He's not. He's not attracted to humans at all. Which is the reason why I think it's weird Garrus wasn't a bi LI in the first place, considering the entire point of his romance is that it's basically a purely emotional connection. It's not like male Shepard is going to be any more gross to him than female Shepard.Ryzaki wrote...
Garrus - ...I actually don't really see him as attracted to femShep. Frankly I found that to be weird.
If he can move past the fact Shepard is an entirely different species, he can move past his cock. Into his ass. oh yeah

I hope they have a similar feature to the icons in the DA2 dialogue wheel, since that seems like the best solution to prevent ninjamance for everyone. Would hate to see a backlash from the shooter crowd discourage Bioware from including S/S content in the future.
I'm looking foward to experiencing the F/F and M/M options. I wonder who will be the LIs?

I think those who are going to be "bi" are:
- Kaidan/Ashley
- Liara (Who already...is? She's female in my eyes. <.<)
- Tali
- Garrus

KAIDAN!!! KAIDAN!! Okay done with my man-squee moment. Yeah I want Kaidan. I think its too late to introduce a new romance character being the "finale" of the game.
I actually think that would be the best way to implement this.

I'm wondering this too as Casey didn't mention specifically who this would apply to...
NPCs? (Think along the lines of Kelly)
Squadmates? would it be new squadmates? old ones? a mix of both?
Possibilities are near endless!

I have a feeling they will do this..honestly, it will benefit more than just those who wish to avoid s/s content....like me, who will wish to avoid romancing characters who aren't named 'Liara'.

I'm putting solid cash on everyone, whether ME1 or ME2, female or male, if only for fairness across the board. They've already stated that there will be NO new LIs for the final game. This can only lead to the idea that the ME1 and ME2 LIs making appearances, and that new players will probably be given the chance to specify whether or not they romanced anyone when recreating a new game.

I really only have one concern, and I'm sure it's one that many share.
I'm straight. My Shepard reflects myself and is therefore straight. I do hope this decision to allow same sex romances will not conflict with my desire to have strong friendships with male characters. For example, Garrus. I love talking and learning more about him-but I don't want to sleep with him.
If Bioware can implement this gameplay and characterization decision in a form that doesn't mean I have to stop talking with Garrus at a certain point (or any male characters for that matter) to keep them from hitting on me.
Regardless, good news!

As long as the m/m LI is human and not Jacob, I'm happy.
Agreed.
I would prefer Joker
@Siona: Hudson debunked that. There willbe new LIs.

I think all of us want to have better platonic interaction with squadmates. I mean, DA didn't force you to sleep with everyone to have a good relationship with them, so I'm hoping the ME team will learn from that.

"So that's a rejection of the article that suggested no new romances? You seemed fairly sure in the interview. Change of mind?"

Make of that what you will.

Two FemShep playthroughs and I have not seen this happen.

Chances are that the new squadmates will be the bi love interests. Betting on Mr. Vega here. If Shepard can suddenly hook up with Ashley/Kaidan/whoever in the third game, it isn't too much of a stretch if they make a new character a new LI. Saving the galaxy on the brink of total annihilation is lonesome work.

A bi VS has the big advantage that you don't have to rethink any ME2 romance = less trouble. And the "dammit Shepard, I already lost you once" theme is too tempting not to use it.
And the same sex VS will probably not exist in the playthroughs of the people who are most against this happening. Everyone wins? Especially Shepard!
