Ah, Anders and Alistair have the same nose. And if you put the barbarian helmet on Anders it's very difficult to tell the difference between the two of them :).

No, Alistair has straight nose with widening tip and wide but small nostrils. Anders has narrow and a bit crooked nose with narrow but big in another plane nostrils.
(I hope you understand what I'm trying to say, I'm terrible in descriptions, but I've noticed that they do have different noses when I started to draw Anders after Alistair). Alistair's face sais: "I'm 100% noble, look at my jaw! And my proud profile!" Anders' face says: "Alright, I'm may be a peasant son, but I'm awesome enough not to care about it!"

In my own fanffic I am making Anders Wynne and Irving's son.  Though he could be Wynne and Greagoire's too.

Thats interesting, I didn't even know Wynne had a son. Certainly it would be interesting to know who that is, whether its Anders or anybody else. Probably would've been cooler if Anders was Duncan's son, but oh well :) . Also would like to find out who Fiona's son is, according to Allistair his mother had an affair with Maric when Rowan was still alive, so it couldn't be him (since Maric and Fiona got together well after Rowan had died). My guess is Jowan, but obviously it could be anybody. Lots of mystery identities out there yet to be revealed :) .

Actually, if you have read the Calling, it says right at the end of the book who is Allistairs mother.

EDIT. Well doesn't STATE, but with the description of the child it does lean towards a certain irritatingly chatty (like Maric) person that has a legion of female fans I don't want to anger lol.

I don't see Anders as being THAT much older than the PC - he'd be what... ten years older if Flemeth was his Mum?

Closer to fifteen.  Ferelden is liberated in 9:01/9:02 Dragon(ish) (it depends on whether there's an 8:100 Blessed/9:0 Dragon). TSL begins about 5/6 years before that and Flemeth and Maric's "time in the hut" (whatever it was) occurs before the first time skip in the novel.

IIRC, it's actually Loghain (as well as the codex) that mentions Alistair's birth as occuring when Rowan was alive. This has probably been retconned, though, with Fiona intended to be Alistair's mother. The codex can be taken with a pinch of salt when it comes to characters, in all honesty. For example: Isolde's codex backstory (that she met Eamon during the Occupation) doesn't remotely match with what characters tell us in the game (that she was a young Orlesian, much younger than Eamon, who married him shortly before Alistair got shipped off).

Honestly -- as a Rowan fanboy  -- I'd have rather learnt that Alistair was secretly Maric and Rowan's second son, raised as a bastard for some convoluted reason I can't be bothered to think up right this second.

Still, that's absolutely not possible, since Eamon would have brought it up at the Landsmeet if it were true. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/tongue.png[/smilie]
