Heya All!!! I'm new to the forums so please be gentle >< And here is my two cents

1) Tali - well Duh!!!! Normandy is in her name now so of course she'll be on my squad!

2) Garrus- Of course!! he'll go to hell with my Shep if need be and He is a awesome character anywho I love having him around I take him everywhere (in ME2)

3)Thane- Bioware do your crazy Fan-girl a Fav. . . don't kill this guy! Like Garrus I take him everywhere with my Shep. Also my Shep romanced him and I want to see what will happend when Kaiden sees this (i'm sow evil ) What can I say? Kaiden shouldn't have left my Shep on Horizon like that.

4)Shiala- She looks cool and she's green and she hit on my Shep Come on why not!!!

5)Jack- even though she won't talk to me much (b/c I didn't er couldn't romance her b/c my Shep is Female) she has grown on me :3

6) Grunt-Since Wrex will be busy in Tukunka Grunt's my rebound but if I could get Wrex  . . . oh yeah!!

7)Legion-why is he so late in the game!!! I like this thing! and I want to know why Legion is wearing Shep's old armour and Legion's adorable! :3

8)Jacob-can somebody make him cooler? I like his persona and it's a shame Jacob didn'y really have any stand out abilities like the other characters

9)Samara or Liara- Dran it Liara shut it with the shadow broker and join the team if not? Samara please

10) And finally . . . Mordin . . . Funny, werid, and might need his nerdyness to beat the Reapers

Ash is barbebue on Virmire, Kaiden I dislike ever since Horizon, TIM most likely will want to kill my Shep B/c she blew up the collector base, Saren is cyborg dust, and Kasumi and Zaeed? Well I don't have any EXP with them because I don't have xbox live . . . yet^_^

My list is based off of what I think of the characters. Not skills or training. I like the characters for what they are and who they are before what they know. This list is entirely based off of what I like relationship/friendship wise.

Mordin becomes a ship NPC like Joker (new dialogue after missions). He's too old to be fighting.

Samara/Morinth have cameos on Omega. Liara fills in their role.

1. Ashley Williams.  She had my back in the first game, I trust her to have it in the third.  Also my LI.

2. Garrus Vakarian.  He is a bro.  Despite how much of a whiner I thought he was in ME1, he turned out to be an amazing dude, who I think would be best buds with my Shep.

3. Speaking of bros, Jacob Taylor.  Many people give him a bad rep, but once again, I think the bro-factor comes in strong here.  We definitely spilled those drinks, and there was without a doubt a day spent for male bonding.

4.  Legion.  Does he really need an explanation?  He's one of the collest, erm...robots(?) I've ever met, and that's saying a lot.

5.  Samara.  She has 600 years of experience fighting evil.  'Nuff  said.

6.  Wrex.  See "Samara".

7. Mordin.  I need someone to do upgrades, right?

8. Kasumi.  She's got the skills that kill.  If I want a good team, that doesn't mean a team that can survive a fist fight with an armature(although that is helpful), but one that is ruthlessly efficient.  The sarcasm is a bonus.

9. Thane.  See "Kasumi".

10. Last but not least, Grunt.  He's violent, irrational, and doesn't think things through.  God'amn perfect.

[V-rex]

1. Ashley, she was my Shepard's LI and having stayed faithful I expect her to get some kind of good solid role for the third. Mass Effect 2 put a tension in the relationship but also the grounds to rebuild it and I would like to see it get rebuilt.

2. Wrex, this dude is simply awesome. No question about it and I would love to see him return from to the fray fighting alongside Shepard

3. Garrus, likewise. By this point I shouldn't even need to elaborate about Garrus

4. Tali, not my pick for LI but still a great character and I'd like to see return.

5. Mordin, he's probably my favourite of the new Mass Effect crew and it's always good to have a Salarian on the team for variety.

6. Liara, I wasn't actually much of a fan of the old Liara as I found her to be kind of soft. But the new Liara is clearly very tough and ruthless and I'm curious to see what she'd be like on a crew.

7. Legion, I liked this geth right from the start. It was cool to have a geth on your team and it was a shame he got so little airtime by comparison to the rest, having been recruited much later.



These are all the main ones for me, I still like the rest of the cast in Mass Effect 2 but my combination of old and new, this is my ideal team.

I appreciate almost every companion's story.  If a character does not make it onto the first list, it's usually because the character has a story to tell without spending 24/7 with Shepard, such as Wrex in ME2.   Well-drawn new companions are more than welcome.  Assuming everyone survived the Wrex confrontation and the suicide mission, I see my squad as... 

