I thought that part was funny! Still, the romances felt hollow to me.

Funny, the ME romances and two of the four DAO felt hollow to me, not the DA2 romances. I don't judge romances because the body part they like -_-

Oh this is amazing. I've just declared my love for BioWare all over facebook and various other places.

I play FemShep and only FemShep but this news means I may just play a male Shep for a few runs of ME3 (because this is a game I will be playing a lot!)

If Varric was a bi option I'd never romance anyone else. He's charming, sane, and always has Hawke's back. (Same with Aveline. I'm trying to get her to betray me but it's just not working!

I hope the don't make everyone bi. Bioware already tried the "all Bi" thing with Dragon age 2 and look how that turned out. It sucked!

I don't want Garrus to turn into an Anders 2.0..

I thought it was awesome.

But Garrus turning into Anders would make me strangle someone. Nothing to do with Anders' being bi. Everything to do wth Anders' turning into an idiotic possessed terrorist.

I didn't like the S/S romances in Dragon Age 2 because they were badly written. I created a Bi Hawke just for fun and he ended up romancing Anders. Big Mistake there!

Ander's romance dialog read like bad fan fiction.

Well, bad writing is a different issue, and I am 100% on board for Good Writing. I didn't mind the Anders romance though, and I played through it with a ManHawke and a LadyHawke. I think my favorite is the Isabela romance though, mainly because she's SO not into anything serious at first, and I think they did a good job with that character arc for her.

Isabella's was pretty good, I'll admit that. But I never liked Anders',especially when had that speech about rules when he's about to kiss you, that was terrible. I never touched Fenris with a ten foot pole though, so don't know what his is like.

I want action! Not monologues.

Some of there were. I recall Merrill's being out of left field.

But Anders, I felt, actually had a better romance path when he was romanced with a male (the Karl line)

The way you described Varric there makes him sound like a short and hairy version of Garrus.

Only less ragey-killy.

I like this.

So I've heard it has been confirmed, good for you. However,I saw something that other people wrote in confirmed features thread, and I'm going to quote it now because I agree 100%.

I agree noon, sure I don't mind some characters being Bi, perhaps Jack efc but as long as some remain singled out for m/f romances then it wont be an issue. I'm all for giving others the opportunity of having m/m romance but... don't pull a sudden "CAN IT WAIT FOR A BIT, I'M IN THE MIDDLE OF COMING OUT" moment with some established characters, that'd be slightly odd... for everyone in the galaxy to suddenly be bi. Yes yes, we all know we want equality but not everyone on Planet Earth is bisexual.

As long as they can do it with some subtlety and not just have the characters flat out say they have a aching man-crush on me, I guess I can let it slide.

Yes he totally is. He's the ultimate bro-character.

And Hawke can hit on him but he just laughs it off with a "Hawke, I know you can't resist but you're just too high maintance for me sorry."  And he'll lie Hawke's way out of several problems and takes care of alot of the crew (making sure people can't blackmail them, keeping them safe). He's just pure unadultrated win.

Come to think of it, he did remind me a lot of Garrus...they both had a cynical view on how the world works.

Just to expand on the post merchant2006 was referring to, I am very pleased S/S relationships are in ME3, however I was commenting on how I'd prefer it if only a few characters were BI, and most are heterosexual or homosexual. I also commented on how I want characters (if current characters are aailable for S/S romances) new interest in the same gender/sudden expression of interest to be handled believably.

Anyway, congrats everybody in this thread.

Edit: Yikes, like 5 new posts by the time I finished posting this:lol:

I think we should just trust the Mass Effect team to handle this well. There's no reason to be concerned that everyone will be bi. That's not the writers' style.

They also both use a good DPS, slow-firing weapon. Sniper and crossbow.

Now all we need is for Garrus to name his Sniper, lol.

Since when was short and hairy an insult?
