Having our character integrated into the DLC like this would be wonderful.

Only an expansion or sequel would do justice to carrying on the Warden/LI storyline. A DLC lasting only 2-3 hours would not be detailed enough to carry on a romance. Also, players who did not choose Leliana as a LI would not buy the DLC. As a prequel, everyone has some reason to buy it.
Personally, I think it's a lead-up to Dragon Age 2 to be released on Feb 2011. This DLC will introduce us to Orlais. At the end of it, we know that Leliana winds up in the Chantry in Lothering but there's a lot of loose ends to be tied up in Orlais - not to mention Leliana's desire to go back and settle some scores!! Morrigan is also rumoured to be in the court of Orlais as well. This definitely sounds like DA2.
I personally think Feb 2011 will be another expansion pack and not Dragon Age 2, as they said they had 2 years worth of DLC for Dragon Age Origins/Awakening, so i doubt they will release a sequel before they have wrapped up on the first game, plus Feb 2011 doesn't give BioWare much time before origins and a sequel, and they need to fix the first game before they release a 2nd. I'd be happy with expansion 2 if it brings some of the old characters back.
I've got a very bad feeling about this DLC
Compared with Warden's Keep I don't know if it is worth 7 $.
There is a trailer on the internet at youtube probably shown at E3 which indicates, that the plot takes place more or less in Ferelden (Denerim) than in Orlais ...we will see.

Yeah, I know what you mean. As much as I love Leliana, I too have a bad feeling. I have the feeling that most of the cinematics will be just that and not "Mass Effect" style dialogue and it will take place at the beginning of the dlc. I have a feeling we will see little or nothing involving Orlais and that the crux of the plot will not be the betrayal by Marjolaine, but of Leliana’s escape into Denerim which will consist of an hour or so of hack and slash.

I never bought Darkspawn copy paste rubbish, especially after that garbage RtO and Awakenings, I wont hold my breath for this DLC and will definately wait. I learnt my lesson after wasting my cash on RtO and Awakenings rubbish instead of waiting.

Well, I was actually expecting some DLC for the expansion, which would involve Leliana showing up in some sort of side quest. Making her role a little bigger and more significant then just a little mentioning in the epilogue.
yeah that would be way nicer suppose ultimately a self contained dlc is easier to finish and release then something they would have to intergrate into a pre-existing game. i just hope that after the DSC and this they start releasing expansions to the game itself how they have done with mass effect.
i would rather see my character reunited with liliana in some new quest then a prequel story when u use compainions as the character they just fell less real i much prefer having them to interact with rather than a character to play as
its a shame the DA DLC is not of the same standard of that released for mass effect

7$ just seems to expensive for something like this.
How can you make that call when you don't know jack about it? There's been no real information released, seems a bit premature to call it overpriced.

just hope it will be in the same league as the Overlord BW did for ME
and not like the Darkspawn crappy thing could not even bothered to finish it. Even deleted it from my HD again could use that 350 or so MB for something better.
maybe they will throw in a decent rogue armor, since there is very little that you can use on a rogue
that doesn't carry too much weight
it would be verry interesting to see orlais
and in the next DLC i want Griffons PLZZZZ Bioware

I know, I am somehow alone, that I only play RPG "ONCE" and after that I am just waiting, if it will be possible to export the outcome to a new part of the game or continue the story ...
so Awakening was okay and RTO somehow also, as I could use my already finished "reality" ...
So that DLC makes no sense for me and I will not buy it for sure !
Come on Bioware if you make a DLC make sure we could use them with our existing finished game.

3 weeks away?? Another stand-alone DLC for which we already know the outcome. Finally, we'll get to see Val Royeaux and get more details about the relationship between Leliana and Marjolaine. Is that worth $7 to you?
If it's done well. Yes. I read and enjoy lots of stuff where I already know what the outcome is going to be. Less than the cost to see a movie, and a couple hours of fun with a character I'm interested in? Yeah. I'll pay $7 for that.
(Now $5 for Darkspawn Chronicles? Not interested. Fine for all the folks who love hack and slash. More power to 'em. But I was interested. This, if done well, is worth the extra $2. At least to me.)

with this one can assume that there will be one for all if not most of the other characters
oghrens journey to find branca
zeverans life as a crow
alistar being trained as a templar
morrigan living life with her mother and killing templars that go into the wilds looking for them
shale fighting darkspawn with the other golems before being a statue then getting into the hands of that mage
sten and his adventures
wynn and training new mages
For Shale I'd also like to see more about how she ended up in the hands of that mage... maybe bits and pieces, told as recovered memories coming back to her, up through his death and her being turned into a statue...
That could be fun.

