Hello folks,

It's very simple, you have 10 character slots to fill with quite many more characters to choose from. Original ideas are welcomed (for those whom are willing to have a robot with EDI's conscience uploaded to it fighting next to them, or those who want a dissident Collector by their side). If you want to, you can also list squadmates who you don't want to return at all costs.

My wishlist:
1. Samara (Even though I highly doubt she'll be back as a squadmate given the fact she said she would return to a few places to bring justice, Omega being one of them. I figure she'll be reduced to a side mission. Even Shepard needs someone with wisdom to talk to when things get rough. Besides, I spent most of the time with Samara and Grunt at my side during missions.)

2. Mordin (I hope he is not replaced by his scientific prodigy nephew. I would strongly dislike getting an e-mail from Mordin which says: Shepard, Krogan Genophage cure you handed to me completed, its use at your disposal. Will be here if you need me for advice.)

3. Grunt (Almost a guarantee, his story is far from over. I think he'll spend some time with the Urdnot clan between ME2 and ME3 to learn Krogan values and **** some Krogan ladies senseless and breed an army for you. I initially found him very bland, but out of all characters in ME2, he grew on me most from the initial meeting to the end)

4. Garrus Vakarian (The bravest of the brave, second to Shepard of course. Second in Shepard in a lot of aspects in fact, which makes him a well-rounded loyal soldier. Similar to Samara, I'm afraid his story is finished and that he'll be reduced to a side mission.)

5. Tali vas Normandy (Much like Grunt, almost guaranteed to return given the events on Haestrom and further unfinishe business. I though of her as very boring in ME1, but she is next to Grunt and Mordin in terms of character growth for me.)

6. Legion (Has way too much untapped potential and there's plenty left in Legion if you ask me).

7. Miranda Lawson (Over the course of the 2 games I mostly made paragon choices, excluding the Council which is human-led now and I gave the Collector Base to Cerberus. A direct liaison of flesh and bone to Cerberus is a must for me. She does need to pick up her game though, the genetically perfected, hardened though dissapointed woman act only lasts for so long. She became my LI for being genetically perfect.)

8. Wrex (C'mon, you know the enemy will have it coming for them when they see Shepard parading with both Wrex and Grunt. Besides, Grunt could use a Krogan mentor, even though Shepard can be his Krantt, depending on your choice.)

9. Liara T'Soni (My previous LI, it will be interesting to see how she'll cope with Miranda, besides, having a biotic information broker on-board is not exactly bad. Should she attack me, I'll have Wrex and Grunt to hide behind :P).

10. Thane (He brings some much needed philosophy to the team and there's so little we know of the Drell. I hope Mordin can cure Thane.)

Like I said, it's highly probable at least 3 or 4 of these characters won't make it in your potential squad, but I really prefer to move on with the majority of the crew on-board during the start of the game. I don't want more than 2 new squad members as it will hamper the story development. However, Bioware's recent statements are reason for concern in this department.

Characters I don't want to see in my squad anymore:
Zaeed Massani (A cliched war veteran, I thank him for his services so he will get a firm handshake from me but he's done if you ask me, I saved the innocent people during his loyalty mission, so now he can hunt Vido himself).

Jack (An unstable psychotic foulmouth who is a jeopardy on every mission and brings turmoil to any team she's in. I need my squad to be sound of mind and sound of body, she's neither and during the night she could sneak in and put a pillow on my face.)

Kasumi (Why bring her along if you have Thane already? Unless Thane is dead in ME3 I see no reason for Kasumi to return as Thane and Kasumi are very similar if you ask me. The new Ashley/Kaidan if you ask me).

Ashley Williams (I left Kaidan to die on Virmire. Having Ashley badmouth me on Horizon is proof that she cannot comprehend the bigger picture. Shepard saved the galaxy, twice as we speak and then this lady comes down and tells me that I turned my back on everything we stood for. In the words of Garrus: "Damn it Williams, you're so focused on Cerberus that you're ignoring the real threat." Had the likes of Ashley, the Alliance, Embarrassor Udina most of all and the Council their way the Galaxy would be paste and the Reapers would throw a party and waste themselves.)

Aethyta - because she kicks ass :)

Jack - not nearly as psychotic as she's hyped up be, I'd even go as far as saying she's a pretty nice person considering all the crap she's been put through.

Kasumi - not sure why she'd stay to be honest, but she's a nice character and it would be cool to have her around

Legion - because of it's awesome

Mordin - if only for his dialogue :) plus someone's got to run that lab

Liara, Garrus, Tali, etc all go without saying, but I suspect they might end up being too involved in storyline stuff to actually end up in your squad. Would be awesome is they do though.

Can't really say I'd *hate* any of the squadmates to reappear in ME3 tbh.

