I've created a conversation, and clicked Tools > Generate VO > Generate VO Local
This creates the Stephen Hawking Guest VJ edition. According to the wiki, I should be able to then create lip syncing, under the same tools menu, but I don't see the FaceFX menu.
I can launch the FaceFX app separately, but not from within the editor. Has anyone got this to work yet?
Running Windows 7 x64, ActivePython 2.5.4.4 (x86)
How to insert FaceFX lip syncing?

Select the line of conversation you want to generate FX for and hit tools > preview line. That works for me however sometimes i get the blue screen of death when generating the lip syncing this way....
In my digital animation class for maya atm but when I get back home I'm gonna try to generate the few missing lines of FX that gave me a bluescreen and came out wrong.

I noticed it was missing as well, same with editing the properties of a light in VFX editor, you can't edit it on the graph. The Wiki says there should be things that aren't there.

Yeah, I have this problem as well. The temporary VO generates fine but there's no option to Generate FaceFX in the menu like it says on the wiki.

We've heard reports about this from some end user toolset users. It's a weird bug that may take a bit of work to figure out, I hope not too long but for the moment I have to admit that I'm at a loss. Sorry about this.

It's like a 20% chance using the preview line method that I get a blue screen of death. I only do it that way because I am also missing the generate option..but I think there may be a bigger problem there then just a missing option.. or am I the only one who actually gets a blue screen?

I can have the Digi-Voice rad aloud, but the cast members lips don't move.
And yeah, no option at all in the drop downs.
I'm actually backing up files atm to migrate back from 7 to Vista. I'd go all the way to XP, but I have gobs of ram, and i hate to see 64 bit CPUs going to waste (plus photoshop, etc)

Also:
To record your own voice-over, you'll need some method for recording your voice (Windows comes with a basic sound-recording program but other more sophisticated programs are available free for download as well) as a wav file. The wav file must be recorded in or converted to PCM 24 khz 16 bit mono format, otherwise the process will fail and an unhelpful error message will be displayed.
Real vo needs to be stored in ~installpath~\\Dragon Age\\addins\\[moduleuid]\\module\\override\\toolsetexport\\[lineid]_m.wav - you can dump wav files anywhere under the toolsetexport directory and they will be picked up but for organizational purposes you should probably organize it into subfolders grouped by conversation.
The wav file's filename must be of the form "[lineid]_m.wav" with [lineid] replaced by the ID number for the conversation line's string table entry. For example, if a conversation's line ID number is 344169, you'd save the voice over for this line as "344169_m.wav".
When you select "generate vo" from the toolset, the toolset will first check the above directory for properly named files. Any wav files that are not present will have robo vo created, and any that do exist will be used as-is.
...doesn't seem to be working

Ixo, the wiki page your following is wrong. I had the same problem. it's not inside the install path, you put the sound files inside my documents \\\\Dragon Age\\\\\\\\addins\\\\[moduleuid]\\\\\\\\module\\\\\\\\override\\\\\\\\toolsetexport\\\\[lineid]_m.wav
in sound design class now so i can't look at the whole directory but its basically my documents.. something not the install path.
