That is a beta shot of the original Halo and The Conduit is probably one of the most graphically impressive games on the Wii.

I think a better comparison would be the Conker's bad fur day remake versus Mario Galaxy. Mario Galaxy looks better, but not that much better.

I thought the new Goldeneye was a complete remake.

Not really...and I think those screen shots are from the Wii's version.

Man that is a horrible idea.  Goldeneye was good for it's time since it's control scheme worked well on consoles which wasn't common for console FPS at the time.  Those gameplay revolutions are not revolutionary anymore and Goldeneye has not aged gracefully.

A remake was okay to me but not a "just change the console!"

Also... anybody has thoughts on the 3DS?

Are you sure about that?

Console is only as good as its games. For me the Wii is fine even though its the in thing to hate on it, same for PS3.

The console I would put up there would be the Intellivision.

Out of personal preference? Well my least favorite system is the NES, it isn't at all durable and most of the games I have played for it I hated.

Yeah, the Wii doesn't look THAT much better than the Xbox in my opinion. My only real issue with the Wii though is that I think it could've been just a Gamecube peripheral and Nintendo could've released a real Next Generation console.

That being said though the Wii has a fantastic library of games and I play it more than my Xbox360 partially due to most 360 games being available cross platform on the PC.

No it doesn't look that good, but it still looks like it could have twice the power. You have to remember the Xbox only had a 733CPU and a 233 MHz GPU. It does take much to be twice as powerful as that.

I'm going with most people and would have to say the Wii. Most games on it suck, the controls straight up suck. But is winning in sells.

I love my xbox360 but I also have to put it as a candidate. The hardware on this thing sucks. And what I mean is that it needs to be taken of real carefully or else it dies. I've had som many problems with the xboxes I had

It's possible of course but I have not seen that power exploited. It's not a huge issue for me of course. Hell, I still play games on my Sega Nomad, PS1, and Sega Dreamcast. When I'm playing a game I like to think about how this game will be remembered 10 years from now. Since the graphics of any game will be dated in a decade, it's factors like gameplay, story, and immersion which I think make a game truly timeless.

If I live to one hundred(which I will of course since I'm exceptionally healthy) I'll be able to play games like Deus Ex, Mass Effect 2, and Twilight Princess and enjoy them.

Also, no doubt about the Xbox360's reliability problems.  Say what you will about the Wii but at least it's reliable.  I have had mine since launch day and have had no problems.

After the NES, Nintendo's systems are indeed quite reliable. My launch SNES still works (Even though it is now yellow), my Game Boy works (even though that screen cover fell off) and only recently my Virtual Boy has started to have problems (display error, makes it impossible to play).

If it wasn't for the infrastructure of the 360 I would have to put that down there as general principle, but I feel it does more right and it kind of cancels that out.

Holodeck? Well 3D has came out of nowhere again to take over every single damn system maybe we will finally get out of this generation and get crazy again.

I've not had a Wii so I can't comment, but the SNES and the original Playstation are the only consoles I've owned that actually had a large range of games I liked. By that I mean I actually had a library of games. As much as I love the Xbox, there doesn't seem to be any games I'd buy, other than the 5 or 6 I currently own.

You know, it's interesting.  Even though the true successor to the Super NES was the Nintendo 64, I always felt that the Playstation was more of the spiritual successor.  The Playstation and Super NES both had a lot of great RPGs plus many of the developers for the N64 left Nintendo for the Sony following Nintendo's idiotic decision to use cartridges.
In that respect I always felt like the Playstation was the unofficial follow up to the Super NES.  Hell, it almost was officially since Sony was tasked with developing the cancelled Super NES CD add on which is what led to the Playstation.

Sorce

Nintendo Wii’s ‘Broadway’ CPU operates at 729MHZ with a maximum bandwith of 1.9gbyte/sec.
Nintendo Wii’s ‘HollyWood’ GPU is clocked at 243MHZ, the internal memory of it includes 3mb of embedded graphics memory and 24megabytes of high speed main memory.
64megabytes of GDDR3 (MEM2) as the external main memory. Just like the internal memory, it can be accessed from the CPU and GPU with a maximum bandwidth of 4gbytes/sec and can also store programs in the MEM2.
The GPU of the Wii is identical to the GC’s but it is on average 1.5X faster.

Walks away with head down in shame for being wrong

Even with being identical yet faster it sucks worse because of the controls. It barely takes/detects your movement.

Motion Plus does a good job, besides many games I have played (that are good) do not rely on the motion controls but use them in a clever way, like No More Heroes and Super Mario Galaxy. In fact I know NMH was ported to the 360 but I feel like it would lose something without those controls.

I think the Wii games that work best are the ones that make subtle use of the motion controls. No More Heroes 1&2 is a good example of this. The motion control is limited but what is there works really well and adds to the gameplay satisfaction.
Games like Sonic and The Dark Knight on the other hand just make waggling the wii mote constantly a tedious experience.

Edit:doh! I ended up posting almost the exact same point as Onyx Jaguar.

Onechanbara is the worst I have played in the waggle regard. Take that as many ways as you like but playing that game is a painful experience. You pretty much have to play for only one level at a time or suffer an arm injury.

Mad World is also filled with Waggle but I didn't feel like it was a problem. Twilight Princess on the other hand? To me it just didn't feel that good and seemed obviously tacked on.

Then you have games without (or severely limited) motion controls like Klonoa and Wario Land.

I played the Wii once and injured myself. I figured that was a bad omen.