• Garrus: my Shepard's best teammate; would require a "brother/camaraderie" dialogue branch exists for my femshep though (I shrieked and reloaded after the first "romance" dialogue)
• Grunt: never leave the incredibly powerful, violent toddler unattended
• Jacob: one of the few level-headed characters; no known outside allegiances to interfere
• Kasumi: personality won me over immediately, and hooray for invisibility
• Legion: too intriguing to leave, could influence other AIs - and I want a proper explanation for why they chose my armor, dangit!
• Miranda: not particularly trustworthy or fun, but her Cerberus knowledge and information skills make her useful; plus, I need access to her hair products
• Mordin: scientific and technology training too useful to ignore; besides, who else would serenade my Shepard?  If Mordin must leave, his nephew best have one fantastic singing voice.
• Samara: useful abilities and a clinical mind; maybe I can find her a camisole while I'm out picking up sniper rifle upgrades?
• Jack: like Grunt, she needs a strong leader/keeper, and someone needs to keep Miranda in line; I'm protecting the galaxies from her, not necessarily enjoying the company
• *Tali'Zorah: if she is not given a definite, useful role influencing the quarian fleet, I want her dedication and personality back

Other characters who did not make the squad...

• Ashley or Kaidan: well-placed with the Alliance military and/or government for own stories, uses, and missions against the Reapers
• Liara: personal mission against the Shadow Broker; could be very useful for intelligence - as long as she does not go completely off the deep end
• Morinth: dead; sorry, I'm not too interested in unpenitant sexual serial killers
• Thane: if not yet dead from Kepral's, he needs to go spend time with his son; besides, it's hard to be sneaky while coughing up a lung
• Wrex: strength and attitude needed to lead and keep the krogan united; when the Reapers show up, my Shepard and the whole universe will want their help
• Zaeed: does not listen to orders and cannot lead a group of men in
  battle; he was head of a mercenary group and cannot keep everyone alive
  against the Collectors?
• *Tali'Zorah: use her past deeds for the quarian fleet and missions with Shepard as influence to keep her people united and focused on the Reaper threat rather than their fracturing along "what's our Geth policy" political lines; if not, give her back please!

1) Tali'Zorah: LI and at this point too important to the overall story.

2) Garrus: Dude has had my back twice, why stop now?

3) Miranda: She's too important to the story

4) Mordin: Hopefully too much time won't pass between games for him to die or anything.

5) Kasumi: I just like her. Wouldn't mind if she were a love interest in ME3. That said I'm not sure if there's a reason for her to continue on.

6) Grunt: Wrex will be too busy leading the Krogans.

7) Legion:A geth with a hero worship complex and dances the robot? Hell yeah I want him back.

8) Samara: Would love to have her back. She was almost always in my squad the second half of the game.

9) Ashley/Kaidan: Would make sense that they would rejoin your squad even if not an LI.

10) Kal'Reeger: We'll need someone to replace Zaeed as the tough soldier and with Adam Baldwin as his voice who wouldn't want him on their team?



Folks who didn't cut it and why:

Thane I fear will either be dead or trying to live out his last days with his son.

Liara still chasing the Shadow Broker. I'm sure we'll get a quest or two out of it.

Jack's brain will hopefully degrade and we can kick the crazy off the ship.

Jacob seems like a cool dude but I just NEVER used him except for the first mission and his loyalty quest. I guess if he wants to stay on as chief gun cleaner that's fine.

Zaeed will hopefully be dead or leading a band of mercs at the end to help with the effort.

Hmm ... I think limiting it to 6 would make the choices harder but if 10 is the goal then ...

1. Kasumi - I have yet to play her DLC (downloading right now) but I'm really excited about her character.  The only thing that disapoints me is that she doesn't have any dialouge trees, but that just makes me want her even more in ME3.

2. Mordin - He was great, probably one of my favorite people to talk to, which is a bit odd considering I found him pretty annoying when I first recrutied him, a little later on he was one of my favorite crewmen.

3 . Tali' - She's just really cute. xD

4. - Miranda - I don't want her for her personality so much as I want her for her skill set.

5. - Leigon - I'd be kinda interested to see some more out of him, I'm still not entirely sure why he used that N7 to patch up that hole. Course I never really did ask too much about it.

6. - Thane - I think it'd make it more emotional if he was with the squad for a little while before he finally died due to his disease.

7. - Grunt - I would say "Wrex" but he's kinda dead so I'll accept the next best thing. =D (Sometime I really should playthrough ME1 and make sure he lives.)

8. - Zaeed - I don't know why I like him so much, but he's pretty awesome.

9. - Kasumi (Seriously, I REALLY want her to have a full role in ME3 )

10. - Honestly I'm fine with the above listed, I won't really freak if I don't see anybody else, I kinda liked Ashly in ME1, but I was disenchanted after the horizen incident.

they wont add any more squadmates in ME3. what would have been the point of ME2 then? id like everyone back that wasnt killed in me ME1 and ME2 p[laythroughs. no more. no less.

10 A young relative of Udina who shares his winning personality - Shepard needs someone who dares talk back at him/her.

Am I the only one who wants Thane to die from his astmah because I like him? His inevitable death soon is part of what makes him interesting.
