In the years of Fereldan's time of dismay many figures have stood up causing a large impact within their own way; yet despite such thoughts only one was truly given credit for the major impact of the Arch-Demon's death.
Aiden Cousland, a man whose life went from the top of the social chart to dropping as if a bullet hit a duck
Several years after his victory and promotion he took the similar steps of the love he was originally chasing..
He had like her vanished without a trace and no where to truly be heard of the word around Armaranthin and Denerim was that they had graced their eyes on a tall long black haired figure with a distinguishing face and Massive Armor to the point that many who seen him would state the armor was similar to the famed Blood Dragon armor with the Star Fang longsword attached to his side. They had stated this image was heading towards Orlais.
This is where the story of the youngest survivor of the Cousland's takes place....
Chapter 1: An unfaced friend, Search of the Heart
As the wind picked up around the area a man who bore an unique yet creepily looking armor had stepped within the lands or Orlais. The smell... It had the scent of pure leather just like his companion Zevran had spoken of before his betrayal of course though it was most likely bound to happen when you invite a well equipped assassin into your fold.
Continuing his tracks the man headed towards the best place to start gathering information of course none other than the Tavern within the current city that he was in it was sort of a outstandishly exotic name for him so he pretty much forgot the name of it but many called it by it's known fact: City of Glamor. It was easily to put the mind together just to figure what they found glamorus. As far the eye could capture all there were was outrageous outfits.
Dresses of mysterious colors, with the length to fit as if they were all having a makeshift wedding with odd designs like stars gracing their lower body or the look of different types of flowers sown into the fabric just to see if they could turn heads. This was starting to hurt this particular tourists eyes as following the rumors it was easily safe to say this was indeed Aiden Cousland, Gray Warden Commander or at least what some one come to establish.
Aiden no longer seemed to grace that title it was fun; but after that last attack on the Vigil's Keep it made him realize that he needed to worry about himself in a fighting situation for now at least until the next Blight if there ever is one again.
As he started to close in upon the tavern he could hear a commotion a voice; faintly familiar yet slurred. He knew of only one man who would get drunk and have his voice be slurred as if he was eating taffy and that would of been Oghren. Unlikely guess but he kept his mind opened to that while his arm rose up and his fingers extended placing it on the door of the Tavern pushing it forward and entering removing the helmet on his head which still had a red glare within the helmets eyesockets.
"And they say Fereldan smells like wet dog...? This place has the stench of Dark Spawn ******..." Aiden had commented under his breath before shifting his eyes to spot the would-be prince or at least the run away tantrum having Gray Warden but it become apparent that his eyes couldn't fool him it was none other than Alistair. Aiden could only state one thing at this point "Oh..What the...HELL!?" the last word lingering in the area as Alistair turned around abruptly his state more than drunk out of his mind as he stood up tripping over chairs and knocking mugs off the table.
Of course anytime these two are around nothing seems to go without a hitch... Unfortunately for Alistair the mugs he had knocked over were that of four extremely muscular and well toned bandits carrying large Axes. If that wasn't worst they were Qunari mercenaries. Surely not Aiden's best day. As he sighed he grasped onto Alistair's arms and pushed him into a chair to sit as he started to cough in a bit of a mocking manner before stating "Now now fellas, My friend here as you can see... Is more wasted than a dwarf at a pole party. But we will be glad to you know.. Move out your way~" As Aiden attempted to turn away one of the Qunari grabbed on to Aiden's shoulder.
"Oh no, your not escaping that easily runt! Me and my comrades were having a nice drink and savoring our goods before this drunkard destroyed our hard earned drink. I would suggest you buy me and my troupe or things might now... Look so great for you and your servant here." this was obviously the Qunari Mercenary band leader.
Aiden just simply sighed at the situation once more he should of known by know how Qunari after traveling with Sten for a few months. "Oh come on! He's drunk how the hell was he suppose to know where to go?! By the way get OFF the shoulder!" jerking his left shoulder forward leaving the Qunari's grip he turned around about-face as if he was in the army. "Now; this is where I make the demands. You sit down and puff your chest back in and re-buy your drinks and I'll make sure this pathetic excuse for a Warden stays out of your hair! Deal?" and once more he should of established how a Qunari would act especially ones with their entire pride on the line... It is like watching a wounded cougar protect it's young.
The brown armor clad giant quickly reached towards his back unfastening his strap that was around the shaft of the Axe that he had harbored. "Or how about we hack the pretty little neck off for you!" as his hands gripped tightly on his weapon he started to swing it in a vertical motion towards Aiden. And of course after years of fighting dark spawn and other inconviences his instinct as was to quickly grasp the hilt of his Star Fang sword while kneeling into the Qunari pulling the weapon up ward and deadlocking it for a brief time before flinging his free left hand into the abdomen of the Qunari forcing him back a few ways knocking into his comrades and flipping over flat on his face.
"Oh.. Er... That wasn't suppose to happen.. Well Alistair looks like its time to get outta here!!" Aiden stated before swiftly sheathing his weapon and grabbing a hold of his drunkard of a fellow Warden and quickly leaving the tavern as fast as possible leaving the Qunari to waste in their pride. Aiden would only shake his head as they made it to a inn all the way across town "What is with mercenaries ALWAYS attacking me?! Next thing you know I'll be attacked by mercenary Dark Spawn!.... Well actually that would be kind of creepy...." throwing the unconscious Alistair on to a vacant bed he walked over towards the door and leaned against it with his back to press weight on it to make sure no one came in as he crossed his arms over his chest "Now to wait for you to wake up... And I am sure that a hang-ever will be sending you a nice detailed letter soon... By the maker how in the world did you even make it without me." at this point he would slap his palm into his forehead at the situation.
"Well just be lucky I saved your wayward princely self and duties.." as the night devoured the day it seemed that the two wardens had survived the day despite the fact it wasn't against Dark spawn at this point it was rather embarassing for the old commander to admit but at least he will hopefully be able to mend the situation with Alistair though this did make his search for Morrigan delayed... He wanted to see the seed of his despite what she said and he figured he would see the child eventually. He just hoped it wasn't at the wrong situation but of course isn't it always for a Grey Warden?
