I love Oghren. He's a really tragic figure in a lot of ways, but soooo funny. His dialogues with Alistair in DA:O are priceless.
I remember being incredibly peeved when I found out he was the repeat character in Awakenings - but then when he did his little wave I melted. And those drunken conversations in the Vigil are magnificent.. "Anyway... can I have a pony?" I nearly choked I laughed so much.

Same.
Protip: You get more approval (17) If you give him the pony after you talk about it. (Rather then 10.)

I'm guessing he's referring to a Bronto, seeing as brontosaurus means "thunder lizard".
Haha, I never thought of that. Nevermind, not glorious.

Is Oghren the reason that the dog isn't seen again? If so, I'm sure the dog never saw it coming. The fact that Oghren had his pants was the dog's downfall...

I thought that Zevran and Oghren's conversations were great. They were hillarious together.

I love Oghren.
The question is why he doesn't love me in DA:A... we had a bro'mance going on, then he got hitched, and apparently forgot all about me.
I love (and hate) why people get so upset over him. It's for such dumb reasons... like many dislike him because he left his family and is thus a terrible terrible *sarcasm* person. Of course they love other party members who've done far worse. Oghren has gotten more slack for ditching his family then Sten has FOR KILLING A FAMILY.

I don't understand the whole Oghren = misogynistic thing. I really don't.
I was going to comment on precisely this topic. To start with: Misogyny (pronounced /mɪˈsɒdʒɪni/) is hatred (or contempt) of women or girls. Misogyny comes from Greek misogunia (μισογυνία) from misos (μῖσος, hatred) and gynē (γυνή, woman). It is parallel to misandry—the hatred of men or boys.
Oghren doesn't hate women. He loves women. He's a drunken sexist pig, but he's no misogynist.

I adored him in Origins, especially when he accompanied my (female) dwarf noble to the Pearl (well, and everywhere else, actually). Pick a woman from Sanga, Oghren approves. Pick "something of both," Oghren approves. Pick just about anything with legs, Oghren approves. He finds his soulmate in Wynne, his comedic foil in Zevran, and his target in Alistair. I also loved his character development in Origins-- he actually showed quite a bit of growth and maturity as the game went on.
But in Awakening, he annoys the crap out of me. Maybe it's because he regresses so much, and it seems like he's more of a charicature than a character. He loses what enlightenment he found after Origins.

Oghren, he was one of my favorites I will admit in DA:O, he had a dry humour which I could relate to. Same with Sten and Shale (Morrigan to a certain extent). I loved taking them to spots where their convosations would trigger, hearing the banter (Shale and Sten love talks ;D).
But in DA:A it's a whole different story, and they utterly and completely changed Oghren! I don't know what it is about him, I just hate his character so much now! He has a wierd child-like sense of humour. And is just horrible! I mean I sent him to his future wife with his quest, to live a happy life. We were good friends, then when DA:A comes around, he is back to Neautral with me? I mean what the hell?!

I love how they actually gave him a soft moment near the ending, with his family.
How he talks of his 'Nugget' (Son) is just plain cute.
