Quick reminder to stay away from real-world discussion of homosexuality. Bringing 'normality' into things gets ugly quickly. Not to mention probably insensitive.
I know it's a very bad habit of mine. But I really wish that they would let us vote on stuff like this.

@Saeran Actually, depended on how things are done, I will care.
Well you own Mass Effect 2 and I assume you enjoyed it alot from your presence on these forums. Did the pandering to Talimancers / Garrusmancers cause you to care enough to rage about it?
I personally couldn't care less what options they take, whether it be Kaiden, James Sanders, I will take anyone. Purely because I don't currently have that option. People seem to think this is a zero sum game, i.e +1 for me would be -1 for someone else. Why shouldn't I have ANY option at all?

The idea of the M/M romances in DA2 were handled really well if you ask me, where they emphasize the beauty of the person rather then the gender, and if some people would be a bit more openminded, they'd be able to appreciate that concept. Having said that, the concept actually works better in ME then it would in the DA line of games, seeing cross-species romances focus on the 'beauty of the person' already really, and it's nothing if not.. odd, to want to get it down with a character like Garrus.. or Thane. If we heterosexuals can see ourselves be interested in something like that, then what the hell is the problem to extend that thought onto homosexual options?
This is not me saying going for any of the aliens would make you weird obviously. I went for Garrus, then for Thane myself =)
Anyways, I'd find it odd (to say the least) if they would leave the option out of ME3 while they did it for DA2.
And those that don't like it? Tough cookie, that's life folks. Learn to live with it.

From what I heard, Tali was actually supposed to be romanceable in ME1, but it was scrapped. But like I said, its only what I heard.
I am not against having gay or bi characters in ME3, just having current LIs suddenly becoming bi.

I'm sure BioWare is really aware of that happening and would scapegoat using the Rating as a point in defense. Which is true, but of a better mind shouldn't indulg in something they know will happen and might not be good for the story.
And why wouldn't it be good for the story? You don't have to play as a gay Shepard, it's your personal choice. And the ratings aren't a scape goat, they are there for a reason. It comes down that old argument of, well you don't mind yourself/your kid going around shooting the place up, killing lots and lots of people, but a bit of homosexuality that you can choose to/not to pursue... Well that is damned well out of order.
That's fine, I don't post my opinions just to have an debatable argument over it.

I'd say no just to the chance of that kind of exposure to a possible minor. Parents are ignorant as it is to buy these games for kids too young when Ratings say otherwise. BioWare shouldn't just to avoid bad publicity they'll receive from the parents who feel stupid for buying the game. And vent their pain through protests. <----- Lol it could happen.
Then that's the parents fault for buying a 15+ game for someone who isn't 15+. That's not BioWare's fault or anyone elses, it's bad parenting and can't be used as an excuse.
Actually when it comes to games, there's this really bizzare double standard unofficially in place. It doesn't matter what rating the game has for whatever content, many parents are still under the impression that they're for all ages.
Back when I worked at Blockbuster Video, I lost count how many parents who were firmly against thier kids renting any movies with graphic nudity and/or violence in them that would go through the roof if you didn't rent to them the game of thier choice despite said game having the exact same content they wouldn't allow the kid to be exposed to in a movie.
Hell, you still see this double standard at points with comic books despite the medium having proven it can be fore mature audiences only and you still get some parents thinking comics are for kids.

And here we return to the assumption that gay people aren't "men's men". Funnily enough, that is exactly what I am attracted to so that's a false argument. And are you saying the Sacred Band of Thebes weren't "men's men"?

And I forgot to mention, Kaiden was originally written as bi and all the lines were voice acted and included in the PC version of the game. So why would it be ok for Tali to be intended to be romanceable in ME 1, not put in, put in ME 2 but the same can't be said for Kaiden who we barely see in ME 2?

Go look them up, you might be surprised, and no you won't catch "teh gay" from researching it.
@ point 2, not all gay men are effeminate queens you know. No one would guess that I was gay, in fact absolutely no one knew until I told them. I don't personally "like" (for lack of a better word) the camp, effeminate scene. But that isn't what being gay means. I don't want a gay/bisexual character who comes in a rainbow suit of armor on the back of his amazing unicorn of homosexualness. I just want a normal character.. who happens to have an interest in Shepard.

I think you forgot a word. Or maybe this is a case of Freudian slips.
Actually, I think I know what you meant, but it's still funny. Either way, you do what you feel needs to be done, I suppose. Regardless... I really don't think ME3 will come out like DA2.

Plus we've got the 'middle ground' of bisexuals, who, asfar as I know from personal experience can certainly come across as hetero as any real 'mans-man'. It's all in what we WANT to (or don't want to) see isn't it. Not how the world actually is, in the end.

The avatar tells me nothing, potential dude or dudette. All sorts of people -- including 'men's men' -- often use female avatars on websites for various reasons. In my case, I did it because I felt like this angle of this particular character was the best out of a set of extremely limited options... but with a name like 'Jeff', I'd hope you think me male.
