to get zev after in a HNF wedding scenario you must marry Alistair politically (IE not in a romance) and be romancing zevran and keep him for your lover. so the only romance you still get in that is Zevran, not both. Really you shouild look into the polygamy mod if you want both.

OH MY GOSH how can you NOT replay this there are SO many permutations..i've played about 20 times and I STILL Find things I missed before.

Ah, so only as a NHF in a strictly political marriage? Not my case then, my PC is a Surana. Anyway, queenship sucks, and purely political sucks even more lol :innocent: Hey, I already noticed just how varied the outcomes can be even based on a single measly dialogue option - marker of a truly great game for sure. But even so I just don't replay games. I tried that once, with KOTOR 1, got only about halfway through, though I loved that game.

Ha, I'd do that if it worked, but not likely :D

Well, unless you have your heart set on either being dumped or being the king's mistress OR not making Alistair king, I'd suggest going for Zevran at this point as you've actually pretty much completed Alistair's -- there's nothing new until the Landsmeet, and then after the Landsmeet, there's no new romance dialog (unless dumped). Zevran's romance doesn't switch over to love until after Eamon calls the Landsmeet, and that's when you get the best part of it.

Edit: There are some pretty bad bugs at the city gates regarding both Zevran and Alistair and having the incorrect dialogs in an unmodded game.

Yea what Ejo suggests is best. If you are going for maximum playing in playthrough I would romance Alistair, get to the Landsmeet, get dumped afterward and then trigger (or retrigger if its possible) zev's romance. That will give the maximum amount of emotional impact I think.

and you should check out Ejo's mod too...hers fixes a ton of bugs with both characters.

It works.  You don't have a choice BUT to do his personal quest.  But you can't sleep with him unless the romance is active, and you always will be forced to choose once you have two who adore you.

save enough gifts to make alistiar love you by the time your about to do the landsmeet?

Then do not take zevran in your party. And try to make it to post coronation.

By get dumped you mean make Alistair king and that's when he dumps you if you aren't a NHF and you don't try to convince him that you want to be his mistress? But by that time I would already be forced to choose since I'm already basically in romance with Zevran, just a few points short of Adore and I haven't even given any plot gifts to him yet. And if I'm forced to dump him before Landsmeet, then it probably won't be possible to retrigger it, unless there'd be a weird bug or something.

So far I believe I haven't had any bugs, so maybe it's best not to mod the game yet, I read that mods can mess it up pretty bad.

By the way, is there any sort of cameo from Zevran in Awakening? I know there's Alistair's cameo if you make him king.

Sadly, no.  There is a letter supposedly written from Zevran to the PC, but it was never included in-game.

You will hit bugs.  Dialog bugs!  As in, well, most obvious example...

At the gates, Zevran gives his lover his "friendly" dialog and his friend his "warm" dialog.  Love dialog, nope.
At the gates, if Alistair is still in love, the warden cannot tell him she still loves him but if he's in love, the warden can tell him both that she loves him and that she still loves him.

There are a lot more than this, mind you.  There are so many dialog bugs in this game it makes puppies cry.

Oh ok, could you give me a link to this mod then? Better safe than sorry I guess.

If you don't mind doing a whole lot of reading, check the first link in my signature. Since you're new to modding, though, it may be overwhelming. There are some links there to some mods I highly recommend even if you don't use mine.

Bare minimum, though, is Charsen's GateKiss. If you're romancing Zevran, Charsen's ZevRing and also Dialog Tweaks. If you use ZDF, let me know if you have any questions at all. It really is confusing for people who've never modded before (and I'm sorry for that -- I just don't know a better way to do it).

I fix quite a few of Zevran's dialog bugs as well as an optional update but I don't include it in ZDF because there are four versions of it.

Wow, I've got to say this, not in a single game I've played so far I actually felt like such a total pig. Or even close. When you break up with Alistair, he makes such a face and sounds so sad that I do feel like I just kicked a puppy and then kicked it some more for good measure. The facial expressions in this game are pretty amazing imo. Which brings me back to zero as I'm once again undecided whom to pick. Maybe I should just wait until he dumps me himself though I'm not sure if I don't get a confrontation from one of them until then.
