1) - We will see a DLC answering this question
2) - This will be part of the main quest on DA2

The dark ritual will force it to be a human to avoid half dwarf and such.
The god soul plus being born from a mage should I imagine increase the chances of the kid becoming a mage and a powerful one at that.
Female or Male?No idea.
I imagine the player would be someone new and not related to morrigan or the warden.
And depending on which sex you choose it would be the opposite sex.

DLC would be nice...but DA2 with a full blown role would be better...both - now that would just rock.
Would make more sense to be part of the sequel than a tiny dlc, but I'm thinking thats not how its going to pan out.
Bioware busy cranking those dlcs out, and my hunch is they are already done before we get to discuss them, so any suggestions or wishes coming from us ..the gamer/consumer are pretty much moot.
What would I like to see? A sequel that leads into what happened with Morrigan after she left us ..at the Final Battle. Her machinations at the Orlesian court, she is after all..according to the ingame lore, all about power and survival. I would imagine that, given she was "with child" she would be even more conscious about that.
But things could be entirely changed around, we "may" get all these short little standalone dlcs, that have really no influence or impact on the Main Campaign itself.
Once those are done and "finished"...again, I suspect that Bioware has entirely different plans for the sequel, and none of them pertain to what we would REALLY like to see.
Not great on continuity these guys...have to say. And basically I guess I am losing interest. Unfortunately.

Hybrids of humans and elfs would just look like a full blood human. And I don't think dwarf hybrids are possible. But the god strength would be very interesting if it comes into play. But I don't think you'll play as the child since not everyone had the kid. Bioware may just have us play as the Warden again. I would love to bring back my mage. Maybe they'll do something like the save game transfer they did for ME2.DaPuma_9 wrote...
I think it would be cool if in DA: 2 you play as her child! That way you would be either half-elf, half-dwarf or human and then you would have this amazing GOD strength to build through out the story. That's my opinion anyways

I never let her have the baby (though I might on this playthrough because im making her my LI) the first thing that came to my mind when she wouldn't tell me what she was going to do with the child and where she was going was that, she's going to pull a flemeth. I really have no idea other then that why she would be so secretive about it and why she wanted such a powerful child (remember how Morrigan mentioned that the more powerful the person is the easier it is to take control of the body)
this is totally what i thought.
i was like **** what if the kids a boy?
is the chick i boned going to be in my sons body?
wtf?

I agree with this, considering what happened with Flemeth, the fact she had Flemth's Grimoire (and do we really know what secrets are held within it's pages), as well as the way she was so evasive when you were questioning her about what would become of the baby. At the end too it feels like Morrigan is ending the friendship she builds with your Warden character too (she certainly seems cooler and less cordial then she was), as if she is happier to be alone (maybe this explains why?).

If all this were true, I imagine the canon DA:O ending would involve the player's male GW - only because I have a hard time buying either Alistair or Loghain performing dark sex rituals, regardless of the Persuade skill. And nothing jumps the shark like Alistair in bed with Morrigan.

DA2 will take place roughly 20-30 years after DAO. Like DAO, there will be several different possible origins, all of which will involve being the child of The Warden and/or Alistair. Morrigan's Old God Baby will be one possible origin for DA2's hero (perhaps the equivalent of DAO's Mage origin), thus answering the OP's question and satisfying fans of the Dark Ritual ending. If any other origin is chosen, the Old God Baby is assumed to have never existed, thus satisfying non-fans of the Dark Ritual ending.
This concept also creates interesting possibilities for imported DAO characters. You wouldn't get to play as The Warden, of course, but your DA2 character, being The Warden's child, might get specific bonuses based on an imported Warden's origin, class, and choices made in DAO. It would also probably be a fairly simple matter to add some lines to The Warden's face, some grey to his/her hair, and have him/her appear in-game as the DA2 hero's parent.
The only possible fly in the ointment that I can see is the Grey Warden fertility problem, but no one ever said that Grey Wardens are sterile, just less fertile than most.

According to the Chantry, the archdemons were once powerful dragons worshipped as gods by the Tevinter Imperium. They rise as archdemons and take control of the horde when awakened by the darkspawn and corrupted by their taint. The archdemon that appears in the game was once Urthemiel, who was worshipped by the Tevinter as the Dragon of Beauty.DaPuma_9 wrote...

At least, that's the Chantry's official story. I'm not sure if it's been confirmed within the DA universe by a non-Chanty source, and I don't know if we can completely trust the Chantry itself. After all, it's at least partially based on the Middle Ages Catholic church, which historically got a lot of things spectacularly wrong (Galileo, anyone?).

I think the archdemon's heritage is discussed in a codex - but like Jergen says, watch out for the Chantry's spin.
