No, I agree with everyone who says that the HH needs stronger armor. I just don't think these sections are that difficult. Did you try reducing the difficulty level? I would hope that helps, but I haven't played below Hardcore in the HH so I don't know...Rizon538 wrote...

You gotta suck pretty bad to think that Hammerhead sections are so difficult that only the most skilled will be able to complete them. May I suggest toning down to Casual?
You are correct sir, I do suck at Arcade style games such as Frogger. That is the reason I play RPGs. The HH portions are nothing but glorified Arcade games and to me detract from the RPG. and from reading other posts it appears that I am not the only 1 who is dissatisfied with the Hammerhead and its use in the 2 DLCs.
Even on Casual the Hammerhead still has the structural integrity of a wet paper bag.

Squadmates need to talk, some people would give interesting dialouge, legion, miranda, jacob, mordin, jack and tali. No one says anything = dissapointing.
they would have to pay the cast to come back for recordings. for some it would take plane ticket and lodgings and a recording studio to rent out. I dont ever expect any dialog from squadmates for DLCs other than maybe shepard as Mark Veer obviously has better connection with bioware and im guessing is more on hand than the other castemates. So dont expect voice over work for any new DLCs then you wont get disappointed!
Unless they phone it in. which is a terrible idea.

Nice elaborate Review TerrorK, thanks for taking the time
No problem. I feel I should give credit where credit is due. I may complain a lot in general about ME2, but this DLC was very well done for the most part, and I believe BioWare should get feedback that reflects this, just as much as I believe they should get feedback for the things I felt they've done poorly. I want them to know that I felt this is the right direction to go with sidequests on secondary planets, so that hopefully in ME3 we'll get more of this type of thing.

The point I desagree with you is that Overlord don't seems like a mission post-finishing the game, is more likely to be played in some point in the middle or beginning.
Kasumi is another one.
The DLC that don't apply to this is Zaeed, IMO.
It is more fitting to be played during the game, that's my very issue. At this point, five months past the game's release, I feel that the content should be far more open and be able to be logically played any time. Most of us here will have Shepards that have finished the game, and so we'll be playing this content post-Suicide mission. Therefore I believe story-driven content from now on should reflect this, and one way to do it is to make it completely independent of the main story and links to it. It's just kind of immersion breaking to be playing this with a Paragon Shepard after the credits have rolled, that's all I'm saying.

But for me the feeling I most came away with was a little disappointment that the story wasn't better intergraded into the main story. The dialog would work fine if this mission was played before the jump through the omega four relay, but not so much after.
I'm glad it wasn't. In fact, I was hoping it was even more disconnected from the main story than it was (i.e. being another Cerberus issue). To me the point of sidequests is that they are that: sidequests. The whole point is that they're supposed to give you other optional stuff that gives you a breather from the main quest. Most of the N7 missions were disappointing for the same reason. This story, of course, couldn't really work anywhere near as well without the Cerberus connection, and I wouldn't want them to change it because its a good'un, but I hope that DLC from now on is more independent. Like BDtS for the original game: a great piece of DLC that had nothing to do with anything and was completely self-contained, yet felt as if it could slot right in perfectly. There's more aspects of the ME universe to explore than Cerberus' research stuff, and I personally want a bit of a break from it.

I'd like to see some DLC with more atmospheric effects. They're so good and yet so sparsely used throughout ME2. Just imagine how much creepier the Overlord missions would've been if you were descending from orbit and carrying out your tasks in torrential rains and lightning ala Jack's loyalty mission...
I have to say, a mission that's in torrential rain in almost pitch black with only the odd flickering light and the flash of lightning to see your enemies would be awesome.