Well, I want all of the love interests to return. If you mean a scenario in which there's like 16 squad mates to choose from, but you only have 10 slots, this is my personal list:

1. Kaidan

2. Liara

3. Garrus

4. Tali

5. Mordin

6. Jacob

7. Miranda

8. Legion

9. Grunt

10. Jack

There aren't any squad mates that I don't want returning...Maybe Morinth at most.

If I could choose 10 out of a potential 16 (or 17 including Morinth) they'd be:

1) Zaeed Massani - My right-hand man for all of ME2; brother-in-arms to my MaleSheps; secret LI to my FemSheps

2) Mordin Solus - Brilliant and deadly

3) Garrus Vakarian - My protege who always says he "learned from the best"

4) Urdnot Wrex - Because he's awesome

5) Urdnot Grunt - Because you can never have enough krogans on your team

6) Legion - Why not have a geth on my side?

7) Kasumi Goto - Because her flashbang frag grenade is a delightful "gift for you"

8) Kaidan Alenko/Ashley Williams - Because he/she is an old friend and former LI. Character would depend on which save game is used.

9) Miranda Lawson - LI to several of my MaleSheps

10) Jack - I like her. Plus Miranda needs someone to get in her face every once in a while.

Here's my list, in descending order of importance:

(1) Miranda Lawson. For too many reasons to list here. She's Shepard's perfect companion and the person I want to lead and reform Cerberus after TIM's inevitable demise.

(2) Legion. The geth are interesting and different. So much to explore here.

(3) Liara T'Soni. It will be interesting to see what she has become, we only get a glimpse of her in ME2. Also, I'd like to know if there is still something of the irrepressively curious archaeologist in her.

(4) Tali'Zorah vas Normandy. Too much unfinished business in her story to be left behind.

(5) Mordin Solus. Apart from Miranda, closest to my main Shepard(s) in outlook.

(6) Kaidan Alenko / Ashley Williams. Kaidan: much more than a token Alliance liaison, there's a lot of potential for character development. Would get along well with Miranda, if they can overcome the mutual dislike of each others' employers (who might be the same after all). Ashley: I won't forgive her for Horizon easily, but I still like her. Also she's a damn good soldier, that should count for something.

(7) Jacob Taylor: Don't hit me. Bioware can do better by him. A level-minded soldier type, he's the normal one of the bunch. The squad needs one of his kind - only explore his background more give him better romance lines.

(8) Samara: if you've done her loyalty mission, she says she is now free, since her most important task is done. I'd like her to find something worth smiling in her life.

(9) Garrus Vakarian. Too much of an old comrade-in-arms to leave him out. Also, while I've never romanced him myself, what the romance reveals about him makes me like him a bit more.

(10) Grunt. Very much the token krogan as far as my personal preferences go, but it makes too much sense story-wise to leave him out. I am curious about how his story will continue, but would like him to act less like a child. And no "I. Am. Krogan." any more.

What I definitely do *not* want is more than one krogan. As for new characters: I want any new characters as stand-ins for dead old ones, so that I can choose to take only my old squadmates or not. Also a nice motivation to replay ME2 and plan the suicide mission accordingly.

What I would want:

1)Garrus - because he has been there since me1

2)Tali - same as Garrus

3)Kal'Reegar - he's a bad ass quarian

4)Kaidan/Ashley - I like Kaidan more but i guess if one is to return the other one has to return too

5)Shiala - She looks quite capable and she's a green asari

6)Miranda - she remains loyal to you even if you destroy the collector base. I don't see why she'd leave

7)Jacob - ya ok, I know, it's Jacob. I still like him. kinda the same reasons as Miranda

8)Wrex - Shepard

9)Grunt - Shepard

10)Liara - she is still a good biotic and like that, I have everyone from me1

I think this makes for a good all rounded team

Wow, 10?

1. Garrus - LI
2. Grunt - baby
3. Tali - sis
4. Kasumi - other sis
5. Samara - granny
6. Legion - housekeeping robot
7. Zaeed - crazy uncle
8. Jack - friend
9. Miranda - colleague
10. Thane - meditation mentor

Research master Mordin can stay in the lab and do what he does best, Grunt's godfather Wrex can stay on Tuchanka and do his thing.

Yes, I'm weird today.

That said, I want everybody back.

But I support all party members from both games coming back, with more unique dialogue for each of them, beyond their own missions.  Bioware can take as long as they like if they made that happen.

Yes, only 5. Because I like having them with me on missions and they're nice to talk to on the Normandy.

For example, Jacob is good option on the battlefield, with squad incendiary and pull field. But I only talk to him because I don't want to hear Kelly saying "Jacob wants to speak with you" every time I interact with the galaxy map.Or Tali, good LI, but only one mission as party member (Tali:Treason)

Reasons..

1. Kaidan: Level headed fellow that my Shepard would be glad to have back on the team. Hopefully there'll be some "friendship" path that was sorely lacked in ME1. He's also having to do with the Alliance, which I'm sure will be a big part of ME3.

