The exploration was excellent and the story rocked. The very end of it was very emotional and I'll be able to ever pick the renegade path in that campaign.

Sorry if this question has been asked already, but I didn't want to go through 6 pages of comments, which even though there aren't spoilers, might reveal some things about the DLC that may reduce the fun-factor if they're not known until you hit them.
TIA,
Ed

It's been said to death, but great atmosphere. The sound design was really good, lots of great creaking and groaning to add to the creepiness. The world was quite nice. I spent quite a bit of time just zipping around in the hammerhead, checking the place out (try blasting the herbivore things, the Hammerhead VI will say a couple different things about it lol). And it's always great to get some new VO from Mark Meer. All in all, really nice piece of DLC, more than worth the price of admission.

All DLC should be like this. It had plenty of lenght to it, good combat plus a good story.
This is the first DLC were I actually have nothing but good things to say.(hammerhead aside)
Well worth the few euro!!

Even though I enjoyed the scope and the story, one personal gripe would have to be that the DLC just seems a little... cartoony. Just a little campy. The dialogue, the scenery, the Hammerhead (oi), the way that the story unfolds... it just seemed disconnected from the main game. However, all in all, it's worth the money.
Looking forward, I vote for an alien-oriented DLC next. The last few DLCs have all centered around Geth and humans... I'd love to visit a turian/salarian expeditionary colony. Something that doesn't have to do with secret-projects-gone-haywire, merc-controlled mining facilities, or rogue AIs. Bioware should produce some fresh content that helps create a sense of place, like Zaeed's mission. I hope their next DLC is secured in the universe's lore.
So, for me, Overlord comes in third overall after Kasumi and Zaeed. Still a good DLC, but kind of samey to a lot of the sidemissions in the main game.

In other words does anyone think this is part of the bridge DLC for ME2-ME3

@fizzler I doubt it, it might have something like BDtS did. But I think there will be an expansion pack that bridges the story between the two.

Impressions after two playthroughs.
On the positive side:
Hammerhead - Finally, that's the terrain the little guy should run on. No forced paths (except for some easy puzzles) means you don't jump because you have to, but because you can. And that makes all the difference for this vehicle. Nicely done.
Graphical desing: Excellent as always.
Combat elements: As usual. There were some interesting elements, fresh to ME2. Approved.
Music: New music theme (a bit too James Bond-ish, if you ask me) for the DLC, and a particularly breath-catching one in the ending.
Gegs and references: I won't shoot down the little cracks and jokes.
Being fresh: Self-explanatory. It was fresh, used a new approach, it wasn't the twelve-a-dozen mission.
And, most importantly:
Story and setting. The setting was great, (failed experiments, silent underground bases, ghost shipes and alike are always great in my books when it comes to sci-fi), the story wasn't too complicated, but worked pretty well, story building was really good.
and
The ending. The last 5 or so minutes were absolutely brilliant. Emotional where it has to be, exciting when that gains importance.
On the negative side
No squad banther (Ok, I know, it's not comfortable to catch 12 voice actors to do a session)
Not so many conversations. (But which ones were there, was written well) Could definitely use some more convos there.
Verdict:
Worth buying. Definitely worth buying. If this becomes the minimal standard for DLCs, I'll jump aboard and gladly buy the following ones too. And I'm not a fan of the DLC systems around us.

I did enjoy it but I wasn't exactly enthralled. The main reason of course being the very limited amount of dialogue, 1 bland character with a reused character model no less, almost no speech options, no squad VO's. Come on. It's an R-P-G. That's the only thing that really let's it down.
Note to BioWare: In future if you can't get any of the cast back in the studio besides Mark Meer for a dlc, please just create a unique scenario without them with a bunch of new interesting npcs so we don't have sit through such awkward muted cutscenes. Again It's an R-P-G.
Better yet write them in batches in advance so you can get all the the relevant voice actors in the studio in the beginning stages of post release content or just include outtakes from ME2 recording sessions that were cut from the game. Anything has got to be better than this!
It bears repeating for the last time: more balance between the combat and ROLE PLAYING aspects. Skimp on the environment if you have to.

Some more roleplaying (in a roleplaying game especially) never hurts.

Between Overlord and Jacob's loyalty mission (Overlord being a million times "worse"), I have to wonder what kind of godawful bad peyote Bioware is smoking.

I hate the Hammerhead - it controls like some kind of kid's toy, it feels really out of place in the Mass Effect universe and doesn't add to the experience as the original Mako did, between the controls and it's application.

I partly agree. The the combat sequences were up there with the best levels in ME2, but the story element was very week except for the last 5 mins and the hammerhead sequences felt out of place and cheapened the whole experience by feeling like a cheesy arcade racer in between a serious action title attempting to conquer adult themes of autism/exploitation, etc.
I hate the Hammerhead - it's like a kid's toy not a tank.

I agree that Jacob's loyalty mission attempted to be all dark and serious and it fell completely flat on it's face - that's exactly how I feel about Overlord. Sorry I didn't make that clearer but the analogy is implied because it fits so perfectly that I felt it goes without saying.

Yup. The whole mission reminded me a lot of Noveria in ME1 as well. I liked it a lot - I'm among those who disliked the shift in tone from ME1 to ME2 a bit. This is a great throwback in look&feel to the ME1 feeling: Large bases, planet exploration, creepy atmosphere (just like... Noveria or the semi-abandoned freighters). More of this please!hawat333 wrote...

The only thing bad about it was the lack of squad banter (especially with Tali on board... you'd expect some rather vocal comments on the whole thing) - but I chalk that up to obvious budget and time constraints.
Not sure whether it's better than Kasumi as a DLC, but definitely among the top missions in ME2.
