DAO II and The Witcher 2

I wanted to know if any of you could tell me what kind of engine DA2 works on? What are its strong features?
I'm asking because of the dev diary #2 for the witcher which is about tech and TSOOD engine. I was wondering if they will outsource it in the feature and if so, would other companies go for it.
BW made an engine for DA from scratch too, right? Would it have merit to go with TSOOD for DA3? (if the engine proves to be as amazing as it sounds of course)
Your thoughts?

One of the TW2 devs said they need to get TSOOD out there and see how it performs first before they think about outsourcing it. If it ends up being ideal for non-linear story lines, and as revolutionary as they are making it out to be, Bioware would be foolish to pass it up. Both companies make the same type of games.

The Witcher 2 by far. DA2 isn't even in the same league.
Care to explain why? And if you say graphics then RPGs are not your thing.

However, if i would need to choose i would definitely buy The Witcher 2 over DA2 anytime. All CD Project has shown so far, gave me the impression, that they are improving everything from part 1 while staying true to their art design, characters and lore, which is great i really loved that game. (combat was not so much fun for me but still...)
I just can´t say the same about DA2, but i guess i will buy it anyway to play it myself before i doom it.

Also more interested in the story from TW2, although I´m really afraid with how they´ll solve Geralt´s amnesia and whatever happened with Yennefer and Ciri. With DA2, I simply don´t care about Hawke and the teaser atempts to make him look badass, but on the other side there´s Flemeth´s plan.

I´ll probably get both too, but I´ll probably wait for GotY for DA2 because of DLC and no actual Collector Edition.

The amnesia bit was a poor choice in an otherwise great story. I hope they can do away with it entirely or try not to focus on it in TW2

I am actually more interested in who's that fugly main baddie with a scar on his head. He said he met Geralt before? Can't remember anything like this in the books. I am really curious what will CD Project pull off.

I am much more excited for the return of Geralt of Rivia, but I will pick up both of course (unless the feedback for DA2 is terrible). I trust Bioware won't disappoint on the story and the characters, even though I strongly dislike the visuals and new art style we've seen so far.
Some people say The Witcher is only about boobs and violence, and they're so damn wrong. The story of the first game, while not as epic as DAO, was fascinating and the gameplay was great (including the deep potion making feature). The atmosphere of the game was unique, and as for the sequel, the gratuitous nudity and sex encounters have been removed. They will now be tied to the plot, have a point, and be justified by the story (such as Geralt's affair with Triss Merigold).

These are some of the reasons why I'm more excited about TW2:
- Non-linear level design. Non-linear storytelling(strong focus on c&c), these features adds replayability aka more value for your money.
- Better animations based on what we've been shown so far. The combat system also looks better.
- TW1's story(telling) was also more enjoyable than DA:O's, imo TW1 was the slightly better game overall.
- I'm worried that DA:2 is being rushed out.

- Agreed.
- Agreed. Whatever they say, having barely over a year between two games (especially deep, complex games like RPGs - we're not talking sport games or FPS here!) is not a good sign. Will it be as rich as DAO? We'll see, but for now, I have a lot of doubts (and then again, the in-game visuals just aren't attractive one bit to me).
Come on, prove me wrong, Bioware.
As for the big guy from the trailer, well he is with the mean elf the main antagonist of TW2.
