I red on neoseeker that both games come in february 2011. [Can anyone confirm that?]
And I began to wonder - will this be a competition?

Both  target more or less the same audience, date may seem unfortunate as both titles have a huge fanbase, intersecting I'd say. So will there be a friction as DAO2 vs TW2? Or rather a joy of DAO2 and TW2 release, as the titles seem to be bastion of the genre.

Good ar a bad thing?
Would there be other titles at that time, pretendents to the throne?

So what do you think?

not bad for me I will just get both. I will just have to flip a coin on deciding which one to play first.

I'm pretty sure that anyone who buys TW2 will also pick up the DA:O expansion (because that's probably what it is), I know I will.

DAO2 isn't confirmed. All that's known is a Dragon Age-themed product (could be the anime) will release on/near that date.

Witcher 2 is confirmed.

So no, it's not a competition.

Oh crap. It never occurred to me that Feb 2011 could be just the release of the DA anime. Well that's a bit depressing.

In case it is Dragon Age 2 I'll probably be going with that. I just finished Witcher and I am really not eager to get back into that mess again.

Isn't it official that Bioware has nothing to present at E3? I would think that if Dragon Age 2 were coming that soon there would at least be some sort of announcement at E3.

As much as this pains me, yes, it seems very unlikely that the Feb '11 release is DA2. It's too soon (15 months after DA1's release) and there's nothing about it. All we've really had is something from 6 months ago with one BioWare person (could have been Ray) stating the DA engine is getting a bit of an overhaul for DA2. So, if that was January and it's now June, it could be they're just finishing the tweaks or are not very far into development.

Well on the brightside at least there is a good chance that 2011's E3 will be a Hell of a show for Bioware.

Depends on what EA want to show or not, really.

DA2 isn't coming out Q1 2011. The earliest would be Q4 2011

Anyway, The Witcher > DAO and I expect it to be same for The Witcher 2 and DA2

How about Obsidian? Any chance of them showing anything this year?

New Vegas? That's under Bethesda and stuff has already been shown. However, more to come tomorrow if Gamespot's E3 schedule is correct.

E3 is about publishers showing off, not developers.

Oh yeah I forgot about New Vegas. I'm hoping to see Dungeon Siege III too.

Only if Square Enix decide to show it. Not sure if they've done their reveals and so forth yet or not.

Come to think of it DAO2 in Q1 2011 indeed would be fast. But not achivable imo.

All that interest(s?) me are PC games, so any word on pc rpg titles?

Hunted and FO: New Vegas are both on the Bethesda "stall", Witcher 2 is... Hm. Must be an Atari stall somewhere, I can't see CDProjekt having one. Fable 3 is Microsoft Game Studios, I believe. Square Enix might have a stall, and they'll have FF XIV I think and maybe DS3 but I've not heard much about either.

Not a lot, though. Shame, really.

I second that.

Anyway, there is no confirmed release date for the Witcher 2, they are aiming for a Q1 2011 though.

If the Feb `11 leak wasn´t a prank, i would say a second expansion for DA seems more likely. And that is something i´m really not excited about after Awakening.

I officially want to marry and procreate with CDProjekt RED. SCABBARDS FINALLY APPEAR IN A GAME.

But the graphics are amazing, Triss looks absolutely mindblowing, and overall it looks very good. Bit worried as to how well it'll perform on my system, and that wasn't the best display of in-game combat I've ever seen demonstrated, but I'm sure it'll be much better once it's fully complete and in my hands.

I have great respect for CDproject after they released the Enhanced Edition and premium modules for FREE unlike BioWare/EA who charge us even for appearance packs or crappy items

Drakensang 2: River of Time should be this year, RageGT.
