I seem to recall Garrus saying something about a "head-fringe" when it comes to female Turians.

Out of interest would people be satisfied with the introduction of a new LI who is gay. Or if only one or two of the characters were available for s/s romance; say, for example Jack and Kaidan?

...don't forget my RenShep's Aria. :crying:

I'm rather curious as to who's going to be the new bisexual options actually. And whether or not they'll be a squad member. I think it's been stated that there are going to be options outside of the squad.

I'd be happy with either scenario, as long as the s/s LIs are given the same thoughtful and thorough consideration as the o/s ones.

No more so than Garrus sleeping with a human female feels contrived.

No more so than Tali suddenly disregarding her IMMINENT DEATH feels contrived.

No more so than any other character falling for any Shepard while the galaxy is going to **** around them feels contrived.

These were all contrived. Tali and Garrus romances were total fanservice, well the sex part at least. The sexual relationship with either character felt so forced, a non-sexual relationship would've been great. My point was that suddenly changing an already established sexuality would be really difficult to pull off, and if done improperly could ruin the character.

So how should it be done specifically?

In my personal view of a perfect world, Manshep and Femshep would have the same LI options, because I happen to like equality. But we had a LOT of LIs in ME2 (and you can't take away someone's LI status, can you?), so doing that would imply making every squadmate bi, and I see how that can be a problem. Harem syndrome, less development time for each individual romance and other issues make this option not the best one in the real world.

I think an easy way to do it is making the VS bi and leaving the rest exactly as it was in ME2. Even easier, make Garrus bi. That way you only have to write s/s romance for one character instead of two, also you get two bi aliens, a man and a woman, so everyone gets at least an option. Someone could say for example 'but I want to romance Jack, not some alien'. There's a difference between wanting s/s romance to be made possible and wanting to romance one specific character. One is a request for fairness and equality in general, so gay Shepards-especially gay Mansheps-are acknowledged as perfectly fine leads; the other is a more common request not unlike wanting squad armor back or vehicles or antialiasing, and it's not directly related to the FftL thread.

It's not so much Shepard's attraction for non-humans, it's their attraction to Shepard.

A female human and turian (going from the comic book) look nothing alike.  If fact, doesn't Garrus state he doesn't find human women attractive, but is making an exception for FemShep?

He said he doesn't have a 'fetish' for humans, period. But that means nothing in regards to his orientation.

As for the comic book... Well, I'm one of those people holding out hope that that will be retconned. I think the fact that they were talking about designing females at all is a good sign they're not going with the terrible comic design.

But in any case, turian men aren't in direct corrolation with human males either, but that doesn't stop them from seeming masculine.

Again, I'm not saying he is or isn't bi, and if you need an argument for why he might be, you only have to go as far as 'one random, casual encounter with a female scout does not make him exclusively straight'. There was also some interesting dialogue going on in the Garrus thread a while back about turian culture and how it may relate to sexuality.

I'd prefer Kaidan since my Shep has been pining for him since the first game. But I'm open to other scenarios.

Here's hoping that the ME3 LI's don't pull a DA2.

I see nothing wrong with what they did in DA2, more so when they where all better then the nine romances in ME series and two of the four in DAO.

I just think its wierd if Thane, a deeply religious man who was married and has a child, suddenly decides he loves men; similar to how I found it strange that the womanizer Anders was head-over-heels in love with my male Hawke.

I'm not against same-sex relationships - I am against relationships that contridict the actions and statements of an established character.

I guess I'll have to wait until more information drops before I start complaining. =p

I'm really happy about this, I never understood why there were so many female/female choices and no male/male ones. It didn't make sense at all. I only hope they develop this in a credible way. I don't buy the "let's make everyone bi" thing. I would like characters who could be only romanced by a certain sex: a male only for males, a female only for females, some bis...

I mean, if we make everyone bi now, why couldn't all flirt with them in the other games? There wouldn't be a reason for that. If a female can flirt with Kaidan in ME1, with Garrus/Thane/Jacob in ME2, why couldn't a male do it? Because they were only interested in females. If my fShep wasn't able to flirt with Ash, Tali, Miri or Jack, it wasn't because they were shy. They were not interested in females. I think making them bis would be a mistake, though I understand that a lot of players would love to flirt with them.

I hope BW create new interesting characters that increase the wish of replay the game with a different Shepard :)

Anders flirts with a few females and says a somewhat flirty comment to Nathaniel. That doesn't make him strictly heterosexual.

Seriously he had sex with one...(rather ugh) looking female elf (and apparently Karl and Isabela..but really who *hasn't* slept with Isabela? ). And laughs off the FWC advances while rebuking both her and the MWC with a "I love you...but not in that way." comment.

That doesn't make him strictly heterosexual. Him liking male Hawke didn't contradict established characterization. (especially not when he's clingy for affection due to going through the wringer and not his usual cocky and arrogant self.)

He doesn't fall head over heels for the FWC despite her constantly being described as a headturner. Does that mean he's not attracted to women?  OF course not. The FWC just wasn't lover material to him. (Personally I thnk he saw the WC as a mentor figure too much to want to sleep with them).

There's also the nice fact that you're more likely to have luck trying to sleep with someone of the o/s than s/s if you're constantly on the run. More people are heterosexual than bisexual/gay. So no him hitting on male Hawke isn't contradicting characterization.

His religion probably has no views regarding homosexuality.
There are plenty of bisexual and closeted gay men with wives and children.

It doesn't say anything about his orientation in reference to turians.  It also makes no sense that he'd go for a human female, but he did it b/c of personality only....why couldn't the same happen with a ManShep?

Well, it's canon now.   I'm assuming you are one of those that prefer the turian women to look more 'feminine' and similar to human females?

Right...but turian women seem pretty masculine to me.
