It also opens the door to prequels for the other characters, which I'd really enjoy.
I'm still hoping for a good sized expansion with the Origins companions and the PC--with much more interaction than we got in RtO, but this is good, too.

If the patch is out in time for this and it actually fixes the game I will buy this. Not before! As much as I want to!
This DLC will be played as a stand-alone Other Campaign. If, for some reason, it does require the new patch, that would be a good thing, no? Because that would mean the patch will be released within the next 3 weeks right? Otherwise, this DLC will work fine with whatever existing patch you have (ie probably 1.03).
And therein lies the problem...the game does not work fine with 1.03. So for me Im on a no DLC till the game is fixed stance.
Not that the DA.O DLC has been anything worth spending on tbh. Me2 just released a new quality DLC alongside a patch to fix game issues, I wish the DA.O team would take notes on how a DLC should be done.

Another DLC? Wow! Why don't you stop dishing out DLCs and fix the game first?
Because the people who create DL content (writers, artists, designers...) aren't the most qualified to do bug fixing (that would be 'coders').
And probably because one brings money in and the other doesn't, also.
But still, it's been told a lot of times already, the making of new DLC does not delay the patch. Different people and different teams working on different things.

We already know one million times over that the teams are separate. Makes no difference.

Well, it should, with the application of even a little logic.

And for those of you who, like me, adore her accent, (and yes, I know that there are those who abhor it as well) you can learn more about Corinne Kempa, the person behind it at: http://www.corinnekempa.com.
And please consider supporting her independent film project on adoption by making a donation. As an incentive for doing so, she and Claudia Black, the voice of Morrigan, (and Admiral Daro'Xen vas Moreh, for you ME2 players!) have autographed two copies of DA:O to be randomly awarded to those who contribute to the project via the purchase of "raffle tickets".

For more information on the "Competition DAO" to contribute with a chance for a signed copy see:

Bonne Chance!

Edit: Now I'm starting to be the derailing jerk and although I have generally felt correct in the past doing so I'm overstepping my bounds here. Enough of that from me for now....
Hooray for French red-heads!

PLEASE flesh out the backstory properly and bring it up to the standard of the storytelling from the original game (i.e. much much better than the DLCs) and I will buy it.

So people should be happy that they don't know what all is being fixed to enable them to play the game (if they can't)as long as those that can still play it get something they want? (Yes Wicked, I'm agreeing with you again)

I will say though that I don't like the idea of DLC that doesn't integrate with the story itself. I get that it's going to be somewhat hard to do that given the complete package that is Origins but it's still nicer than standalone modules. Also, I've really got to say that the price/content of Bioware's DLC is not quite what I'd consider equitable. Personal opinion obviously.
