I would like to see Bioware post a FAQ/sticky about the ins and outs of
save game importing from ME1 to ME2 and ME2 to ME3.

Issues to be
covered include:

** Exactly which saves can be transferred
: completed games only? partial games?

For example: I complete as a soldier, level 50 (call this save S50C). I then start a 2nd game with this   character,   but only go half way (save name S55N)

I next start as an engineer, complete a game (E50C); then play with this character a complete game (E60C)

Next, I start as an adept, but only play 1/2 game (A25N)

EXACTLY which of the above saves can be imported into ME2??

How about ME2 to ME3 ??? Hopefully, Bioware is giving a little more thought to documenting the Import function in ME3.

** Exactly HOW do I transfer the correct save games
files to a new hdd and/or new computer?? If I want to replay ME2 in five
or ten years from now with my ME1 character, EXACTLY how do I do it?? How about ME2 characters into ME3 in the future?? Same issues for XBOX.

Bioware: you OWE this to
your customers! All the ads say we can import characters, but there
are too many 'gotchas', and there does not seem to be any one location to find the needed information. If someone at Bioware actually has all these answers, it shouldn't take more than 4 hours of their time to create a FAQ

A 'sticky' FAQ on this forum would be extremely helpful!

Some of the PC users might know this from the savegame editor, but there is a field in the ME2 savegames that indicates that you have finished the game (and if you have survived).

ME3 import will probably work a lot like the ME2 NG+ sequence.