2. Liara: Kind personality, has helped Shepard a lot and has to do with the Shadow Broker subplot. Also useful for her knowledge of the protheans.

3. Garrus: Has been on Shepard's team since ME1. One of my Shepard's comrades in arms. I want to see how his story develops according to how you mentored him in ME1 and ME2.

4. Tali: Has been on Shepard's team since ME1. She has to do with the Quarian/Geth subplot which I'm interested in seeing the development of. I like her personality, intelligence and story, and she's my personal Shepard's romance interest. Interested in seeing how her story develops.

5. Mordin - Interesting and funny. His medical expertise should be useful in ME3.

6. Jacob - A decent guy and a decent friend for M!Shepards.

7. Miranda - Interesting character whom should have a lot to do with the Cerberus subplot in ME3. Curious as to see how her story develops.

8. Legion - Seems integral to the Geth/Quarian subplot.

9. Grunt - Shepard's henchmen.

10. Jack - I want to see how her story plays out.

Closely followed is Thane.

Note that I like all of the characters...aside from Morinth.

9. Zaeed

10. Tali

Barring Tali and Garrus, all me1 characters have moved on. Wrex needs to lead the krogan; Liarra is obviously better as a source of information (like a shadow broker you know personally); Ashley is obviously a rising star for Anderson/Council/Alliance as an operative (spectre? maybe) and would be better as a friendly contact in that regime; Jacob... he left the alliance when he didn't get recognition, he's with cerb. now and if he left cerb for you, then he's thrice likely to leave you/shep, so kick him to the curb as too wishywashy; don't need jack as her biotics are only worth something in cut scenes and she's bat crazy enough to have been left alone on jacob's loyalty planet as a favor to the galaxy.

If there are new characters then swap them out with zaeed, tali, and joker slots (joker since he's a pilot anyway and only in the list to make it 10)

I really wouldn't mind having most of the team back. I mean at first the only ones i actually liked in ME2 was:

Garrus

Thane

Tali

Mordin

But eventually the rest have grew on me. And really the only other person in ME1 that i want back is Wrex.

1) Tali (She has a permanent spot on my squad(Unless I'm fighting Blood Pack), and she's my main LI.)

2) Garrus (Bro)

3) Grunt (I would say Wrex, but he has to keep those idiots back on Tunchanka in line.)

4) Samara (Unlikely, but she's pretty kick-ass.)

5) Jack (She's like my little sister.)

That's all I need for myself.

1. Garrus -- Shepard's bromance and wingman till the end, Garrus is a MUST for ME3.

2. Legion -- It's extremely unfortunate we only have Legion for the tail end of ME2, I really would like to learn more about Legion and the geth overall... especially how they're gonna help me crush the Reapers!

3. Miranda -- While a lot of people have different opinions about her, I find the Shepard vs Cerberus dynamic fascinating and love how Miranda is caught between the middle of it.

4. Tali -- Everyone loves Tali, and the obvious conflict between the migrant fleet and the geth will undoubtedly be a huge part of ME3.

5. Kasumi -- *why* is she only a downloadable character? A very fun loyalty mission with some real depth to it, Kasumi may be just a galactic thief at her core, but as with all Mass Effect party members... they end up being much more significant figures in the galactic timeline

6. Wrex -- Total badass, Grunt is a one-dimensional complainer. Wrex has a distinct passion for rebuilding the krogan clans (which will more than likely mean he WONT be a party member), but remember Mandalore being in your party from KOTOR2? Similar concepts.

7. Thane -- While most of us know he was created mainly for the purpose of being the female LI, he ended up being a pretty compelling character... the assassin/monk. While it's strongly hinted he won't be around for the next game (we'll more than likely see his son be fairly prominent), Thane was the quiet, reserved killer that balances out the chatty battle-freaks who compose a large portion of Shep's squad.

8. Kal'Reegar -- Catching only a brief glimpse of him in two missions, Kal'Reegar struck a cord with many players immediately. Essentially the stereotypical space marine, seemingly the quarian equivalent of Shepard (albeit not the same caliber of awesome), seeing a hard-line Quarian to contrast Tali's relatively open nature would definitely bring an interesting dynamic to both Shep's squad as well as the aforementioned Quarian/Geth conflict.

9. Mordin -- With a huge cult following, Mordin is almost a guarantee to show up in ME3, but as a party member remains a little sketchy. As an older Salarian Mordin will surely lose his edge in battle, but it'd be a hard decision for Bioware to rob players of one of their favorites from experiencing more scientist salarian ridiculousness.

10. Liara -- Mainly just because there's a huge demand for Liara to show up again in Shep's squad. While most will miss her charming innocence of the first game, her knowledge of the Shadow Broker and her knack for saving Shepard's ass will more than likely make another appearance in ME3.
