Now I am wondering who will our Companions be ?

Are we going to solo all the DLC ourselves or will new Characters ( maybe even characters we saw in DA ) appear ? Marjolaine will accompany us thats for sure but is that mean we gonna 2 man ( Woman in this case ) it ?

It would be fun to see Marjolaine charming guards in to your party just like the Hurlock Vanguard in DSC :P ( well he is kinda ''taming'' the Thralls but you know what I mean :D )

Provided a warden survives all battles, ambushs, invasions and whatever Thedas
has in store for them, her / his lifespan from the moment of joining is about 30
years., less than a 3rd of the Dragon age century..

Should  Dragon Age 2 be settled in the future after DA 1, it would make more sense
to me, if it has to be a warden storyline, to have a new warden acompany an aged
hero of times 2 centuries past into the deeproads for the final stand.

Let the DA 1 warden- and companions-obsession be handled with xp and dlc
- dlc like this upcoming one.

Heck -I'd really like to see more of Thedas past and future.

Undoubtedly, there will be NPC companions for this DLC similar to what you've already seen for player origins (ie Lesky for the Dwarf Commoner origin) where these companions do not level or develop the same as a full companion. However, they may appear in DA2 or future DLC's. Who knows - you might even get a chevalier companion who helps Leliana escape only to die in the attempt.

Remember, Leliana is already a level 7 Bard when you recruit her in Lothering. So, there is room for her to be developed in the DLC. It's too bad you can't carryover the DLC Leliana to Origins. It would have been nice to build up from scratch as a DW Bard.

Very cool. She's my favorite companion so it will be cool to see more of her backstory. I hope this content is longer than Darkspawn Chronicles.

I'm torn. I love Leliana and playing her story, one of the most intriguing back story of all the companions, is something I do want. Still, I want to know what happened to her and my Warden mage after Awakening. I know we are spotted in Denerim, but nothing more. *sigh* Oh well, I guess that's why God created fanfic.

Hmmm . . . I'm thinking this DLC may be a lead up to DA2 which involves a return to Orlais.  In my last play-through, Leliana's Post-Coronation speech said that she was going back to Orlais to settle some old scores and set things right.  If this is the case, it is likely that the characters introduced in this DLC will re-appear in DA2.  What sort of person is Queen Celene?  Is she a French-version of Anora - just as scheming and power-hungry or something else?  We already know that Morrigan has gone to Orlais; might she make an appearance too?  Image IPB

Can't point to a link now, but (w/ salt in hand) I've heard that DA:2 will be a clean slate.  Only Morrigan returns.

Looks like Leliana has a different hair style in her earlier bard days...

Should be cool to possibly see Orlais for the 1st time, maybe?

And yet she'll probably still have her really pointy chin :P.

I keep hoping that Bioware will release a DLC that will make me actually want to buy Awakenings, but instead they just keep making irrelevant stand-alones. I like Leliana in Origins, but have no desire to play AS her. Also, I'm in the crowd that would like to see DLC that adds to the game and furthers the story of the warden.

Seeing the new DLC that has nothing to do with developing the story chain of Origins and Awakenings makes me think that this story is over. If there is a DA 2, this seems to be a big hint that it'll be a totally new story line. Which, from my perspective, is a bit sad. I would have liked a better ending to the whole blight story.

I love Leliana, but I prefer the story of here to be a bit more shrouded in mystery rather than actually play it.

I'll wait for DA2, not even going to bother with BioWare's DLC or (after the horrible Awakening expansion) expansions these days. Just cash milking more than actual content. I'll buy a coffee instead, will likely last longer than the DLC.

Have to say I'm somewhat disappointed. I can't be the only one who was hoping for this DLC to be a sort of post Origins... Warden/Leliana hook up. :-(

I was thinking the same thing actually. If a DLC brings back Leliana/Alistair/Zevran etc into the Awakenings story, that would be a better approach in my opinion, and would make me more interested in actually purchasing/playing Awakenings. It would be rather easy to tie in the appearance of the characters through some plot device. If they are going to use the voice actors anyway for a different kind of DLC, it doesn't seem like a matter of voice acting / scripting budget.

Seeing the new DLC that has nothing to do with developing the story chain of Origins and Awakenings makes me think that this story is over. I am not sure if I would draw that conclusion just based on the content of the DLCs. Rather, I think it shows that the developers are aware of the importance of the characters to the community, which actually makes it more likely that they keep them in future games. But it is all speculation of course. Maybe I am just being optimistic, but I still believe that the original warden's story will be continued by way of expansion(s) and/or sequel(s).

Why do people think they will get to see an amazing Orlais or there will be many Companions on this DLC. The way we've been getting nickel & dimed you know all you'll see is generic copy paste buildings from what we've already seen before and maybe 1 or 2 very plain people who probably just get killed anyway.

I suspect it will be another cheap 20-30 minute affair, 1 quest straight forward quest, kill some random dudes and then climax (won't give spoiler). You get either a dagger/bow/bard ability you get to keep that some modder could have made then DLC done.

Warden's Keep - $7

Stone Prisoner - $15

Return to Ostagar - $5

Darkspawn Chronicles - $5 (also a big joke)

Leliana's Song - $7

Total - $39

Combined content not feeling like an expansion - Priceless

Thanks EAioware

What made Baldur's Gate 2's Expansion really cool was all the stuff was added to the first game. The only DLC's I want to see in the future are ones that link Awakenings to Origins moreso on their main story line.

I'd rather spend $39 on a DLC that makes Origins completely cross over into Awakenings, and Awakenings abilities...etc back to Origins over these cheap DLC's anyday.

I will buy this. And I'm glad they didn't tie this into awakening because I refuse to buy it until they fix the major issues(including quests/scripting) and/or there's a price drop, so I would be SOL if they made their DLCs require awakening.

I'd hazard to guess that Bioware has the stats on how many people bought Awakening vs Origins and they are making DLC that is marketable to the largest possible audience. I salute them for not trying to force people to buy their expensive and "issue"-laden expansion in order to buy more content for the DA universe.

/salute

Also, redheads+deadly+accent(though marjolaines is painful) = HAWT. Good choice of the first(hopefully) companion based DLC!

I bet those "complainers" would simply be indifferent, but hey some people like paying for cheap toasters 3 times a year, others like saving up and buying one good one that lasts 5 years.

I can see the picture but I can't hear crap so it's hard to tell what's going on or what they're trying to get across with that trailer. What I don't understand is why the hell hasn't BioWare made that trailer available to the public yet if they actually want people to buy it? It seems counterproductive to keep it off the DLC details page and off the regular channels like youtube and such.

What you're asking for is an expansion (like Awakening) or a sequel such as Dragon Age 2.  A continuation of the main plot line with your Warden character would not fit within the confines of a $10 DLC - admit it - since DLC's tend to be only a couple hours long.  Would it be worth it??

The other DLC's such as SP, WK and RtO are add-ons.  You don't need them to complete the campaign but they do have an effect on your Warden (ie new gear and extra levels).

There's not enough money to made from a DLC to have it include any major story-altering plotlines.  It would have to be an expansion or sequel costing upwards of $40 that would continue the main storyline.  We're hoping that is what's coming out in Feb 2011.  Image IPB
