new Shepherd in every game of the franchise, only story elements would stay constant.

Elaborate.  Why would it 'screw up' 'canon' and storyline?

I'm also pretty sure Liara is part of the ME franshise.

He doesn't openly admit it? Having sex with only women is a pretty good sign he's not gay and that is his sole attraction. Does he have to come out and say I have sex with women and only women not men? Until he does that you won't be convinced?

You're actively trying to be obtuse now, aren't you?

So, what's canon?  Is Shep a man or a woman?  If he's a man (and a STRAIGHT man at that!) who's his canon LI?  Tali?  Miranda?  Or did he try to get it on with Samara?  How about FemShep?  Garrus?  Jacob?  I also forget now...Did s/he give the base to Cerberus or destroy it?

See where we're going with this?

I can't see how I was being hypocritical in the slightest. Maybe you'd like to elaborate?

You're making a large assumption there. I'm not offended by anything you've said, not even your attempts at insulting me. I just want a nice, friendly debate because that's something that I happen to enjoy. And it's a much healthier environment for us all. :)

2. There for your shepard is a female lesbian.

You know there is such thing as being attracted to both genders. I'm not sure if you knew that

P.S. do you copy and paste your replies

Shepard doesn't have to have sex with women.  When does the game force every MaleShepard to sex up a female?

No, as in saying that "I only like men/women/asari" outside of romances, aside from telling Liara that he only likes men which I linked in this forum, but that got cut out also. Him sleeping with a woman is a sure sign of heterosexuality too...but also bisexuality. My Shep would leave Liara if he could romance a guy.

My Shepard has never had sex with a woman in his life. Only men. He just so happens to have never been given the chance to express his affections and attraction towards any men during the timespan of the first 2 ME games.

How is my Shepard straight?

Hell let's say since one Shepard can sleep with Tali all male Shepards find Tali sexually appealing. And all FemSheps are willing to sleep with Garrus.

:wizard:

All shepards are getting down with aliens.

Believe it or not, Centauri, I am trying to play nice. I'm not calling people douches, or stating that they have foreign objects lodged in the lower GI tract. I am trying to discuss the logic of statements made. And every time I or others address that logic, it devolves into name-calling and accusations of condescension, or in George Martin's case, simply ignoring others' statements and making more statements that show that the responses to his earlier statements were either misunderstood or ignored completely. Well, I'll own up to a pedantic tone now and then, it's kind of unavoidable at times when a statement is presented in a way that makes the reader question the authors' breadth of knowledge on the topic. For that offense, I suppose I'm guilty. But I don't think it is incumbent upon me to be excessively polite toward people who are not extending the same courtesy to me. Perhaps that is a flaw in my character, maybe I'm not a 'turn the other cheek' type. If people want a fight, I'll give them one, but I don't use insults as my weapon, I use logic.

I do appreciate the call to bring down the emotionally charged atmosphere though, and to that I respectfully acquiesce.

We only see Shepard drink alcohol in Mass Effect too. Does that, therefore, mean he's an alcoholic? That he doesn't drink anything but alcohol?

No, it doesn't. And you're still ignoring the replies about FemShep.

You were being hypocritical for defending that other individual, whose attitude prompted my reaction in the first place. Who are you to complain about insults?

But I can see you're just as conceited and obnoxious as the other one, so anything I say to you will fall on deaf ears.

Perhaps it would be more wise to ignore certain people who refuse to answer any of the questions we keep bringing up and/or have resulted to name calling? We don't want what happened in the early days to happen again all because we couldn't ignore their silliness. ; )

Yes, please, everyone on both sides stop resorting to name-calling. This is not the place for it. If you insist on making an exchange personal, take it to PM where it belongs. This thread is for rational debate that sometimes gets passionate and fiery. Not for oneupmanship or sniping.
