My thoughts exactly. This is pretty damn epic, but some warden action would have been nice. Oh well, I get to play as one of my favorite characters from Origins, I'm not gonna complain. Oh and also..... SHOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!AwesomeEffect2 wrote...

Hype. The more you get people excited about something the more likely they'll buy it.
Unfortunately that trailer made it seem more of a hackey slashy piece of content then I expected to be, given the subtlety and nicety we've been fed about the bards. Here's hoping the puddles deeper then it looks. Definitely takes place in Ferelden.

Without being able to hear anything.....or even see a great deal of it due to the carppy youtube version it's hard to tell exactly what is going on in that trailer but unlike any of the other DAO DLCs this is actually advertised as cinematic and says it brings the characters to life on the main BioWare page.....this does suggest a higher number and quality of cutscenes.....I also got the impression that 50 to 75% of that trailer was actually cutscene content but again it's hard to tell what's what so I'll reserve judgement of the trailer until I see a good quality version of it.TheMadCat wrote...

I heard a bit of dialogue (Which is how I know it's in Ferelden) and saw lots of weapon slinging and blood, again not exactly what I was expecting from a DLC based on the bards given how the lore has portrayed them. The trailer was pretty crummy given the perspective it was shown and I'm hoping that was the major influence in my perception of it.
I don't know, given what was there and the fact all of BioWare's DLC has been short and shallow. The premise of this one is pretty good so hopefully a solid execution follows. But meh, their past DLC's for Dragon Age have turned me skeptical that this will be anything more significant then a short and bloody dungeon romp.

Intriguing but will this fix the Approval bug with Leliana?
No I highly doubt that....this is a stand alone thing that happens quite a while before the beginning of DAO....you'll most likely start it from the main menu like the Darkspawn Chronicles so I really don't think it will impact anything in the main game. For Leleiana's approval glitch you'll have to wait for a patch.

Maybe the DLC hasn't made it completely through the console certification process yet.
Definitely takes place in Ferelden.
Could be some folks from Ferelden in Orlais; didn't you play through the Human Noble Origin at any time?

Well see, I thought about that but then there was the whole map shifting over Ferelden thing there that went along with the voice. Mix that together with the unlikely hood event they'd develop a completely unique area design for a $7 DLC that already seems to have a decent amount of expensive voice overs. Now usually 1+1=2, though I'll admit math isn't exactly my strongest area.

Actually I'd prefer new rogue class powers over 'Marjelaine's flight lotion' or her broomstick

Lol no not really but she is sweet, I just love that Bioware have come up with something more appealing to me than the last one. This is more girl power type DLC and that makes me HAPPY!

Why another standalone DLC? There is no replayability whatsoever with standalone DLCs...
This kind of story couldn't be told if it wasn't standalone. I personally greatly enjoy all the possibilities that standalone content offers. Obsessing with the PC warden leads to unnecessary restrictions.
