This DLC could be interesting from a "background information perspective".However, for people who are looking for additional romance content / companionship with old characters, this will probably not be a very exciting/satisfying DLC. I am sure that was not the intention either, but let's hope that issue is addressed somewhere along the line as well. Particularly when it comes to many guys here (but also women by all means), I am sure that roleplaying AS Leliana isn't what they are mainly interested in when it comes to that character. Similarly, if Alistair comes back as an DLC, I am sure I speak for many when I say that "being him" isn't the first thing on my list of things to do with him.
I suppose due to the immersion of the game (and the writers/actors are to be thanked) I really developed a strong bond with my old warden(s), even if they lack pre-specified names and elaborate backstories. I feel that I created my own backstory and identified with my warden and her perspective on things - including relationships. It is a bit jarring to me to be taken out of that perspective and play darkspawn, Leliana and whatnot. Thus, I would prefer to keep my perspective of "self" in the game.
"Hey, you can't see your husband anymore, but here is a way to let you take over the body of creepy monsters, travel to an alternate reality and smash his head in.
or
"Hey, you will never see your husband again, but here is something that lets you take over their body and take a time machine to their past!". Nah..not quite for me. Maybe some Leliana fans feel the same way about this DLC. Or maybe I am just a romantic at heart.

I would love to see the original story expanded upon or added to, as in Warden's Keep or RTO (but a bit longer and with more story elements). Even better would be to begin to bridge the gap between DA:O / DA:A and whatever is coming in the future as we keep being told Mass Effect will do.
I like Leliana, but I don't want to be Leliana.

This DLC is a welcome change. I hope BioWare devises more story-oriented content like this. Having played the Origins storyline through almost three times (Wardens' Quest, at release and post-1.03), I can't say that I'd be enthusiastic about another Warden related storyline.
Out with the old, in with the new, I say!

As to the warden and our "obsession", my obsession anyway... I created my wardens... they are MY characters, whereas Leliana is Biowares character. That should say it all?
What I'd love to see, was an official piece of Highever DLC. Returning home for the human noble origin, or visiting the second most powerful noble in Ferelden for any other origin.
Another one I'd love would be Shale returning, needing the aid of the warden for some thing or another regarding her goal. Shale is my second most favourite character, and if she decides she'll have to exterminate ALL pigeons in Ferelden, why, whom am I to refuse her? Pigeons ARE evil!

I understand and respect your opinion in this regard. However, to me, the character is far too shallow to carry an entire series of storylines on its shoulders. I don't want to start a discussion here, but I certainly hope that BioWare steps away from the idea of character continuation for future iterations of the game.
That having been said, I now step away from this topic to prevent a discussion (or worse) from erupting here.

I'm in the opposite camp; what's with people and their obsession with the Warden?
Well I guess this "obsession" is comparable to the reason people wanted to know what happened to Luke and his friends after Empire Strikes Back, rather than have a totally new game with characters we never heard about before. We wanted to know if the Hobbits finally reached Mount Doom in the Return of the King, not have the story-flow interrupted by the chronicles of a teenage Gandalf learning spells at the mage academy. While DA Origins didn't really always end in a cliffhanger for everyone, it can be argued that Awakening does. And even in the absence of an obvious cliffhanger (e.g. the first Star Wars movie), I can bet that people still wanted to see Luke, Leia and Han again as soon as possible (as in their future adventures, not their life before they met).
I also think computer games have more in common with books than with movies, in that you usually identify with a particular character (particularly books with a narrator perspective). If you start living in a fantasy world and immersing yourself in that perspective, it is not too strange that you want to see the story continue (and also have DLCs add to the story, either expanding upon a contemporary timeframe or bringing the story into the future).
It all depends on your perspective and the way you play/experience the game, different strokes for different folks as usual.

I'm torn. I love Leliana and playing her story, one of the most intriguing back story of all the companions, is something I do want. Still, I want to know what happened to her and my Warden mage after Awakening. I know we are spotted in Denerim, but nothing more. *sigh* Oh well, I guess that's why God created fanfic.
Hmmm . . . I'm thinking this DLC may be a lead up to DA2 which involves a return to Orlais. In my last play-through, Leliana's Post-Coronation speech said that she was going back to Orlais to settle some old scores and set things right. If this is the case, it is likely that the characters introduced in this DLC will re-appear in DA2. What sort of person is Queen Celene? Is she a French-version of Anora - just as scheming and power-hungry or something else? We already know that Morrigan has gone to Orlais; might she make an appearance too?
