Before i download the overlord dlc i never had any problems with the game crashing. But now that i have downloaded the dlc i have had 3 crashes with in about 3-4 hours of gameplay last night mostly while plying through overlord. I know it not my xbox as i have played a bit of cod 4, red dead and dead rising today and have not had a single crash but as soon as i start to play mass effect it crashes again this time in freedoms progress

Edit:Crashed again a a loading screen just after getting the normandy

Got any ideas on how to fix this problem or is it a problem for everyone?

I've had the same thing. Going into the Prometheus Station causes me to crash every single time. Tried it about 4 times now. Happens when I select Tali and Legion so I'm gonna try to pick different characters, who knows.

Figured out my ordeal; the game crashes when I put Legion in the party. Anyone else, including Tali, worked fine. Managed to work through Vulcan, and Promtheus loaded just fine, so I saved and will continue tomorrow.

I had chosen legion too, and am getting a consistent crash after team selection.

It does the same thing on the PC version too. Guess I'll wait till they fix it since I want to run through it with Legion to see if anything else interesting happens.

i just got past freedoms progress today and when i tried to land on omga as soon as i am about to hitthe loading screen i get hit with your disc is unreadable only problem is the disc isnt spinning coz it installed on my xbox. so i delete the dlc and reinstalled it to see if that would fix the crashes and i was able to get past the loadin screen on omega this time but as soon as it comes to character selection it freezes. I carnt delete overlord to contine to play coz my save demands it and if i play it crashes ever 10mins. i hope bioware fixes this bs as i paid money to buy a dlc to add play time to this game not to add the problem of having to turn of my xbox every 10mins coz of crashes.

I can confirm this. I've been experiencing the same problems on the PC version when choosing Legion and Tali. I haven't experienced any problems in other areas as described by dsrules4, hopefully I won't. If there's one things worse than DLC adding new gameplay containing glitches, it's DLC being released which also causes problems in other areas of the game.

Hopefully Bioware will get this fixed soon.

still carnt stop the crashes will see if swapping out miranda help coz she all ways in my squad at the momnet. That didnt work so i decided to see if deleteing my save wuld work so i deleted it then loaded up my older save seemed fine so i then decided to try and make another save from the start only to have it crash in the creation menu again. this sucks so much i pretty much paid to have my game rendered unplayable.

It crashed to me too choosing tali and legion.

So i choosed two others then i reloaded the autosave that makes before enter without closing the game and choosed tali and legion and it worked..

For me it crashes before I can even land on Aite! rather than crash... it freezes

Went through Overlord, but now my Unmodded saves, can't be played..... how nice.

Finished playing Overlord, but as soon as I return to the normandy it crashes every single time when I try to save it. If I keep going with the game it crashes on the next auto save...

....annoying is an understatement, It doesn't let me play mass effect anymore... I Remove my hardrive since the game saves are in there, and it works fine with my USB... but I can't load ME with my hardrive... and all my saves are in there, and all mess up...sigh.

And if my unmodded files, get messed up... I dont wana know what it will do to modded.... great, I just waste 560 microsoft points and can't keep playing... nice.

More work into the crash bug or what not:

Hoped it would work, but no.

1. Pass the quest Overlord with an Unmodified file. All Unmodified Files are kept at their original palce, my hardrive. Once Overlord was Completed, the autosave at the normandy upon return to it made the game crash.
From then on, all further attempts to load that game save were in vain, the game always crashed, even by the mere presence of the USB drive in the slot. Fortunately, I can keep playing other files now, but I can't pass Overlord... which brings the question of... is there things like a refund for DLC's that you can play.... but not keep...

2. Made a backup of all my original unmodded files and after deleting the original and replacing it with a backup I could keep playing... of course the quest "overload" is bright yellow on the galaxy map.
2.1: Played my backup again, passed overlord... and it crashed upon return to the normandy. All future attempts to play that file were in vein, and had to replace it.

3. Tried it with a modified file, passed the quest Overlord....and funny ... same thing happened, it crashed upon return to the normandy...

4. Tried it on an original save of another soldier lv 23, same issue, no problems while playing the quest, but upon return to the normandy, the game became unavailable, and the mere presence of the file, crashed ME2 every time I wanted to load a career, even if it wasn't the "damaged" one.

1st game crashed. Tried it on 2 other differen't files, another modded soldier, and an unmodded soldier lv 23. Nothing. Quest Overlord, crashes upon completion and return to the Normandy

Hopefully, Bioware is working on a fix to this, paying for something you can't keep is a bit ....disheartening??


PS: Crashes, happended rarely, not saying they dont happen, is not like my xbox is god given perfect.
but the obvious crash upon returning to the Normandy is clearly because of Overlord.

Will try to pass it again tomorrow.... or more accurately this afternoon since is 2:49 where I live in lol

i'm currently at the middle part of overlord and no crashes so far. what i did was i didn't choose legion on the first part of the mission... but i chose it(legion) at the second part. hopefully the game won't crash till the end... no modifications whatsoever on my files.

I've only crashed once, after beating the DLC and leaving for the Normandy (crashed during loading). Had Jacob and Miranda that time.

One problem I do have a lot, is the Geth Cannon at the Prometheus Station. For some reason, my Hammerhead randomly catches fire and explodes, usually 3-5 seconds after I "dodge" (i.e. completely boost to the other side of the combat area, away from the blast) the shot. A couple times I have caught fire and exploded before the cannon even turned in my direction to fire its first shot! Almost always happens the first time I enter the combat space, but after reloading (after inevitably dying the first time) it works fine.

my game crashed when i went to the cyber world and i had legion with me, try not bringing legion after the 2nd time you choose your squad(i think it has a problem with you killing off it's kind ^^) it worked for me.

ive downloaded operation overlord today for the pc version, i cant even land on the freakin planet without the game starting to freese up. i know that all the other downloads are fine, but i paid money for those biopoints, so i expect a working download.

when you try to land on Aite & the game freezes,

the problem is not with the DLC overlord,

it just  needs you to update the game into 1.02 version

then u can play ME2 Overlord without freezing when u land on Aite !

I can confirm that the crash happens when Legion is chosen as one of the squad members. Choosing a different squad member other than Legion seems to fix the issue, at least for me.

I am finding I have the same persistant problem even with the game patched :S
