Yeah I commented on that in the Liara thread. But Liara's sexuality or sex isn't the issue, it's FemShep's that he so craftily avoided. >.<

I'm dangerously close to calling the Mass Effect team homophobic. No straight answers, its just only been equivocation and changing the subject. All they need to do is just say that money and development is the issue, but they haven't so far; just only contradictory comments on ManShep as a "established character" and asari sexuality and not FemShep's.

I just don't think it's plausible for everyone around Shepard to suddenly turn gay. And Shepard gained their trust and loyalty throughout the game and they talked to him about everything,but nobody ever mentioned being gay or bi(except for Jack).

Grunt - a muscle. No interest in romance,only wants good fight. Highly unlikely to be any kind of LI. Respects Shepard.

Samara - talked about her daughter,her Code and life as a justicar,talked about her early life. Shows interest for male Shep,but does not follow it through because of her Code. Don't know is it same for Fem Shep. Trusts Shepard and considers him/her a good friend.

Morinth - didn't talk much,but finds Shepard interesting and shows interest for him (maybe her too,haven't tried). Impossible to be a LI,because Shepard would die,and she isn't a kind of person who will settle for purely emotional relationship.

Jack - talked about her crimes,people she hang out with,her chilhood,revealed that she is bisexual. Can truly open herself to male Shep and develop serious relationship,never showed any interest in Fem Shep,but she begins to trust her. Possible F/F LI in ME3.

Tali - talked about Migrant Fleet,her father. Seems to have had feelings for male Shep from before. Never showed interest in Fem Shep,but trusts her and thinks of her as a good friend.

Garrus - talked about C-sec,his father,his opinion on Cerberus,Spectres,handling Saren,betrayal,talked about his relationship with female turian. Possible LI for Fem Shep,never showed such interest for male Shep. Many consider him Shep's closest friend.

Zaeed - talks mainly about his past missions,situation with Vido,shares opinions on the rest of the team. Not really a guy for romantic relationship.

Kasumi - talks about Keji,her past heists,but mainly gives opinion on other teammates. Unlikley to be a squadmate in ME3,but still possible LI for both male and female Shepard.

Legion - an AI. That's enough.

Kaidan - talks about biotic camp and girl he met there(had feelings for her),often gives opinion on the Council,mission,aliens,many situations. Possible LI for Fem Shep,never showed interest in male Shep but respects and trusts him.

Ashley - talked about her family issues,religion,poetry,shared opinions on aliens,mission and many other things. Possible LI for male Shep,never showed interest in female Shep but respects her.

Wrex - talked about genophage,his family and past on Tuchanka. Considers Shepard a friend,but never showed interest for romantic relationship. Unlikely to be a LI in ME3.

Especially considering teenage boys are more likely to grab a game that has lesbians in it.  They don't have to worry about icky gay males. ME is sure to keep them out of sight and out of mind.

Sad thing is I actually wouldn't have had an issue with a game with no s/s romances. I play them all time. It's the double standards, the dishonesty and the stupid excuses (oh Shepard is the one predefined to be straight even when she's not).

I really wish that people could tell the difference between "gay" and "bisexual" in this thread. I keep seeing arguments about "Making Kaidan gay!!!!" when what we've all discussed is revealing that Kaidan is bisexual. NOT gay. Bisexual. It's a different thing.

Honestly I think Kaidan is the best choice because the most homophobic players already made sure he bit the dust on Virmire, because in their undeveloped minds saving a dude over a chick totally makes you gay.

Tali and Garrus never showed any interest in Shep in the first game though, it was entirely platonic. Besides, with the right writing,  Bioware could make any character jump borders, just look at Thane.

He's a single father who's son nearly became a crimminal if not for Shep's help. Who says that he's not bisexual and put off his personal desires like Samara for redemption?

Asari clearly aren't asexual, and they're only 'omnisexual' from their perspective - to a human, like femShep, any relationship with an asari would be a lesbian one by any reasonable human standards.

I'm importing an mShep/Kaidan romance, in any case. If it works, it works.

That's an amusing way to put it. 

And yeah I'll do the last bit as well. If it doesn't work I'll just import my widower and as usual dodge all advances. I better not be forced into a situation like in DAO where Shepard has to have sex with a sexy female or die. <_<

@Ghost Warrior: No one said anything about making everyone gay. At the most, one bisexual option for each gender is what the majority of people are asking.

As for your list of characters and their history, I don't see what most of that has to do with anything. Liara, Samara and Morinth all have the possibility of finding FemShep attractive and vice versa. A lot of the other characters could be bisexual for all you know.

I don't see many things in your list that would count against a bisexual romance being plausible.

Given the giant tantrum they threw because of Anders' come-on in DA2, I wouldn't be surprised if everyone at BioWare lies awake at night trying to think of ways they can accommodate these idiots.

The question he got was specifically asking about 'no new love interests'. 

I'm so confused. Is this a good thing? 

Perhaps the extra development time is facilitating a rethink?

Not to mention, asexual or omnisexual—it puts FemShep AND MaleShep in a non-heterosexual relationship with the asari. Funny how all the "Liara-isn't-female-so-FemShep-isn't-gay" types completely avoided addressing this point when I brought it up.
