I am at present downloading the toolset, and I have a few questions before I install it.
Is the EclipseRay absolutly needed for the toolset to work?
Also do I have to install the python files as well ?
I know it says optional but I never take anything at face value as I have had some programs where it says that things are optional but end up being necessary.

EclipseRay is optional. (no need for it at all), neither do you need python. however you do want perl (32 bit) or the light mapper won't work. you can do without it if you don't intend to sculpe your own area's.

Oh there is no mention of this perl thingy. What does that do ?

perl is like python a external script language. used to run the public lightmapper scripts, (we don't have the light farm or the software bioware use internally), you should dive into the datoolsetwiki it will explain those details and much more.

I have tried to install the lightmapper Eclipse but the wiki seems to take certain things for granted such as your meant to know what your doing.
I have python installed but dont know how to install Eclipse.
Also I seemed to of made a modual but I cant delete it. *sighs* the NWN toolsets were never this difficult.

yeah right it was python not perl, that what you get for messing with all known scripting languages. you mess them up in your head.

cover all you need, like I said you don't need Eclipse unless you intend to build your own lightmapper. but you do need the noted python install for lightmapper to work. (the lightmapper is however installed with the toolset and doesn't need a seperate installation.
and No there is no easy way of deleting a module. but right now you can simply clean out the whole database. but when you got something you want to save in there aswell. it's not that easy.

Ah so if I understand this correctly I dont need the light mapper to build moduals or make custom quests etc?
As for the deletion bit I have just started to learn so its not that big a deal.

No all you need it for is if you make our own levels and want some light effects in them and not look like a game from the last decade.. So it's not needed for creating anything but without it you can't get a good quality for your levels. even with it you will not get as good as the OC in most cases.

I was hoping to make some of my own dungeons and city type adventures. I guess I am going to need to find a way to install it all. :/
