Also, they are an all-female race from a human viewpoint. Like in my previous example, From a human in our unicerse, the humans in that parallel universe are all vegetarians. But for the humans in that parallel universe, vegetarian has no meaning. Meat is just a new kind of food for them.

I'm confused too. You're ok with Liara who you (being human, presumably) view as female and sleeps with both men and women... So what is it exactly about bisexuals/homosexuals that upsets you so? The way they dress?

Because many people will not like it. I want to romance a straight character, ok? Not a homosexual one. And turning old straight characters into homosexuals is going to ****** off many people, including me. Adding NEWhomosexual characters is not going to meet great opposition. Or it might meet, and Bioware will not add a same-sex romance option for ME3 at all.

So there is no way a bisexual character could be included that you could tolerate because you think homosexuality "is wrong" so you don't want any hint of it in your game.

You are a perfect example of the kind of person David Gaider was referring to when he responded to someone complaining about ss in da2:

"You can write it off as "political correctness" if you wish, but the truth is that privilege always lies with the majority. They're so used to being catered to that they see the lack of catering as an imbalance. They don't see anything wrong with having things set up to suit them, what's everyone's fuss all about? That's the way it should be, any everyone else should be used to not getting what they want."

Your stance is extremely selfish, intolerant and unfair. If you can't see that, or (worse) can, but think it's acceptable, then I want nothing more to do with you.

If you read what I have written, you would see that I have not said anything like that anywere. Same-sex romance if fine by me, and by most players, if NEW characters open to same-sex romance are introduced.

As I said before, I'm not entirely comfortable with the Liara/female Shepard too.

@Bill: How exactly are you comfortable with new characters being romanceable by the same sex but not comfortable with Liara/FemShep? That really doesn't make any sense.

I am not saying I am comfortable with it, I am saying it is ok with me. Players who want a same-sex romance option are not too many, but quite a few and I believe that a new same-sex romance option is the best solution between the two sides.

Sorry, I must have misread that given the context of the rest of your post.

So we're back to the original point of existing characters being available to both genders. How does that even effect you though? If you don't see it in your game, how does that make any difference at all? And what if a new character is introduced that is bisexual? Would you never romance them because they are bisexual? Have you never romanced Liara for that reason?

Just trying to get a feel for where your problem with this actually lies. I'm a tad confused about that.

I am going to kill myself. *exhales tired* I will quote myself again explaining why I don't want existing characters to become open to same-sex romance:

Anyway, think of  Abraham Lincoln's quote: Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power.
So, if a person has some bad qualities in him that haven't got the chance to surface (no DLC) it doesn't mean that they don't exist. Under the right circumstances, in this example when a man is given power, regarding ME3 when you install the same-sex romance DLC, they will surface.
ElitePinecone wrote...Secondly, I'm struggling to work out how the option of a same-sex romance would affect the character in the slightest.
You're presumably playing as a maleShep romancing Tali, from your posts above.
You'd *never* see the same-sex option unless you played as a female Shepard and specifically romanced the character, assuming the option existed. In the 'universe' of your maleShep playthrough, she's a quarian with a fetish for male humans (as odd as that is). In 'another' universe of another player's game, she might not romance anybody at all. In a third universe, she romances someone's femShep because they picked the option.
Options don't become reality until someone choose them - the capacity to be something doesn't make it so, especially if you choose the opposite.

Because in all these three universes Tali was identical until she met Shepard. Then her actions were affected by Shepard's actions and thse three universes started differentiating. Also, Shepard's actions didn't change Tali's opinion on relationships. So, if Tali is open to same-sex romance option in one universe, she is open to same-sex romance in all universes.

Just like myself, most players wouldn't like to see their LI becoming open to a same-sex romance option. So, this is why I don't want to see any old characters becoming open to same-sex romance.

No, I wouldn't romance them. Because even in real life I woulnd't have a relationship with a bisexual person. Regarding Liara, I didn't romance her, but that wasn't the reason. I liked Tali.

I would guess...Biphobia.

Or, "I'm straight and I'm special and the game should reflect that, hahahah!"

I just don't want my LI (and most players too) becoming open to same-sex romance.

So it's more of a "My canon is more valid and important than your canon." type thing.

Bill, are you afraid of catching something? >.>

Shouldn't it be important to love someone for who they are and not for who they've slept with previously?

Also, the guys on the team don't fit the bisexual/homosexual kind of person. I mean can you even imagine a male Shepard/Garrus romance option?

-EDIT-

Especially Kaidan.

Typical, it's all about the size. <_<

ETA: I think you'll find there's just as many males who like his badassery.

Ok, to speak frankly I would never have a relationship with a bisexual person. Why? Because I believe that homosexuality is a mental/psychological illness/problem/whatever. Caused by our own society to be exact. Homosexuals belive that their sexual orientation is ok, but in fact they are doing against nature. The only occasion that I would find homosexuality normal is when the person has a hormonal issue. In all other cases, homosexuals chose to become homosexuals, or were somehow convinced that they are.

Please don't reply to this. Centauri2002 simply asked my opinion on the matter and I gave it.

I'm not going to engage in a dialogue with you about that, Bill, don't worry. I don't agree with you. I never will. But it's only your opinion so it doesn't bother me.

Yes, including myself. But that fanbase mainly consists of ladies. Casey Hudson said in one of his interviews: Initially we didn't know how people would react to the aliens. We were surprised when we learn that many people wanted a relationship with Garrus who has an exosceleton.

It's not your LI. It's anybody's, everybody's

And why do care so much about what happens in someone else's game ?

Many people can't imagine female shepard/garrus pairing, human/turian pairing for that matter.

But the option is there and it's great.

How human/turian is more imaginable than two human females or two human males ?

If you've seen the polls, you'll see there are quite a number of people who want to romance existing characters too with the same gender. But apparently one is right, the other is wrong. On another note, why is it okay to have a sexual relationship with an alien? Something that isn't even human? There's no chance of producing a child so clearly it's unnatural, by your logic.
