Do you have any idea how large is the Garrus fanbase?

Do you think I care?

Why are they more important than people that want s/s content?

Because they are more.

At the moment, there are more of us who think your specific view is wrong than who think you're right. Does that make our view more important than yours?

'More' is relative.  Well, there are probably far more people that would have liked to have another romanceable female over Garrus (given that most of the ME fanbase is male).   Now, this fanbase is the minority in comparison to another....so why were they catered to?

If you've seen the polls, you'll see there are quite a number of people who want to romance existing characters too with the same gender. But apparently one is right, the other is wrong. On another note, why is it okay to have a sexual relationship with an alien? Something that isn't even human? There's no chance of producing a child so clearly it's unnatural, by your logic.

I don't think that's true the only poll I've seen is was shared with people for/don't care and the majority don't care about this option and feel that people can do whatever they want to with their own character in their own game.  Unless there is another poll going around I haven't seen.

Yes, including myself. But that fanbase mainly consists of ladies. Casey Hudson said in one of his interviews: Initially we didn't know how people would react to the aliens. We were surprised when we learn that many people wanted a relationship with Garrus who has an exosceleton.

Because the romancable aliens may have great physical differences from humans, but their minds are similar to a human's. They are humans with alien forms.

I didn't specify what the "quite the number" was, but if you purely look at the Liara/FemShep numbers then it's pretty evident that the appeal is there. I'll need to find the poll I saw that in but, if I remember correctly, the numbers of FemShep/Liara were above MaleShep/Liara in regards to overall relationship choices for all FemShep/MaleSheps.

Because Garrus is a bro and it's really cool being able to save the universe with your best friend, not everything has to be about sex damn lol...besides bros before you know..

What are you talking about? You were just saying how different the asari views were to our own so now you're contradicting yourself. Not only that but are you now saying that homosexuals aren't human?

What has the mind got to do with physical reproduction?

I think that might be because we as men if we decide to do a female playthrough will try to pick a female companion if its possible...:innocent:  Yes I know we are pigs, even in DA:O when I played my female dwarf commoner she was in a s/s relationship because I did not want to romance a guy.  I don't know if that is a common trend, but I think it's more people than you think.

For Bioware, whatever sells more is more important. So, for Bioware my opinion is more important than yours because althought right now there are more people supporting your opinion, the player community as a whole mostly agrees with my opinion.

Yes it does.  You said there were 'probably' more people that wanted a romanceable female over Garrus since most of the ME fanbase is male.  I told you that is wrong because as a male I would rather have someone as bro as Garrus along for the ride instead of another throwaway romance.

No, I think most people are aware of this.

Loads of straight guys like to play f/f romances and loads of straight women like to play m/m romances.  Which means that the fanbase that enjoys s/s romances (regardless of their orientation) is significant in size.

If we are sticking to the numbers argument, BW should take fanbase seriously when designing romances.

Because they are more.

I just checked the groups here on the network. And the only character group significantly bigger than the Fight for the Love group is Tali´s. The group of Garrus and Miranda are about the same size and the groups of the others are way smaller.

If right now all humans became female, our society wouldn't differ greatly from the asari's.

I'm tempted to post a pic of a dog smiling with the caption "lol wat, I dont even", but I understand meme pics are not allowed here so I won't.

Anyway, I think jwalker nailed by saying Tali is not only your LI, Bill569, but the LI of every person who bought the game. Sorry, but Tali is as much anyone else's LI as she is yours. If you play Manshep, don't worry, she will always be straight for you. She won't catch teh gay in your game. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask you not to be bothered by what happens in other people's computers.

You say that you don't want existing characters to become bi because you don't want your LI to become bi. Well, now imagine for a second your LI is Ashley instead of Tali. I have a Femshep/Ashley romance linked in my signature. All of those videos, you won't see a second of it in your game. Not one pixel of those videos will ever be displayed on your computer screen. Are you saying that wouldn't be enough? Not only you don't want to see that, but you also want to forbid everyone else in the world to experience it? Come on. You must understand I can't agree on you imposing upon me your views in my game, my house, my computer screen.

That's quite the arrogant view you have there.

I don't consider my opinion more important than yours. Because it's just that - an opinion. It's affected by my own experiences and my own views on the world, which are very different to yours. I also don't believe BioWare thinks yours are more important either.

Now I call BS on that, I'm afraid. Cite your source or I'm not buying it.

Oh, sorry!  I think you misunderstood.

I meant replace Garrus' romance with another female romance, but not replace Garrus himself.

So, you would still have Garrus on your squad and he would still be your bro, but they would have made Kasumi a romance option instead of him.

Just a tiny reminder to keep real-world sociopolitical discussion about same-sex relationships to a minimum - things can turn nasty.

*ahem* Carry on, good people!

Edit: Also, civility is nice... :/

And your point..? Anatomically we are so different from other species that we cannot produce children with them.

You say that it's still viable because they are still 'human on the inside'. Last I checked, so were homosexuals. So that should make homosexuality perfectly fine as well.

What f/f options would you like to see put into the game? What m/m options would you like to see in the game?

I am only saying that Bioware will try to satisfy as many players as possible. So, for Bioware it is more important to include a relationship with Garrus in ME2 than a same-sex one, because that way it will satisfy more people.

No, personally I don't believe my opinion is more important than any other's.
