Those two names reference characters in a favorite game of mine, Vagrant Story, so at first nothing made sense.

I'll second that! (If this were Nexus, I'd give kudos.)Gloatie wrote...

Well, I suppose they'll add new trophies/achievements for this DLC, which means new patch. Probably with some fixes in it too.nen wrote...
Milking more money out of DLCs instead of releasing a patch, this is definitely the last BioWare product I'm buying.

Coming in late 2010, the Rosencrantz and Guildenstern version of DA:O . A 20 hour epic DLC where you play the two gossips in Denerim and converse on the events and happenings within the game! Oh, the DRAMA!
... And in Spring of 2011, "Dragon Age: Waitng for Morrigan" A 125 hour magnum opus where the player waits at the edge of the Orlesian border hoping for Morrigan to return. Oh, the SUSPENSE! (optional infinite loop gameplay only available in Collector's edition).
I kid! I kid!
Best. Comment. Ever.

Another DLC? BW is obviously just spamming stuff out now. I wouldn't mind if they were quality, bug-free DLCs, but they are not. I love the original game (minus bugs) but this DLC-fest is turning me off the franchise. You just can't turn out content in a few weeks and make it high quality.
You know what I think...think about it for a sec. Bioware seems to be doing things ahead of time. Awakening took a year to make, they were already working on that expansion prior to the release of Dragon Age: Origins.
How many other products are in pre-release condition? Maybe they are spamming products because they were made ahead of time? Its entirely possible.
It would account for why...we have silence and then whoop another dlc is announced with at most a 2 to 3 week wait. It means they were made, finished and assigned a date to be talked about ...thats what I am thinking.
Maybe they have two year's worth of dlcs done ..finished, ready for market already?
I don't think I would assume they are ignoring the bug fixes/patches in favour of dlcs. I don't think thats the case at all.
I think they probably have alot of work cut out for themselves however, as this patch 1.04 needs to work across all current included platforms and all current Main campaigns and possibly the existing dlcs that tie in with Origins.
Time consuming...oh and of course the certification processes that need to be done each and every time.
We as consumers have only one view, and if that view isn't added onto by the developpers...the "people in the know", we can pretty much make our own assumptions, and most times people just assume the negative thing is happening or going to happen.
So again, silence is NOT a good thing, never has been. Communication is a better tool to use. Imho.

I'm certain they are favoring DLC's (which generate revenue) over bug-fixes (which do not generate revenue). They certainly haven't said enough to indicate otherwise, apart from the periodic musings of Mr. Woo who comes around and takes cheap shots at posters, along with coming up with excuses as to how hard the whole process is.
At least he's not the only poster though.

I'd rather see new content any day of the week.
^This^.. Simply put, they're "Damned if they do, damned if they don't."

And Fareale makes perfect sense to me. I believe many of the DLCs have been made ahead of time (not necessarily upon release date but they certainly haven't taken a month to produce). As Faraele says, each DLC needs certifying as well. They don't just release these to take our minds off the lack of a patch.
Besides, a Patch seems imminent. This being a stand-alone DLC may also mean there is a likelihood of less bugs too. They don't have to factor in elements from the original game as much.
I am looking forward to this DLC. I am of course waiting for further news first though. I am also a slow player, so I am in no rush to play it just yet. Indeed, I have had the day since the day of release and I have yet to complete it due to time constraints and having a life too.

-Yea it seems kind of half assed thinking. Fixing bugs should be a priority over releasing more content especially if the new content still has bugs or technical issues that need to be fixed.nen wrote...

For instance I did not find The Witcher an enjoyable game, because I thought the Witcher himself was something of an A-hole.
Leliana was a nice enough piece of air headed background scenery for a game, but the idea of playing her as a main character leaves me underwhelmed. Same goes for playing as a Darkspawn.
Id much rather see more expansions like Awakenings, in which I can play my own character for another 20 hours or so.
I didn't buy the Darkswpan update, nor do I see myself buying the Leliana expansion. But, I would buy another Awakenings type download at double the price.

Remember when Corinne Kempa said on her facebook page she did voice recordings for BioWare? That was in March, quite some months ago. This DLC is in production since quite some time, since it's a given that voice recordings will only be made after the writing and scripting is done.

The new DLC may come out and not have any bugs whatsoever. Don't prejudge a product.

I'd say it's very safe to pre-judge Bioware on this. Considering Stone Prisoner came with bugs (gemstones don't give full/proper approval from Shale, among other little sniggles), Soldier's Peak came with bugs (granted, bugs already present with the game), Awakenings came with MANY, MANY bugs ... and I believe Darkspawn Chronicles came with bugs as well (I wouldn't know as I'm not spending another dime on Bioware's "products" until I see some respectable fixes) ...
Given their track record on Dragon Age so far? Expect Leliana's Song to come with a host of bugs and probably introduce a new game-crashing bug.

I am not buying any more DLC content unless and until you manage to patch DA:O back to a playable state. I will not be milked this way.
