Eh.

DAO romances > DA2 > ME2 > ME1.

DAO has an edge because of character development, so does DA2. In ME2 and ME1 I didn't feel as much as a change in the characters.

...And woah. Dejavu much?

But yeah I want obvious romance choices to be obvious regardless of m/f or s/s factor.

I don't want to walk into Ashley's trap again. That was f*cking annoying. I shouldn't have to nuke someone to end a romance.

As long as they don't just come onto you for being nice to them (Like Anders apparently does) then it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Just make the romance path as obvious as possible (which they did in Mass Effect 2) and most people should be okay with it.

Here's hoping that the ME3 LI's don't pull a DA2.

I would hope they do...more options = good.

I'd love it if they did, but I don't have enough Shepards.

Well, even if you don't romance all of them, it's still nice to have a few options to pick from for your one Shepard, instead of being stuck with 'the bisexual LI' and if that person doesn't mesh with your Shepard you're outta luck.

Is anyone else still waiting to wake up?

But seriously, great job guys. It's been a grating, often frustrating few years, but we got our voice heard and now it's finally paying off.

The only question left is "Who will it be?".

Yes well as long as the whole goddamn galaxy doesn't turn bisexual I don't have an issue with it.

Yes yes I'm a homophobic moron who has no idea what he's on about blablabla male straight gamer denied. Yes yes we all need better romance options but if suddenly 9/10 romance options turn bi then I'll just ffffuuu. Yes we all know how much people wanted a m/m romance with some aliens but not everyone in the Mass Effect universe is going to be that way.

But hey, great success as Borat once said. I'm sure people wanting f/f/m/m romances will be happy. Heck one of my friends was annoyed how she couldn't romance Tali with her femshep. Who knows, maybe that'll change! *Claps hands*

I would love it to be Kaidan, simply because it fits my own canon perfectly, and because I can see really interesting ways in which it could be implemented alongside some excellent character development.

That said, as long as mShep now has the opportunity to identify as gay and have a relationship with a dude ... it's all good.

AND I'M SO TOTALLY FEELING THE LOVE RIGHT NOW

No more so than Garrus sleeping with a human female feels contrived.

No more so than Tali suddenly disregarding her IMMINENT DEATH feels contrived.

No more so than any other character falling for any Shepard while the galaxy is going to **** around them feels contrived.

I'd rather have the s/s LI's be human, personally.

I'm just not into mandibles and scales. Plus I'd like to avoid the whole, "It's not gay if it's an alien." thing.

I've seen some arguments for the aliens being S/S along the lines of 'they're already going xeno for Shepard, so what difference does gender make?'... To me this makes zero sense. Look at all the people who go for Garrus/Thane/Tali/Liara but wouldn't go for an alien the opposite of their gender preference. I'm attracted to Garrus at least in part because I'm a straight female and he has very masculine qualities.

I'm not saying whether or not they are or aren't, since we've never been told what their actual orientation is, I just have a problem with that specific argument because I don't think species completely negates gender preference.

Happy enough to see this happen there's obviously been quite a demand for it and it's great to see a company listen to their fanbase. Maybe I'll even give a s/s relationship a playthrough in on of my games.

Personally, my only real concern is that all the characters suddenly turn bi. For me that would seem a bit silly; but thats just my opinion.

Who would be okay for guy/guy other than Kaiden? I already know Miranda, Ashley, and Kaiden were previously intended to be bisexual, and Jack and Tali both seem to have some amount of bisexuality in their character (Jack mentions having purely sexual relationships with women in the past, but prefers men, and Tali exhibits many of the same shy, babbling issues with Fem Shep as she does with Masc Shep, which are very similar to the issues Liara had in the first game. [also there are certain clues in her dossier in LotSB]). That being said, as long as it doesn't ruin the character (Zaeed (barely showed grudging respect for Shepard), Mordin (virtually no hormonal drive), and Legion (ummm.... HE'S A ROBOT WITH A FLASHLIGHT HEAD), for example), I'm all in favor of that option... although, unless Tali is a potential LI for my Fem Shep, I'm completely devoted to Liara... If Tali is available... well... it's either a polygamous relationship (there was one in Jade Empire, and you could have one in Dragon Age II) or I'm going to have a very hard decision to make.

I can remember way back before the first Mass Effect came out. This argument was going on back then too... Super glad to finally have the same sex option. Not something I'll take myself because I'm a Jack fan with a Male Shepard but its nice to know others have the option and that my favorite game studio is supporting the choice.

Thanks Bioware, and thanks to everyone who's been fighting for this since the beginning.

So long as this applies to only characters introducted in Mass Effect 3 and all dialogue options that could lead toward a romance are clearly defined than I have no issue with this.

Yes well some characters it can work with but as for m/m garrusmance... that'd be slightly... well... out of the blue right? Don't kill me for saying this but I don't exactly think Garrus will be an option for m/m romance. Bromance, sure. Bro's. That'd work but I can't really see BioWare pulling Garrus suddenly being interested in males off.

Hah, who am I to talk, I'm just thinking of what happened with Anders in DA2 and well.. anything goes but I don't think it would make sense if Garrus suddenly had a dying crush on male shep. Hear me out I'm not being rude or inconsiderate! Just saiyan... I know how much some of you really want some characters to be available for m/m but I can see how it would be contrived, if not slightly confusing for SOME characters to end up this way.

I can imagine Jack, Kaiden and perhaps even Miri/Thane. We'll have to see.

And I really HOPE that just because I'm a nice guy to people that my squadmates don't suddenly get a crush on Shepard. Having Jack tell me to constantly f*** off just for me being a nice male guy was annoying and being nice to Anders and have him hit on Hawke was... yeah. Forced.

^ all that times 10, Garrus was a fan response romance in the first place so who the heck is it hurting to make him open to male sheps too? None of this "Oh it doesn't fit his character" business...anyone can be bi and it doesn't 'hurt' their character. Badass people like guys too!

It's not so much Shepard's attraction for non-humans, it's their attraction to Shepard.

A female human and turian (going from the comic book) look nothing alike.  If fact, doesn't Garrus state he doesn't find human women attractive, but is making an exception for FemShep?

I hate when people bring up Anders because he's not at all relatedable to Garrus.

First off Anders knew the WC not Hawke.

Second off Anders doesn't flirt with the WC seriously. If the WC flirts with him he laughs it off. Third off he rejects both the FWC and MWC with "I love you...but not that way."

Fourth of all a prequiste of being bisexual is liking females. Him having a relationship with a female =/= him never having relations with men.

He hits on Velanna because it annoys her and he finds her attractive (for some mindboggling reason) he also has that "not when I'm naked..." remark to Nate. (Probably for the same reason).

His "ew" to the sword joke was because it was RAPE. He knew about how other mages were  raped by templars. So YES that would fall into the "dude not funny." and "do not want" categories.

Well, who knows what "masculine" or "feminine" means to a turian. Garrus himself seems at a loss how to talk to Shepard when he gets to her quarters, since she doesn't really fit his idea of a female turian. Who is to say that a male human wouldn't seem MORE feminine by turian standards? We can't know what aliens find sexy, other than Mordin's line about how krogan keep hitting on him because his skin pigmentation is considered desirable among krogan. Turians might see the differences in human genders as not that significant, compared to the massive differences between turian genders. Can you tell a male chimpanzee from a female chimpanzee at a glance?