The art direction is fantastic, it's great to see that they're not just re-using assets for DLC. The lack of squadmate dialogue is conspicious but understandable, re-hiring the voice cast would be very difficult. They try to make up for it with them doing background actions in cutscenes but to me, this is currently an inherant problem with post-release material. BDtS, for all the praise it gets, had absolutely none either.
I also loved the background touches, imo they're the best bit of the game. Not only is the atmosphere pretty incredible, but it has many elements that are homages to stuff like System Shock, H.R. Giger and Portal.
The Hammerhead sections are contrived but fun. It's good there is some additional use for the vehicle outside of Firewalker's very restricted tutorial missions.
All in all, I think it was a great side-mission.

it.
You can't wholly break with Cerebus because while your character isn't interested in staying tied to TIM my character is onboard with TIM and his methods. They've got a problem with that because some characters would likely walk away from TIM and some wouldn't.
This didn't feel like it was temporally located during the game - whereas Kasumi really obviously was. There's no reason that I couldn't have done the suicide mission and then Overlord went nuts.
Still, I hope that future DLC's start to become more of ME2.5 and bridging the way between ME2 and the start of ME3 or at least point to missions that will affect ME3 - you have to stop plot X that threatens the unity of the council you need to stop the reapers.

The mood was great, the gameplay was perfect, the conflict was emotional and sound.
Free exploration is finally back, which is great! Although the Hammerhead still seems more boring to me than the Mako; just one weapon, no sniperzoom, no viable hud, no freedom to leave the vessel to engage enemies by foot.
In matters of loot, there is nothing to be gained, so this is a pure fun and story mission. I hope they manage to weave the stories together in some greater story arc.
Greatest moment: The giant sattelite bowl crashing down on Shepard, and her snide comment: "You´ve got to be kidding." This is action, this is epic, this is cool. Thumbs up!

Exactly. Which is why I'm saying that future DLC missions should try and avoid involving Cerberus and Cerberus related stuff and be more like BDtS: completely independent of the main game and self-sufficient. That way it suits any playthrough, because it doesn't deal with the issue at all.

This is true, it does actually feel for the most part that it could be independent. It's more the set-up and aftermath where TIM contacts you that doesn't make sense. It's bad enough that the sidequests I did afterwards still tied to him and his organisation without it making much sense, but this could be set up better as a general distress call than as an email from TIM, e.g. have Kelly say you have a new email and you get a vague message and then do it similar to ME1's sidequest style where you enter the system and Joker says something like "We're getting a communication Shepard. Pathing it through" and then you get the request for help. Given how things between my Shepard and TIM were last time we talked, it doesn't make much sense for him to be sending me cheery emails. Especially when as far as I'm concerned my main Shepard is done with him.
Still, I hope that future DLC's start to become more of ME2.5 and bridging the way between ME2 and the start of ME3 or at least point to missions that will affect ME3 - you have to stop plot X that threatens the unity of the council you need to stop the reapers.
This will eventually be the case apparently. Still, I'd like a few more story-driven DLC's independent of this first in a similar style to Overlord and BDtS. I'm also really hoping for a full-on Liara vs. The Shadow Broker expansion.

I never really took the ME2 Paragon ending to mean Shepard has cut ties with Cerberus completely...
This ...
I took the Paragon ending to basically mean that Shepard won't be TIM's flunky any more. Basically as long as TIM follows Shepards lead and is fighting the Reapers then there is no reason why cooperation is out of the question.

more acceptable as the levels aren't obviously a series of platforms to
jump on and the HH wasn't as much a focus.
I am still definitely not a fan of the HH but at least it didn't ruin Overlord for me.
The plot was good but could have been much expanded on as certian events didn't really go anywhere. What happens to Shep could have added a very interesting hour to the DLC. The combat of the same caliber as ME2

Great, emotional, and pretty original story, and all this gameplay for only a very small fee...
I also loved the exploration, though it could have been even larger areas. Really, the only thing I can complain about is the fact that all my squadmates has gone mute! Kind of a letdown, really, but oh well. Another thing I still miss from ME1 is being able to get out of the vehicle at will for exploring on foot, which these areas seemed hand-tailored for!

I was never a fan of the Hammerhead but it didn't feel as bad as the other Hammerhead missions. I think using it as a transport vehicle worked much better.
It was a good little story, it felt slow at the start but it was well worth the price.
