...The only thing that stops me from using the sniper all the time is the fact that I run out of ammo frequently. If thats the case, I'll swap to the Tempest SMG.
Anyone else like this badass class?

Geez. Must have been pretty long. And I'm assuming it was using the Infiltrator class...?Tlazolteotl wrote...
Well ... I did upload an entire playthrough to youtube ...
If it was, cool. Having the Widow on a 2nd playthrough is always useful

I've tried every class and even found vanguards, adepts, and engineers to be incredibly fun to play in their own ways. (I've got to retry Sentinel and use Assault Armor.) But back when I had completed a vanguard playthrough and was attempting to start an engineer playthrough, the Kasumi DLC came out and I pulled out my older infiltrator playthrough to give the DLC a quick run. And as soon as I hit the YMIR mech with a headshot, I realized that deep down inside, no matter how much fun I can have with the other classes, I will always be an Infiltrator.
I pulled out the Vanguard playthrough for the Overlord DLC. I probably would have preferred the Infiltrator on that mission as well, but it was rather fun trying to figure out Charge all over again.
And the only romance my Shepard needs is the Widow.

The weird thing is when I look at my Mass Effect 1 characters the vast majority of them are Vanguards. And playing an Infiltrator in ME1 recently underlined the fact that I did not enjoy that class in the first game at all.
But in ME2 the Infiltrator just fits me a lot better than any other class. I wish I could get Overload but Energy Drain seems to work just as well.
And there's no beating the Widow.

In ME2 I'm like a surgeon with my Widow. Yeah ammo is limited but thanks to the Kasumi DLC, cloaking and then "backstabbing" with the Locus to kill off stragglers is great. Its more fun than any of the other classes I've played and survivable on hardcore difficulties or higher.

How exactly is the Infiltrator overpowered compared to the other classes?
Because when you are using your sniper correctly you can bring down almost every enemy quickly.

Really, there are other classes that can do it just as quickly. And by the numbers, Soldiers apparently make for stronger snipers.snfonseka wrote...

Give any class Reave, then they're all overpowered.

Vanguard is fun. I think an Adept on Insanity is more of a challenge.snfonseka wrote...
If you need the "challenge" go for "Vanguard".

I thought I was discussing about the "basic class" powers, not abput the classes with "loyalty powers" (because those "loyalty powers" are chosen by the player: not class specific) and without considering second tier weapon selection (because any one can select "sniper" as the weapon inside that old reaper).
Besides when I played soldier class I hardly use sniper because of I love to use "assault rifles". Besides when using Infiltrator you can combined "Incinerate and Sniper zoom" for very easily damage organic enemies at long rang. And "AI hacking" is a blessing when fight with robots. All you need to do is to go for the "group AI hacking", then you can make those robots fight with each other.
There are other classes that are having these powers, but only the Infiltrator has the best collection of powers, which makes this is the easiest class to play (but not the class that has given most excitement/ thrill to me).

May be... But I am more of a "close range DPS" person

Once I gave my Infiltrator Energy Drain, then I was fairly happy with the collection of powers. Still lacked an ability to cut through barriers, but that's what squadmates are for.snfonseka wrote...

Best class if you prefer not getting hit at all.
Best class if you want a RP-justification for all those hacking and bypasses.
Best class if you like one-shots-kills. Use Warp Ammo for Collectors.
Best class if you like tactical approaches.
Best class if you want to make each shot count. Sniper ammo sometimes is rare.
Best class if you like to see those YMIR going up with a big BOOM.

also: quick question. does using disruptor ammo against non-shielded/non-synthetic targets generate less damage than if you had not used the ammo upgrade?
