Guys, can you give me a little direction here? I've seen on youtube this romance Femshep/Ashley, I assume it¡s some mod, but the mods threads are mostly about reskins... does anyone know how you do that?

I would check out this thread.

It gives you two ways to go about it...one allows you to actually use a custom Shepard.

Hmm...It's still an extra layer to get in the way.  Although it would protect against Mackenzie's followup DLC!

I'm thinking about this now.

Kaidan, frying up some pancakes, turns around as Shepard, wearing only a pair of boxers, shuffles into the kitchen of their apartment.

"Mornin', Commander~"  He's got this sort of relaxed, lopsided grin on his face, and he's holding a plate of hotcakes and a spatula.

Why isn't this in my game?

In fact, when I thought of 'cute little apron', I meant while otherwise naked.

I'd buy 'naked breakfast dlc' in a heartbeat.

YEAH SO ANYWAY.

Regarding us pro-s/s-options people, we all know we want the option, but how do we all want it?
Is there any way you would really NOT want it to be implemented? Like, for instance, if you're strongly against the DA2-method?

I'm a console gal, so I don't know how to do any modding, but what you saw was probably the original Ashley same-sex romance that was cut (along with the same-sex Kaidan romance) from the game at some point during Mass Effect 1's development, even though the work was almost completed. Some people are able to unlock the audio tracks and animations through modding, but it's interesting that they were developed in the first place. And even more interesting that they were dropped, seemingly at the last minute with very little work remaining to be done, when they were clearly planned and implemented for the majority of the development process. Things that make you go "hmmmmmm".

I don't have any objection to any specific implementation method other than the idea to "turn off the gay" via a setting in the game. Existing characters, new characters, it doesn't matter how it's added, but it would be really nice if it was added. I don't like having my character options limited any more than absolutely necessary.

Honestly I think that's the best way and will always be so in 99% of cases. More choices for less zots and happier people.  It's a win-win situation.  None of the likely returning romances have been soon to be definitively  heterosexual and I doubt there is a reason to right any potential new LI's as such.

I can't see a way I would not be happy with, just less happy with I think.  I suppose some subjective sexuality would be hair raising (BTW if anyone trys to say this is what we have in DA2 I have two words for you : No. /Sten) but even that would be better than nothing.  Only adding a Kelly type S/S romance would also be a deliberate insult IMO.

Oh I don't know, I've been pretty persuasive in the past. Just not in this case, it seems. ;)

Yep, the debate was fun. Thanks for the challenge! :P

There are things that would be most pleasing and things that would be less so.  Frankly, the "everybody's bi!" thing would be ideal, IMO- it gives players the most options.  I don't think it'd be character-breaking to implement it, either, at least in most cases.  Tali, Kaidan, and from what I understand, Ash (I can't speak for her since I've never really talked that much with her) are already damn close to admitting that they've got feelings for Shepard regardless of sex. Chalk Tali up to not being fully versed on humans' customs regarding s/s romance and you have that- it'd be far less abrupt than her "suddenly xeno" for Shepard.  Kaidan and Ash could easily come to realize exactly how they feel about Shepard after Horizon.  Garrus is a Shepard fanboy; I can see him happily taking it to the next level if Shepard makes his intentions clear.  As for the rest, I'm not sure.  I don't doubt it could be done; I just don't have any theories.

Less preferable would be a limited number of s/s options...For example, if Thane had stayed as the only s/s option, my MSheps would've stayed celibate.

A gender on/off switch would be highly offensive, but if it was the only way for s/s content to be implimented, I'd take it.  I'd probably still grumble about it, but whatever, I'd still buy, play, and more than likely enjoy the game.

As much as I think some variant of the DA2-method would be best to give everyone the most enjoyment from the game's romance aspects, and as much as I'd love to romance Tali with one of my FemSheps... I do have to say that that ship has pretty much sailed already for the Mass Effect trilogy.

If any of the LI girls in ME2, or Ashley for that matter, were truly interested in Shepard I think they'd have made some noise about that. At least Miranda and Tali, while I could conceivably see Jack not being interested and later changing her mind for whatever reason.

As far as the guys go, it'd work better. Kaidan could definitely be bi, and there could be some interesting conversation when a gay MaleShep finds out that Alenko's dated guys. Thane could also be a good candidate.

On second thought... I take back what I said about Miranda. Thinking back to her files from LotSB, it's possible that she chose to suppress an attraction towards FemShep because she was so dead-set on producing genetically awesome babies. Finding out that she's unable to have children might have changed her attitude there for ME3.

Lastly... as far as all-new LIs go? If there are any, I think they should definitely be bisexual. One man and a proper Kelly-romance, maybe?

I would not count out the existing love interest yet; Tali and Garrus were made options because of fan request. Hopefully our wishes reach as high.

Regarding how to implement same sex content, the "everyone is bi" solution may be the best one. That way, everyone gets the story they want, the person they want. Further inproving the system would be adding the conversation icons from Dragon Age 2 to the Mass Effect series. In that way no one would accidently fall into a romance, they would have to purposely go after it. Yeah, people would complain, but I would wager that the number of people complaining would be less than the number of people who would love it.

Sorry to snip, but this is what I think we should all keep in mind when we're feeling down and blue. There are far fewer people who would feel sufficiently moved to complain about any implementation of s/s content than there would be people who would sit at home and quietly play it, either excited and glad the content is there, or not bothered either way.

But back to the original question: I would love an all-bi route in future BW games, simply because of the choice it gives everyone. Everyone gets the same choice. Hell yeah! But, like JediMB, I too believe that ship has sailed as regards this ME trilogy. At this stage, the inclusion of 1 awesome bisexual character for my Sheploo will be just great.

The whole every character is bi route is dumb it's like walking into a room and everyone conveniently showed up in same green outfit highly unlikely and adds doubt to the realistic qualities of the game not to mention your want is going to force some people either to play through it once and never touch it again or never buy it in the first place.

I agree, things like the realistic qualities of controlling dark matter through the use of amps in your body just adds to that sense of realism.

I'm not sure I'm for an all bisexual option either. Yes, it would be the easiest route to making as many people happy as possible without having too much complexity, but the easiest way isn't necessarily the best way. I'd like to see some solely gay characters, some bisexual characters, and some straight characters. I don't necessarily have to have access to every character as a love interest.
