Well, I do also support more f/f too! I'm just perfectly happy with my old one from ME1.

I think by this point, they would be new characters, as much as it would be awesome to see Kaidan or Thane the new m/m romance, they both can die, as was said previously, and have already been established as straight somewhat >_>

Not necessarily. There is still the option of a romance DLC. Not only same sex romance supporters are asking for it, so there is huge potential for BioWare to earn some money. BioWare even said, that a romance DLC sounds promising.

They also said, that the story between ME2 and 3 will be told via DLC. That sounds more like an Add On like Dragon Age Awakening to me. A DLC of that size will have enough room for a romance scene.

There is no reason not to use the old NPCs. A short reunion with his old squad mates comes to mind. Perfect chance for Shepard to confess his feelings for Kaidan, or her feelings to Ashley (for example). Either Ashley or Kaidan WILL appear in Mass Effect 3 and if you managed to pull your team through the last mission of ME 2, which is highly propable because you get an achievement for it and almost everyone wants said achievement, they WILL appear in Mass Effect 3 aswell.

@ Syledir, hmm, you make some very good points. I forgot about the romance dlc, and it is a way to make money for them.

Tbh, I would prefer to see returning npc's fill the role of s/s romance option before more new characters. Maybe even a chance to romance Miri or Jack wit FemShep. That would be awesome, imo.

Sick! Too much info man, however, I would like a love scene similar to the one in ME1 if thats what you were going for, it was far more climactic than the romance climaxes for ME2. Hopefully will see something like that, and although that raised some controversey, I say screw what they say its an M rated game, about equal to an R rated film, nudity isn't as scandalous as it was in the old days, smoking is the "big bad" now.  I'm no pervert but the ME2 romance climaxes were kind of Image IPB  Miranda's was the only one that came close to the climax in ME1 so lets turn up the heat shall we. Tali romance climax = huge disappointment, should have seen her face or at least some skin! Am I right fellas!Image IPB

As far as I know there isn't a single character who said that he/she is exclusively heterosexuall. As a matter of fact Shepard needed to initiate the romance plot. Since all the same sex romance options have been locked in Mass Effect 2, its not possible to woo Miranda, if your Shepard is female. If BioWare unlocks the same sex romance options, Shepard will be able to pursue who he/she wants. BUT Shepard will have to make the first step. If you don't want to pursue a same sex romance, don't do it.[/quote]

Jack told my femshep that she wasn't down with girls club. It broke my Shep heart.

I dunno, I have no problem with gay relationships what so ever. As long as when I've having a bro moment with Garrus or Kaidan they don't go "Shepard, I want to have sex with you" then I'm fine.

Maybe a toggle to turn gay/bi relationships on or off perhaps?

Woah! Just had a thought, if same sex romances are unlocked, when Shep is just trying to be a good friend/he or she uses paragon dialogue, will the now potential LI get the wrong idea.

I don't think it would work that way...they don't even do that with a FemShep.  You the player have to initiate the romance.

Exactly my point. It will be like ME1 when you try to be the nice guy to Ash or Liara, they want to instantly bone your brains out. They should just put a toggle in the options.

I used to scoff on the older threads, and just think people should deal with it.  Then I remember how FemShep sounds liek she wants to rape Jacob everytime they talk *shudders*

So, this is actually a very good idea, imo.

Initiating a romance or not, if I was having bro talk with Garrus, and he starts coming on to me, it will be akward and personally ruin the 'bro force'. But do not get me wrong, love is love, but I do not want Kaidan or any other male friend to come on to me just because I'm being nice.

That's a good point.  As it stands now, I (as a FemShep) can pick the Paragon option with Tali after the suit-linking offering, and no romance is triggered.  If it's opened up, that option would lead to romance.

I think if they do open up the ME2 romances for s/s, it would be through DLC so the player will know what they are doing when they download it (and that being nice to Tali there will get you the romance).  That's only if they do something like this, of course.

An interesting group. I am straight, but must admit, that I like my femsheps to like other female characters as they are generally more stable emotianally than the male characters. Although, that being said, Garrus was the only one I would let my femshep romance as he was a totally cool guy.

I have always thought that there should be an option to click yes if you want bisexual/gay/lesbian relationships in the game. Kind of like that mission in MW2 where you had to select yes for it to activate, same with that. IF you select yes, then dialogue options would unlock.

Good luck on getting this back into the game. It has been pretty inconsistent of Bioware to do this.

People have suggested color coding all romance options (even the hetero ones) so you do not accidently romance someone you do not want to.

With the unwanted hetero options, I'm just careful not to pick the top options (middle and bottom) and if I feel I picked the wrong one, I reload the game.

It was the greatest disappointment for me that Tali was not romancable by a Female Shepard in ME2.

During the first game I kept thinking "Liara's great and all, but I really wish I could start a romance with Tali." When I first discovered a romance was possible in the second game I was elated - but when it started to look like Tali wouldn't be falling for my FemShep I fealt trepidatious ... was it possible they would bring me so close to my ardent hope and then deny me at that step? Rushing to the forums I discovered this was, in fact, the case and it killed part of the game for me.

Sure, I *could* start another game with a Male Shepard and pursue the relationship that way - but it wouldn't be *my* Shep; MY Shep was a proud, devious, unforgiving, rogue of a woman who also happened to be a lesbian, and to change that ... well, it would have taken the story away from me and I would never have got it back.

So I had to watch my Shep grow close to the crush of her life and never be able to breach the barrier between them. Perhaps there is something in that, for purpose of rp, but it doesn't leave me happy and - if it has to be that way - I still wish the game had let me investigate that route more fully. (I would not mind playing the angsty "I'll never have the woman I love" Shep, but if I have to I'd like the story to recognize that)

She also said that she would smear the walls with Miranda if she ever laid hands on her again. I didn't see her complaigning when Miranda helped her up during the mission on the Collectors ship.

But I know what you mean. However, if same sex romance options would have been unlocked Jack would have asked why Shepard still shows interest and hasn't left yet, because everyone else would have. That's when you would have the option to say A: I want to get to know you, first. Sex later. B: I want sex. C: Just remembered, that I don't like you. Bye.
These were pretty much the options of male Shepard, if I remember correctly.

Thing is that a lot of people don't want to go through that hassle. And they shouldn't. A toggle would defunct gay/bi romance, it's not hard in all honesty.

Funny, during the last Same Sex Romance Discussion coloured dialogue was the prefered option, just like the Paragon or Renegade options. On the other hand the TOGGLE was mostly unwanted. I had the idea about a "Sexual preference box". During character creation you would have to decide which gender, skin colour, etc. Shepard has. Simply put "sexual preference" as an additonal option on the character creator. Options: Hetero; only NPCs of the opposite sex are romanceable. ******: only NPCs of the same sex are romanceable. Bi: Every NPC is romanceable. That way there wouldn't be any "accidents".
