Bump. Also E3 footage.

earlier version. Longer, but with annoying commentary.

If that's the final voice acting, then I'm going to stick it in Polish.

I have great respect for CDproject after they released the Enhanced Edition and premium modules for FREE unlike BioWare/EA who charge us even for appearance packs or crappy items

Heck yea, 3,5 gigs + a no DVD patch. They deserve every support we can give them.

Combat & animations in Witcher 2 look terribad in that video. Also, I dislike Geralt's & Triss' face... and what's this crap about timed dialogues?

Seriously, CD Projekt, what's happening? You'd think the game is being developed for consoles as well.

It's possible. During presentation in Warsaw they were using Xbox360 pad, suspicious huh?

New screens, naked Triss and her illusionary bewbz included!

Not really. It's much easier during a presentation to just have one pad on stage instead of a keyboard and mouse. Sure, you can do it, but a controller is easier.
Either way, I don't really care. Wiedzmin 2 looks absolutely mindblowing.

My feelings are mixed. The first Witcher is hardly a good example of tasteful design, but that has to be one of the most exaggerated chests I've seen in a fantasy a game. A genre known for that sort of thing. That's a nitpick though. I'm not thrilled with any of the faces I've seen. Geralt and Triss look weird. In Triss's case it's different but not necessarily horrid. Geralt looks uglier to me though and I really don't like how he's wearing his hair. :P

What does impress me are the details. Clothing looks great and there are lots of small details on everyone's face even if most of those might well be skin overlays ala Dragon Age. I have no comments on W2's gameplay; not having seen any of it yet.

In the world of the Witcher, the average woman has apparently a F-cup.

Guess CD Projekt thought they could do better than Drakensang, where women usually sport a modest D.

For some reason, I never got past the Lady of the Lake part in the Witcher. And I've tried like three times. Whenever I saw that lake BOOM, boredom prevailed. I think it lacked structure a bit and the dialogues didn't always make sense. Still, it had good potential and I liked the characters so it will be interesting to see how TW2 turns out.

That being said, a small comment on the early footage: either the graphics need some polishing or the first one actually looked better. *shrug*

I'm trying to wrap my mind around the concept of D being a modest size. XD It's a shame really. Gop's quoted bits in Kotaku's article make a point of how they strove to answer complaints of women being objectified in the first game. Apparently all they did was remove the cards. Not that I expecting a total change. I'm not even sure I'd want that across the board. Not everyone dresses like a nun. But that character is just... ergh... XD

To be fair, though, IIRC that character is the madame of a brothel who can help Geralt to settle a dispute in a peaceful matter.

The cards were cool, I don't understand why people would have a problem with them.
It's a fantasy game were you are a male hero in a morally gray world. In real life, many woman simply are ****s with no sense of standard who will go to bed no problem.

Why, they really did a great job making that act very interesting, it captures the atmosphere of a little village perfectly, the whole scene is lovely, in it's twisted Witcher way.

I haven't read the books that the games are based on but from what I have gathered, they must be a bit like Conan in concept in that subject. You know,  "A girl in every port" kind of thing and that girl just so happens to have an amazing body.

Still, I think that women being objectified is a bit strong. After all, the redhead (can't remember the name) as well as the princess didn't look like standing around, waiting to be told what to do. Now, if they ment that women were "loose" in the game, then yes. They were.

You're just trying to make me have a go again aren't you?

Damn you. I'll see if I still have my saves somewhere. If not then solid effort, mate, but it's a no-go :)

Geralt doesn't sleep around with every woman he comes across in the books. There's just one sorceress who's his true love.

But yeah, it should have just been Shani & Triss in Witcher 1. Sometimes it's just ridiculous and you get cards even if you want to avoid at all costs, like after doing a translation game with a half-elf & after giving bread to a starving woman...

I'm looking forward to the game because I'm interested in the three distinct main story paths that apparently each will lead to a different ending.

Your loss. It's all so tranquil, then you reveal everyone's dark secret. And when the sun sets it goes bat**** insane. Not to mention when the two factions appear and stage a standoff.

Play it! *nudge*

All they did in, I believe, the prudish USA was remove them. Europe (perhaps not even Germany) had an uncensored game.
I don't think women were objectified in that game at all. Prostitution wasn't uncommon, if you look at dress styles of the (shall we say equivalent) period, the breasts were shown a lot more than is perhaps seen today. Sure, I don't think all women were that voluptuous, but it's just the design route they went down. If you look at a lot of the NPCs, there are common models throughout the whole game so perhaps it was partially due to a budget/development restriction.
Wiedzmin 2, Wiedzmin 2. I want ittttttt.

Nope. No saves and really no time to go at it from the beginning now.

Oh well, perhaps when summer's over.

It was a big deal back when The Witcher released. I can't for the life of me remember any specifics now. My personal opinion is The Witcher came across as slightly juvenille despite an otherwise serious plot with tough morally gray choices being tossed around left and right. I own the game, so clearly it wasn't an issue for me and I know two women who enjoyed it too, but again, found the sex cards and constant opportunities for sex silly.

As far as looks go, well... I'm a casual fan of REH Conan stories and feel Frank Frazetta's work was often great. I'm not against fantastically sized proportions for men or women in fantasy. It's just that other than mages, the Witcher didn't strike me as that kind of larger-than-life fantasy setting of big, unstoppable heroes and flawless, curvaceous women. It's a video game though, so... what can you do? :P
