Yay! That's definitely good news.:o
Though I would've never thought to get a confirmation this early.
Well, party time!

While I think it's cool that Bioware is giving more options. I just hope they don't go the route of DA2 and turn everyone BI. I felt that cheapend it somewhat.

In a perfect universe, everyone would be bi.  However, Mass Effect is not a perfect universe, and therefore I expect mostly exclusively straight people.

And maybe one ridiculously, absurdly, on-the-spot-make-you-orgasm hot exclusively gay or lesbian character.  JUST TO ****** PEOPLE OFF.

It should hopefully be with the new LIs since we're gettingsome.

So no one has to fear their favorite LI being "retconned" (even if some of their LIs have *already* been retconned for them to romance in the first place).

I don't see problems with the ME-ME2 LI that become bisexual. I'm more worried about the possibility that some ME2 LI will not be treated as other LI (hope that Bioware resolve my doubts soon).
Anyway, it's a good news. I'm glad that they finally have the time/resources to implement it.

Is it pathetic that I'm actually verklempt over this? Of course it might have something to do with working 21 days straight without a day off, having very little free time to do things like eat, sleep and play games, etc. Or it could just be that I really like it when people do the kind, compassionate, and inclusive thing.:kissing:

That's what I hope for. If I dare say. Having certain characters turn BI would just seem out-of-character and forced.

i think some would be more natural than others.

like garrus being bi is a real stretch, i mean its already a bit odd that he's a taurian being romantically involved with a human, but to make it a gay relationship as well would be even weirder. i mean how would that even work?

however, kaidan would feel pretty natural to make him bi. with proper writing of course.

actualyl the more human they appear the easier time i'd have accepting them as bi. ya know?

but until i seem them mucking it up with awkward writing im gonna assume its all gonna be well done.

Ha! I think most people were already pissed off when Samara ditched them. ;)

But really. I just hope they do it with new characters. Having certains characters right now (Garrus, Ashley and Kaidan) turn bi would seem forced and OOC IMO.

They're finally doing what they should have done in ME2?

A Tali/Femshep romance will be a work of art compared to that blunt, derivative Mshep drivel.

Also, a Garrus Mshep romance would be beautiful in that it crosses boundries art has never dreamed to cross.

The sinewy, human male flesh forever intertwined with the rough, hard turian male flesh will forever alter our perception of art.

It will make the Garrus/femshep romance look like an amateur porno.

It will be glorious.

I would LOVE to be retconned. I'd be bisexual, and I'd have better skin. I'd also lose about 5 pounds. ;)

Yeah, I can't see Garrus or Jacob being bi.  It'd fulfill my darkest fantasies, but it ain't happening.  Same for Miranda and Ashley (although that, too, would be hot as hell).  Even Jack made it clear she doesn't swing that way, and Thane seems to like the ladies.  So does Kaidan.

Tali COULD have been bi (since she's gaga for Sheppykins either way), but Mother of God, imagine the fanboy rage...

Alas, I can write a smut fic as well as the next lonely nerd.  Or mod.  Muahaha.

Just popped in to say congratulations to everyone here. The rational, polite and constructive determination paid off in the end. Not to mention the hissy fits and tantrums. Every little bit helps. ;)

It's great news and I'm pleased for those who weren't being catered to before. ^^

Best news ever!

HA, bloody well knew it. I knew one of the reasons they decided to push back the release date was to go back and make those who were originally romanceable in development, then unromanceable in release, back to romanceable for ME3. I mean, come on. Bioware said they wanted to appeal to a "wider market." They said the same thing in regards to DA2 and what happened? No LIs were gender-restricted.

This is AWESOME news. *stares at her 360* Hm, this means I need to create several new Sheps if this really does mean my fem!Sheps can romance Ash, Miranda, Jack or Tali. Same goes for Kaidan, Thane, Joker (if he's not romanceable, I'll eat my laptop; yes, the laptop I'm using to write this comment), and Garrus if they're romanceable for my m!Sheps. Boy, completing all of these runs is gonna take at least until early next year to complete. Hey, it gives me something to do to pass the time until ME3 is in hand, right? *rubs her hands together* Ehhhhxcellent.

EDIT: Just changed some wording.

I don't understand how it would be any different. I mean its already an interspecies relationship, at that point I don't really think gender would matter much at all. I mean, its an entirely different species with entirely different anatomies, culture, gender roles, etc.

Indeed.  I'd much prefer a well-developed friendship path with EVERYONE, really--I banged Garrus for the extra dialogue.

I just hope they do this tastefully. I remember the "Straight Male Gamer" thread in the DA2 forums...that was a riot. The best part of it was the eloquence to which David Gaider put down the homophobic notions.

Although I am straight, I do appreciate the fact that Bioware is willing to let gays, etc roleplay to the same degree of freedom as I can.
