"Why can fShep identify as gay and pursue a relationship appropriate to that orientation when mShep can't? A double standard?"
Casey Hudson
"Valid questions, and ones that we're discussing internally. Much yet to be revealed regarding #ME3"

And my respect has risen from the grave.
If they actually acknowledge Liara's a female they'll get 20 kudos. They're currently at -15 kudos though.

Now this is promising. Even if he's not hinting at extra content, it looks like we might actually get some answers. Thanks for linking.

Yes, that's me.
His earlier tweet about asexual annoyed me, so I felt moved to comment further on the issue. It's a question that has upset me for some time.
I have no idea what his reply to me means. I think we should be cautious and not assume it means there will be something for us in ME3. But there it is, nonetheless.

I think in the state we are in that any news is good news, relatively speaking of course! Thing is I know they aren't really going to discuss particulars till a month or so out of release and I can't see us getting special confirmation about s/s LI's no matter how richly deserved it would be.
Also thanks for continuing to ask stuff through twitter, I think it we keep it polite(again relatively!) and persistent we might finally start to get some results.

Someone should tweet to him what the codex says, though. It specifically states they are not asexual.

PC Gamer: So it’s all existing characters… I’m just trying to think what gay or lesbian characters that gives you. That would leave Liara?
Casey Hudson: Well yeah, it’s going to be similar to Mass Effect 1 and 2. Like I say, we’re not introducing any new characters that are going to be love interests. There’s some new characters, but generally it’s going to be the interplay between the characters from 2 and the returning ones from 1, and then Liara as the one that’s… either asexual or omnisexual, depends on how you look at it.

Maybe you've seen this already but it sounds like the're still toeing the same old party line of there being no homosexuality in ME:
I don't think he's denying that FemShep/Liara is a homosexual relationship there, he's just pointing out that Liara isn't LGBT in the conventional way.

But there's also Kelly. And people have been tweeting him that the codex say Liara IS female so maybe he finally got the message.Em23 wrote...
That's true, but that's been their excuse for not letting mshep express his gayness too (ie the predefined shep line) so it's not a good sign when they start down that road again.... But their refusal to give a direct answer could be a good sign...
Even if Asari weren't truly female, you'd still have to be attracted to the feminine aesthetic to be attracted to them. It's undeniably lesbian on the human's side. I'm sure Casey realizes this.
Way to leave us with baited breath, Casey!Much yet to be revealed regarding #ME3"

Breasts, female pronouns, maternal instincts, goddess-worship, feminine manners.
Asari aren't women at all.

Not only do they use female pronouns but the male pronouns have no equivelant (or basically doesn't exist) in their language.
