Of course I know what my sig says. I was just stating that I don't know where this thread is going.

And I think a better poll question would be how many players are actually homosexuals who would make use of said feature.

Or, how many people are NOT homosexual but ant to roleplay a character that is? You kno, roleplaying allos you to do things you wouldn´t do as yourself because you don´t RP Eddo36 but XXX Shepard........

Although I must say that you are coming off as being on the extreme side of the fence, sir. So I have to ask you to specify, is there not a single compromise you can imagine being subjected to?
Or do you simply feel that there should be no homosexuality in the game at all?

Hm people who are not homosexuals but want to roleplay a character that is homosexual. Never heard of that before.

I think they should include all types of lovers in ME, then all the straights can kill all the gays and be happy, and the reverse can also happen, all the gays kill all the homophobes for a much happier world, yeah sound like a plan.

I'm only stating my views. I have no problems with homosexuals. I'm just irked that people are trying to force a neutral game into a social movement. That is all.

Unfortunately having the option to kill all homosexuals in the game wouldn't work because it will give the player an opportunity to become a mini-Hitler and draw major criticism.

You could kill most squadmates in Dragon Age. You could kill most in Jade Empire (though only very late in the game).
You can side with Cerberus to ensure human supremacy over other species.
In "Witcher" you can make sure all non-humans are oppressed / killed and even help in doing so..
I do not see why that would be trouble. You can be a "Mini-Hitler" in many games already.

Besides, I didn´t mean killing all homosexuals, I meant that you should have an option to get rid of squaddies you don´t like. If in your case these happen to be homosexuals, well, that´s your intolerant attitude. not the game´s fault.

That is alright. If you want to spend hours driving a same-gender character to do something with the femus, however, that's something else.

Alright, that would be fair.

Given that's not what's happening in these threads, would you be interested in addressing Cootie's question in further detail? Perhaps discussing the sort of compromise you would be willing to accept?

I think you are making this more dramatic than it has to be. This is not some social movement where homosexuals ask for the same rights as anyone else or somesuch.
We are merely asking for options and saying "Hey, this might be a good idea, I really wanted more of this." in the same manner as any other thread might ask for more weapons of any category.

And again, you did not specify a compromise, which is a case of repetition, which is also very close to spam. Keep that in mind, sir.

Eddo, you have to understand, people play differently. You might enjoy to RP yourself.

I, however, prefer playing female characters (if possible not even human) because I enjoy that more.

And if I DO play a man, I prefer him to be gay / bi.........

Nothing wrong with that. It is my game and how I play is not your business.

>>And I think a better poll question would be how many players are actually homosexuals who would make use of said feature.<<

What makes you assume that only homosexuals are going to make use of this feature? From what I've read in the DA forums quite a few heterosexual women ran male romances with Zevran; and I know quite a few heterosexual men ran lesbian romances with Leliana. I also know that a fair number of heterosexual men gave Zev a shot, though amusingly Lel seems to be less popular among heterosexual women in the threads I've looked over.

So you can see that the homosexual population is not the only demographic which will make use of this material if it is included in the game. People, when given options, often like to experiment with those options, whatever their sexual preference in real life.

I have seen plenty of straight users who would like to RP a s/s romance. It just means more options. I may be lesbian but if there was m/m romance, I would definitely play it just because it gives me more to do.

Quoted For Truth (and eloquence).

There's a "Mass Effect 3 Wishlist" that runs to 186 pages. There's an Armor Wishlist that runs to 27 pages. There's a Tali appreciation thread that runs to nearly nine thousand pages. There are innumerable 'cure Thane!', 'Liara for ME3!', etc threads. All of them asking, politely, for Bioware to listen to them - not demanding, but suggesting. This thread is no different - just a little more stylish.

Now, back to some actual discussion. Rynluna, apologies but I don't think I made my post very clear - I meant that it was MShep that had to say "I'm only interested in men" (in cut dialogue, obviously) before Liara would stop pestering him. But your observation that there was no cries of disgust when straight FemSheps rejected Liara is very true. Perhaps a good model for future romances is one that relies on the player to initiate it rather than a prompt from the LI which could be misinterpreted. Making romance conversation options more obvious (with e.g. coloured text) would help in this regard.

So you would consider it spam because I didn't answer one of your question directly. What does that make bringing up a topic that has been locked 20 times in the past? But that's going a tad off-topic.

To address your specific issue of a compromise, I support having up to 2 bi/homosexual people of each gender. Any more than that number would be unrealistic since they're a minority, unless in the future the population got hit by a gay bomb (and the military in real life did try to make one http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gay_bomb ) which would make the game setting a tad repulsive to more players than those who would find it pleasing.

Eddo, you have to understand, people play differently. You might enjoy to RP yourself.

And point being? Just because there aren't gay characters doesn't mean you can't RP as a gay person. You're just RP being a sole gay person in a universe of straight people. That adds dimension, actually.

I have seen plenty of straight users who would like to RP a s/s romance. It just means more options. I may be lesbian but if there was m/m romance, I would definitely play it just because it gives me more to do.

Lesbian into male-to-male romance? The world is an interesting place, and I have nothing against anyone's personal life.

Just addressing and stating my 2 cents. Hope I won't be accussed of spam again for that.

Just bringing myself up as another one of those people who likes to play a character completely unlike my actual self.

I play a female Shepard and am interested in having a same sex romance for her (preferably with Tali), but I, myself, am a gay male.

I greatly prefer playing female characters over male characters. Especially in Mass Effect.

QFT.  This is a common argument I see around here.  "Oh I'm all for s/s romance but you guys need to stop making these threads."  You would be here all day if you went into each thread telling them they are wasting their time, asking for a squadmate return or option.

I'm male and straight and always play straight male characters, but I support this entirely. It doesn't seem fair to only cater to some people in the romance department, and in such an advanced and varied universe it seems silly to have all races following the rigid social norms of human beings.

Good point, Wugger.

Simple thing: don't want it - don't choose it!

I want it. :)
