Bioware: Well, female Shepard isn't really with Cerberus. She's with that offshoot faction of Cerberus that merely resembles Cerberus in every way, save a few cosmetic details.

Bioware: Okay, yes, female Shepard can liaise with an actual Cerberus member, but it only lasts for, like, two seconds. It's not a relationship or anything.
Fans: No, seriously, we need an explanation here. Why say that Shepard is "pre-defined" as an Alliance soldier, but then allow female Shepard to remain loyal to Cerberus? It doesn't make sense.