So, will this be our first real look at Orlais?
It sorta has to be, doesn't it?
Nah. She was in Ferelden and with the Chantry for a bit. This could very easily be a story of her coming to Ferelden and/or joining the Chantry. I doubt very much they'd do much more than use existing assets with a cost of $7.
But I could be wrong. Warden's Keep was all new area, and it was only $7. And Return to Ostagar, like Chronicles, used existing assets and it was $5. So... we could be pleasantly surprised. If we do see any of Orlais, it's just going to be a peak. (Maybe some early peaks at areas that are being built for DA2?)

Well..no interest then.
Great news that they are focusing more on our old characters, but I sort of feel the same as the above poster.
I guess the main disappointing element to me in this is that you actually play "as" Leliana (and your other companions, in the event that this idea is carried further). To me, the companions in Dragon Age were interesting since they gave the impression of being real people with their own hidden past, problems etc.
Thus, I think I would have prefered getting to accompany (as a player character) them on their mission rather than "being" them (and presumably picking their dialogue etc). I guess it just seems strange to me to sort of assume their personality in this way, since it is such a switch of perspective. If this approach is followed in later DLCs, "being" Alistair, Zevran etc would feel a bit strange to me personally and not quite what I was hoping for. But maybe it's just me. I guess it is a matter of taste.
As long as all the character interactions are scripted, I really don't see it being any different from controlling the various party members during a fight and waiting for cutscenes in the actual game. Those bits of the "hidden past" that are revealed here shouldn't be any less a part of them than the things that were revealed by them during camp interactions and conversations.
I mean, at $7, I don't think we're going to see the kind of deep, game altering decision options that we see in the full game.

I'm kind of curious if Sheryl Chee did Leliana's dialogue in this DLC or if another writer did?
Because one of my annoyances with Return to Ostagar was some of the bizarre dialogue, like Alistair and Wynne flirting- thats not right:sick:
I thought it fitted Alistair quite well, Wyne i'm not to sure about.
Maybe it's just my dialogue interactions. (I usually go with respectful, yet sometimes flippant with Wynne.) But I've found her to be a saucy old broad. Didn't bother me in the least (it was obviously playful and not serious flirting.)

Entirely patch dependent. No plans to get this until the real results are in.
Very VERY annoyed at yet another DLC announcement....
Haven't encountered any real lasting or game-breaking problems in the 360 version and I played through over more than 5 times.....closer to 10 I think. The 360 only has a ton of little annoyances that would be nice to have fixed but nothing to justify BioWare stopping the production of DLC.....they are working on a patch right now and they are updating the lit of things that will be fixed constantly so I'm not too stressed out over a patch right now......we'll get it when we get it but untill then DLC is indeed still very nice and the game runs just fine for the most part.
And here we go again with another person that just can't wait to exclaim that time-tried fallacy "I don't have any problems with it so they must not exist." Spectacular reasoning again!
Bugs list here, started approx. one month after game launch. None fixed to this day. But I suppose corrupted saves and the ogre not spawning on a certain bridge, permanently preventing you from continuing the game are not considered game breaking bugs. Oh wait that's right, you don't have them so they must not exist. Silly me....
All I made was a comment about what parameters I personally needed fulfilled in order to buy this item. Thanks for derailing it with your narrow-minded understanding of what IS and IS NOT.
You are an angry, angry person Wicked, lol. But for some reason you are
growing on me.

Kind of funny how the first 3 downloads (Stone Prisoner, Wardens Keep and Return to Ostagar) added to the game as you played it. With Darkspawn Chronicles and Leliana’s Song its just content that has no real affect on the main game at all and really has limited replay value.
*edited for space*
IDK man. I've already played through the main game a couple of times. I understand how nice it is to have stuff that expands the main story. But this DLC is like, a little dessert to follow up the big meal that was the main campaign. I can dig that. I'll just try to enjoy it for what it is. Even with the limited (or non-existent) replay value.
