I'm encountering an issue on Noveria. The part where Lorik Quinn asks you to deal with the thugs investigating his office, I engage the first female thug in dialogue. I choose the Paragon/Charm dialogue choice, but they still attack me right afterward and then the guards are all saying "I wonder who could have murdered our men in the Synthetic Insights office." I was wondering if there was a way to avoid confrontation with the thugs that doesn't involve killing them. Does anyone have any info that could help?

There's not a way to avoid a confrontation at Synthetic Insights, just a way to avoid confrontation with the first couple you see.

If your Charm/Intimidate is too weak, it won't work

That first girl says "you pretend you didnt see us we'll pretend we didn't see you", but still I have to fight that first wave of guards, I know when that blonde woman comes to investigate you are forced to fight her, but I thought I could avoid the first fight.

All that the charm/intimidate option does is remove, iirc, 3 soldiers from the fight. The lady and the two standing behind her. You still have to figh all the others.
