Still lacks squad interaction/comments/input.
I completed in about 1hr and 20 mins.
I'd put it at above average.(7.5/10)

- No save feature for HH
- It still bugs me the lack of freedom i sense on HH maps, squad cannot exit vehicle etc.
- Squad says nothing about what goes on.. i took Tali and she hasn´t made one comment.. sigh.
- Ramming a creature and the HH says guided missiles are no match for them lol, i rammed them not shoot missiles, this is minor but they could have picked another line for this no?
- If the HH is stopped and any creature gets close to it or touches it just falls slowly to the ground and dies, lol.
- And finally, no reward? i mean what do we get for doing this mission? no new armors, no new weapons just another upgrade, really weak in this part.
I give this a 7/10.

I agree with all your other complaints about the Hammerhead (and I'll add that it needs a health display, especially given how little damage it absorbs), but I don't get this. You're not saying the Mako "exploration" maps in ME1 had more freedom, are you? You can go all over the place on the planet's surface, and when the map ends somewhere, it's not because there's an invisible wall, there's a cliff or something that the HH believably can't get past. Plus the environment feels far, far less repetitive.
Basically. Overlord does what the UNC missions in ME1 tried to do. This probably isn't realistic, but imagine how awesome ME3 could be if all its side missions were like Overlord. *sigh*

^ No, he didn't say that.
I'm surprised to hear you can't exit the HH to investigate anomalies and such. Looked up a clip on youtube. I really like the look of the environments.

The environments are really much better, but look at how many we got.
But really the most disappointing aspect in this mission was the reward, i remember in Bring down the sky ME DLC that when we finished there was some rewards, like a new armor or omni tool, here we get zip.

So is this DLC actually an improvement over most of the ME2 missions or is it just another hour of PEW-PEW-PEW shooting and covering?
Dialogue wise it's abit lacking considering the length of it, a good portion of it you spend investigating/traveling/site seeing.
The HH scenerios are improved in that the enviroments are more creative.
The final end game is where it shines with the strange story and it's execution.
It's a step in the right direction, they just need to keep hammering some more dialogue/choices and team interaction if possible.

I was thinking about this dlc, and I felt like if was playing again Mass Effect 1, you know, with the vehicle exploration , fighting with the geth again and such kind of thing.
What do you think?
Same here. Entire DLC has a certain ME1 vibe to it, which is really welcome.
Seeing Space Cows, I had a sudden nostalgia hit as well.
Although the story and setting were different the plotting reminded me of BDtS. You get there and are quickly contacted by ''radio'' by someone in need of help. You travel from point to point to different bases and flip switches. Then you go to the final base for the boss fight. There you have to make a choice that determines the fate of those involved. In between you zoom around the planet in a vehicle.

The gameplay is what I am used to from ME2, the atmosphere however beats MANY missions that are already in the original game. It's BioWare story telling at its best, for about 2-3 hours, depending on your playstyle and difficulty.
I missed my squad commenting on situations in the game, however that lack of voice-acting was well-camouflaged by the situation itself, making it a non-issue. The setting itself is refreshing and by times breath taking without recycling other environments. The vehicle itself may not be to your taste, but the sequences where it is used are logical and immersive. Cutscenes are polished, conversation is like we're used to, though not very consequential until the end where the choices you are presented with may baffle you.
One big fat plus-point conversationwise: no clear paragon and renegade choices, and no 'points', which in turn makes it more immersive again by leaving out the incentives for choices other than direct game consequences, like a good RPG should.
Another pluspoint for immersion is the music. Though as I understand not made by Jack Wall and cohorts, it sets a perfect and spooky atmosphere fitting to the whole storyline and setting.
If the Overlord is *any* indication of what we can expect from upcoming DLC for ME2 and maybe even setting the tone of ME3, I can only say I'm looking forward to muchmuch more.

The HH part was great. The area was big and it looked great unlike the planets in ME1.
I also really loved what they did with the atmosphere. I'm quite sure i know which game gave them ideas for it.
The only negative side was that the dialogue was little lacking and your companions didn't really say anything.

This.
PS: PLEASE bring back Lance Henriksen as ADMIRAL HACKETT, and make him an interactive character!

Can't agree with you more.
I really have difficulty imagining why they can't add save feature for HH.
And for Overlord, which has larger maps than FW, this really hurts.

Yeah. I'd be happy if most of them were just the size of the main hub with one or two bases to enter even (so long as the bases were each unique and not generic). Then maybe a few smaller N7 style ones and the odd more dead and vast UNC ones too (again, so long as the bases on them were each unique and not generic) to add in a nice mix.

I was a little worried at first, thinking Meer wouldn't be making a vocal appearance, but I was amusingly reassured (I won't spoil it, there's a specific expression he uses before the end of the first level). I was somewhat bothered that additional VOs for Shepard's crew weren't recorded, but that's understandable so I got past it.
The level design was amazing, everything felt big and right (plus that part leading up to the end was ingenious), but in conclusion the strongest element by far proved to be the story.
The only thing that puzzled me was the presence of the Hammerhead from the very beginning. I have Project Firewalker, but I hadn't even started the first mission - in other words I hadn't gotten the Hammerhead before starting Overlord. Plus, no explanation had been given for this. It would have been better if the mission started with the Kodiak, and after the first level Shepard was to be loaned a Hammerhead, too late now, unfortunately.
Jumping past that, I found the Hammerhead sequences a lot more fun and enjoyable than in Project Firewalker. I've seen amny complaints regarding the Hammerhead, and the only one I agree with is the one regarding the lack of shields - I had to use "old-school" defensive-hiding techniques to get past some turrets, at least the homing missiles helped - as for the other ones, a message for the authors: please don't loose perspective, consider Mass Effect 2 as a whole.
I copied this from the official thread social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/129/index/2599256/1 for the sake of posterity.

Pleasantly surprised by the return of my favorite "shady" species.
Awesome terrain with hammerhead, and crazy culmination!
Only dissapointment was that the cows didn't steal my money
