Ok, so we all know that after completing Horizon, you do 5 missions, then the Collector Ship mission triggers. We also know that after Reaper IFF, if you decide keep Legion and wake up him up, then you do one mission before Legion's loyalty mission becomes available. After your second post-IFF quest (for me, it's usually Legion's mission), then the Collectors kidnap your crew. But other people here keep saying that if you haven't secured enough loyalty, then it takes more than 2 missions for the Collector ambush to trigger.

So, after I finish Horizon, if I recruit Tali, and do Overlord, then the Collector Ship mission will trigger after I get back to the Normandy. But that would mean that Kasumi and Zaeed would be my only loyal squadmates. So I'm wondering how this would affect the "timer" after I get Legion and the IFF. Has anyone tried this yet?

I really wish Overlord was structured in a way so that I could do a few missions of it, then do a couple of main campaign missions, then do its final mission after the IFF. But it sounds like this is not the case. I haven't played it, so I'm not sure when you're allowed to return to the Normandy again once you start it. Though I am looking forward to 5 more missions of not hearing Kelly's annoying "(character whose loyalty mission I'm not interested in doing) would like to speak to you" lines. I'd pay real money to shut her up (without hearing the same crap from EDI).
