I'm ok with this as long as I don't see even a hint of it in the game I play, no hearts indicating possible romantic interests, no weird conversations about how they are falling for me...pretty much anything Anders did in DA2 I don't want to see it. Otherwise people enjoy whatever the hell they want..although I m/m Shepard does make me sad, I'll just avoid the fanart lol
I disliked that conversation with Anders too, where being nice leads to him coercing Hawke into a romance. Or trying to. But considering it was that way for both male and female Hawkes, it was obviously more of a problem with his romance than how they implemented the same sex content. With Fenris, Merrill and Isabela, it effectively wasn't there if you didn't pursue it.

Yea the rest were done ok, the game it self was still meh though, I just don't want a second helping of Anders...but either way if I have the option to turn it off in game or for the game to recognize that I pursued female love interests in the last game and not bring it up in ME3 then I'm good to go.

And as long as I'm not forced to acknowledge Miranda's odd-looking buttcrack, or speak to Jacob as though I am the lewdest person on earth, so am I.

Yeah I really shouldn't have had to pay extra to get Miranda in some decent armor. That's ridiculous. :/
I'm naively hoping it's a sign that there will be less spandex suits in ME3. I can't stop staring at that woman's arse.

I'm really, really hoping Bioware adds M/M romances for ME3. All the other romance options essentially don't exist for me. Besides, with Kelly, Liara, and Morinth there are already F/F romances, so why not M/M?
Asari aren't female.
Despite the recent interview calling them an all female race.
I guess that means ME2s codex is wrong, too, if I'm remembering right.
Bioware have final say on how Asari reproduction works as they only exist in Mass Effect
However, females do exist in the real world and most of us have some idea what they are and so are able to challenge the Bioware definition of a female (especially as Bioware are not united on this)
Personally I consider Asari to be an exotic gender (between hermaphrodite and female) which does not exist in the real world - calling them all female is simpler than defining a new gender just for them.
(of course Kelly is female...unless she is a secret transvestite or transexual)

Gender is not the same as sex.
As for the question of hiding the same sex romances to those who wish to avoid them... I'm fine with that as long as I'm not forced into awkward dialogue like that with Jacob. It should work both ways. >.>

I've been avoiding this site like the plague to avoid Mass Effect 3 spoilers, but this thread has grown like 80 pages in two or three weeks. Something planned for ME3 or just speculation?
The page growth can largely be attributed to trolling and some heated debates. Fortunately, the thread has cooled down a bit.
Unfortunately, we only have speculation on what will be included in ME3.... most of us are 'hoping' for m/m content, but not holding our breath. However, I'm actually kinda optimistic.
Me too.
Hmm...
Well I must say I'm in that optimistic bunch as well. And best of luck with this trolls. I would assist, but this website is spoiler town, and filled with people that if you gave them a screwdriver and duct tape they'll find out where the moon landing was faked and who really shot JFK. So until the game premieres (or I pop in for another quick update) I bid ye gentlemen and women adieu.
Remember, fight nice!

So true, both about gender not being the same as sex, and with the forced Jacob romance dialogue. Really put me off him, even though it shouldn't.
At least with Anders you could shut down the romance (although sadly there was no 'sorry bruv, I prefer ladies' option, there was just 'gtfo of my face'.) With Jacob you just had to avoid talking to him. Ever. Which is a shame, because maybe I could have grown to like him if I could only stomach femShep's voice when talking to him.
"I'm more interesting in just talking for a while." If you're interesting in talking, then why must you say it in that 'take me now' voice?! Ahem.

Since my FemShep is gay, it's obviously because she saw through Jacob's disguise and figured out that he was a woman.

Finally, a valid reason for my Shepard's vocal quirks during that conversation! Then again, she was supposed to be completely devoted to Liara too. Let's hope a certain information broker wasn't watching that interaction. >.>

@jediMB Not to mention those tentacles may signify a relation to acquatic/amphibian/reptilan animals on earth. Like on earth, a relation between animals based on appearances always indicates a biological similarity as well.
It's been mentioned that asari have a design influence based on aquatic life so that's entirely a possibility.

What do ya'll think?

I would like a shirt like that, but only if there was in fact no gayness involved or even hinted at, because it would make me uncomfortable wearing a shirt with stuff like that so close to my skin.
The existance of such a shirt also makes my entire wardrobe filled with gay-related stuff, obviously, and it gets even worse, because if there's even a single pro-Gay shirt, I would be forced to purchase it, for the sake of completion.
Also, that is not the original black-with-white-and-red-stripes N7 armour Shepard wore for the first two games. Suddenly changing his appearance to match a shirt designed for a specific audience simply does not make sense.
But pro-lesbian shirts are A-OKAY, AMIRITE!?

If you don't mind my asking, what is it with Asari biology that makes you not consider them truly female?
Also, have you read about parthenogenesis and the New Mexico whiptail?
ultimately because sex is the key defining quality definng male and female
Asari reproduction is not aesexual like the whiptail but requires a mate to take on the male role.
As Asari can take on both male and female roles they can be considered a form of hermaphrodite despite there being no dedicated male organ involved (thus enabling non Asari of any gender to be father of an Asari child).
Now if you can find a real-world species which reproduces by joining nervous systems with mates through skin contact then we may have a more meaningful comparison.
I will add that I do consider Asari to be feminine in physique and stereotypical personality traits and they are consistantly addressed/described with female words.

Some forms of psychodidae and other insects reproduce by automixis a sexual form of parthenogenesis that is very similar to what Asari do, with the only difference that Asari need a partner to start ( however even amongst Asari it is disputed if the partner has any influence on the offspring ). Individuals that reproduce by automixis are biologically considerd female, even though they never produce fully developed ova, since biology is not as strict with it´s definitions.Get Magna Carter wrote...

Not that their actual sex really matters, since their gender is so paifully obvious female that a human needs to be blind, deaf and (in the universe) without sense of touch to not register them as female and treat them as such.

I'm just posting here to apologize for that one time and that other time when I insulted all of you.
I get hot-headed sometimes, and end up saying more than I mean to.
Anyway, I'm still against making all LIs bisexual because that'd feel forced, IMO.
That's all.
