I have really enjoyed this DLC, but I have to ask. How many times has bioware watched Avatar?

The real question is how many times have James Cameron watched Pocahontas (its the exact same story as Avatar) or any other disney movie...

About the dlc: I have the same feelings as everyone else that; Overlord is the best dlc so far to Mass Effect and the only real problem is the lack of chatter from you party (this is however understandeble consider the cost and time it would take to have 12 people record new dialogue)....

Also it would be kinda nice if you where rewarded some weapon for completing the Overlord (Instead of receving them in mail from TIM)

I was thinking about this dlc, and I felt like if was playing again Mass Effect 1, you know, with the vehicle exploration , fighting with the geth again and such kind of thing.

What do you think?

Same here. Entire DLC has a certain ME1 vibe to it, which is really welcome.

Seeing Space Cows, I had a sudden nostalgia hit as well.

The story was good. Scenery was nice. The hammerhead remains unchanged, which is a big friggin letdown. Still just a cardboard box with a slingshot on it.

I'd swear that the guided missles actually seemed, you know, guided this time. I had a much easier time shooting with the HH than I did in Firewalker and I can assure you I didn't practice with that silly thing between the two bits of content.

All I have to say that it was a much better use of the Hammerhead (even though the thing is still too damn fragile).  Also, there was actually some decent battling against the Geth.  It did take me some time to complete as I had to reload from a save point just trying to get the achievement.  While it seemed like "just another DLC" to me, it was good to get back to playing the game for what it offered.  The only thing that really impressed me (and kinda freaked me out as well) was the final stretch of the mission.

I believe this to be a very good dlc. Locations are very beautiful and story is great, only thing thats missing are companion comments, and Shepard speech seems a bit to renegade style.

Loved it, especially the very final stretch of the mission. ive gotta say i love the hammerhead, even though its a bit fragile, there should be upgrades in the normandy computer for it, like better shields and armour or a beefier cannon. I know getting all the team back to voice each character would have been too expensive for DLC but i wish there had been atleast a cutseen with the illusive man at the end about your final choice or even just a new weapon or tech ability for finishing it, something that impacts on the main story of the game..

Wah wah wah. I'm a spoiled baby who can't handle some small and simple vehicles sections. I suck at video games. WAAAH

Fixed.

Ok Fanboi, whatever you say. I can handle the vehicle fine moron, it just sucks. You can keep sucking on BioWare's teet, but I won't. I don't have to justify my opinions to brainless retards like you. You're the middle link in a BioWare human centipede, eating whatever **** they shove down your throat without complaint. How's it feel to be a mindless drone?

Again, the main game was great, brilliant even; but all of the DLC so far has been subpar. Both from an integration standpoint and from an execution standpoint. Again, I refer you to what Bethesda did with Fallout 3 to see how to do proper DLC.

Try not to cry the next time someone disagrees with you, it makes you look like more of a child than you clearly already are.

Or I could just actually like the DLC... I know, it's a crazy concept, actually enjoying something.

Once again for DLC, the music doesn't sound like it has come from Jack Wall and the wall of sound guys, while it's still good, it lacks that ME signature sound.

I know it's probably too much to ask, but a guy can dream: Squadmate banter. Your squad are silent the WHOLE mission, as is Joker. I know it would mean bringing back 12 cast members, and is probably prohibitivley expensive. But hey, some chatter would have been nice.

This is (partly) why I will never approve of DLC and why DLC can never live up to its potential. You can feel all the time how limited the resources are, once the main development of the game is finished.

For once, I feel like Overlord was a DLC pack worth its money. New artwork, semi-new gameplay (the hub world you explore with the Hammerhead is nice), and well-designed levels... not to mention the surprisingly effective (if slightly nonsensical at the end) story. I would have like to see more character interaction, but I also realise that that sort of thing is more expensive to produce, so it's understandable.

I enojyed it, especially the end of it.

I consider myself a decent gamer but as I was running this on my main (Vanguard) I found myself having to switch to an easier setting while piloting the Hammerhead and changing back to Insanity while on foot. It is far too fragile, either make it more resilient or give an option for Upgrades via the Normandy research lab - would help a ton.

One significant negative for me - It certainly isn't as polished game-wise as the full game because I fell through the environment / got stuck in a wall after using Vanguard charge at least 3 times. Frustrating but overall i'm very happy with the content and will happily pay for more, the only things I haven't purchased so far is the Equalizer Pack and the Alternate Costume one. Anything gameplay/story-wise is an instant purchase so far without hesitation.

Anybody else having glitching achievements for the DLC? Both achievements were unlocked in game but won't unlock on dash or xbox.com, and i can't earn them a 2nd time.

EDIT

checked out tech forums, apparently i gotta delete my gamertag and recover it because i got the DLC before MS updated the live servers. hurrah

I don't know has a title update came yet for the new achievements? (mine unlocked fine)

Also, hope you put more free roam missions as DLC BioWare :)

I meant that Aite is very similiar to Pandora - romantic sceneries, strange animals flyinig on horizon

The VI during the missions reminded me of early 90's flick The Lawnmower Man in style. I forgot to mention while playing Overlord in 5.1 through my home theatre the VI sound was absolutely grating to the ears, even worse than the constant drone of Vuvuzela's all week from the World Cup. :)

You realise that the scenery on Pandora is also harkening back to lots of previous works? It's really more that both works draw upon the same original source material.

Funny, I didn't notice the drone of those damn horns this morning.  Probably because I couldn't hear them over the stream of profanity I was directing at that dumb sack of **** Malinese referee.

If the US doesn't make it to the next round because of that sack of crap, I'm going to have to take a trip to Africa just so I can kick his ass.

Pretty much this.

Next time they should record some universal lines that could be used later in DLCs. Some ten or twenty lines per character should do the trick ... I mean even simple lines like "what the hell is that?", "what just happened?", "you are kidding, right?" or "you made the right choice, commander" could be used in many situations and would make the squad members feel more alive.

Pros:

1) Well polished

2) Runs Smoothly and without issues

3) Nice story twist

Cons:

1) No party member reaction...not even from Legion to whom the matter should be rather touchy and very personal.

2) No real reward....tiny amounts of money and minerals and a Skin Wave research upgrade.

3) Once you played through once future playthroughs are likely to take less than an hour.

4) Little replay value.

5) What happened to the geth pistol we saw Kasumi wield in the latest screenshot?

Overall reaction: meh ok but a bit disappointed.

I liked it a lot. I think I enjoyed the Kasumi DLC a bit more because I liked the vibe I got when she was talking to me on the citadel. This is still good though and well worth the money.

Also, the HH is too frail.
