I was thinking: to people who say that it's too late in the trilogy for more romances, don't forget that Bioware still want to attract significantly more sales and fans to the series for the third game, if possible. Somehow I don't think a new player to the series would be happy with a romance that was conducted via a comic book choice (a la the PS3 version of ME2), and then had to feign a connection to the character for all of ME3.

It's still likely, from what we've seen (and how much Bioware has been pushing the accessibility of the third game for new players), that new romances will be included for ME3. I would be surprised, frankly, if there weren't. Just a thought.

@mak ... I quite agree.

@Elite ... you're right of course. While the trilogy is on the one hand meant to be a continuation, on the other ME2 was all about attracting new customers to the franchise, and ME3 won't be any different in that regard. I don't know which road they'll go down as far as romances are concerned (s/s aside). I could see it work either way ... just having previous LIs and allowing their romances to be initiated for the first time in ME3 as well as continued if there was a previous one; or having one or 2 new LIs as well for something fresh. My gut thinks it'll be the latter, but it's never good to second guess what they will do.

I've been avoiding this site like the plague to avoid Mass Effect 3 spoilers, but this thread has grown like 80 pages in two or three weeks. Something planned for ME3 or just speculation?

I'm really, really hoping Bioware adds M/M romances for ME3. All the other romance options essentially don't exist for me. Besides, with Kelly, Liara, and Morinth there are already F/F romances, so why not M/M?

Asari aren't female.
